"excellent food and service!. as regular diner to the stag at offchurch (these companies sister pub) my partner and I thought it was time to try the moorings. Now, what kind of transformation they have done, I remember visiting here a few years back and never going to silence again. we both shared the meat plate to begin a selection of cold meat and parfait served with pickles. it was fantastic. then my other half had the sirloin from the specials and I had the squid cake, both where big. we skipped and finished with a coffee that was served sadly warm, not hot, but quickly and without annoying beautifully changed. set on the doors - eat 9/10 and service 10/10."

"The restaurant has a cozy Art Deco feel and an entrance area flows into a rustic barn for the main seating. There is also an upstairs overflow for larger groups. The service was attentive and polite without being too interruptive. The food was exquisitely prepared and presented but large appetites may require all three courses. We shared a pigeon and beetroot starter and chocolate marquise dessert with coffee ice cream and had two mains of chicken and venison in a jus with potatoes and a few veggies, which was sufficient for our smaller needs. The beers are averagely priced but the wines are a little more expensive, in line with the food, which still represents good value given the attention to detail, quality and ambience. From around 8.15 pm an acoustic guitarist played mellow tunes in the background. The songs rose in popularity as the evening unfolded with the audience applauding every number by the time they were into their second bottle of wine! A top restaurant for an occasion or a special night out."

"Lunch here today was the most disappointing, in any place, for months. Saltimbocca consisted of a chicken that had been cooked not by roasting but by methodical dehydration, and a sweet heart cabbage that was soft and watery. The accompanying slow roast potato was more like a baked potato that had been out of the oven for some hours. A consequent order of french fries was acknowledged but yielded no result. The bill came with credit for a voucher presented at the start of the meal conveniently forgotten, and had to be redone."

"when we were there, they said we didn't book. we ordered a bottle of wine, half an hour later they came back and said they ran out of the wine, 10 minutes after the waitress returned with a bottle of wine. the ordered appetizers took almost 1 hour to complain to us after 3 times, once arrived they were not hot. the main course lasted almost 2 hours to come back, had to complain several times, to the luck was hot, although the tip of my rice was clear dried out. we were next to teenagers (some kind of summer school) very loud and around like teenagers. Nevertheless, the restaurant should have put them in a functional room and not beside fully paying customers, I do not blame the youth at all. I felt very disappointed as this was the worst culinary experience we had for a very, very long time. the waitress worked extremely hard, I don't feel that any of them is their fault, not what they want after they celebrated the special day of their child"

"Situated just off the M6, this is a perfect stopping place to avoid motorway service menus if you're on a long haul to Scotland. I had a Geordie bon-bon starter and steak and ale pie as a main. But the menu had lots of choice and there were lots of others I could have chosen with equal enthusiasm. Beers and ambience were great too."

"we went here on Saturday evening (party of 4,) as we regularly visit the sister restaurant are the winking prawn, which is beautiful. our waitress was very nice, but eating was literally terrible. we ordered halloumi while we read the menu that it was not possible. raw halloumi swim in extremely strong garlic oil. they took the bill when we didn't touch it. starter: mush were full of grit and minuscule. they were clearly not fresh. prawns were cooked and tasteless. bands were nice crochets were good. netz: 2 krabbensalate (one with a pfeffer allergy that we have told the waitress were not listed on the menu, but we have mentioned it anyway) the person with the pfeffer allergy was served an salat with pfeffer. jrk huh: was good. just a piece of **** with something tear, can't do much wrong. scallops prawns absolutely eat the worst I ever had in devon and almost 20 pfund. the garnels were so over cooked that I could not peel them. also the skalopps were overcooked. the meal was just terrible. we mentioned all this to the manager when we went to pay (about £100 for pleasure to eat this) and his attitude was quite literally “good what they want me to do about it?” I never complain. I never write reviews. but that was the hands down, the worst meal I've ever eaten in a restaurant, and it's a big shame as it could be beautiful."

"in any case worth a visit, as eating is quite good. we came here on a Saturday night and it felt like they had mixed their booking times, because we waited 30 minutes for the bars so that our pre-ordered is ready. And then, after we had ordered ourselves, we had to wait long until our ancestors showed up. a shame when it was eating and drinking really nice. they have also added the bill wrong and drinks that we did not have. this type of things happen, but the attention to detail and service could be better. in any case it is worth checking out as a really nice modern restaurant with good food. on a plus side they sat on a beautiful large, spacious table with comfortable chairs!"

"Friday evening 19th October and we visited this restaurant for dinner. It is located in Mermaid Quay and overlooks Roald Dahl Plass and the Welsh Millennium Centre. We did not have a reservation, so luckily they were able to accommodate the seven of us. We were greeted at the door, warmly welcomed, and shown to our large circular table. We were presented with the menus, there was the a la carte menu as well as a set price two and three course menus and the drinks menu. This is an Italian, Spanish and Welsh flavour to the food served here. While we decided on what food to order we ordered some drinks from a friendly good humoured waiter. We finally decided on what to order which was a range of starters including garlic mushrooms, chicken liver pate and homemade soup. My starter, the soup, leek and potato was delicious. Home made Welsh faggots proved to be rather popular with a number of us ordering them. It was unfortunate that there were insufficient faggots for us all so a couple of us reselected the chicken breast. When our food was served it was delicious the chicken breast was succulent and tender and the faggots were very much appreciated. There is certainly a sense of the theatrical, dramatic and the zany about the decor here. From chandeliers, Greek statues, theatre curtains, unusual lights and other oddities, they all added to the atmosphere here. We really did enjoy our evening here, reasonably priced, quality delicious food, attentive and amusing staff and the over the top decor."

"This is our fifth visit to this restaurant, and unfortunately, it will also be our last. We went for Sunday dinner, which had always been delicious in the past, but this time, the meal was not up to par. The roast pork was overcooked and cold, served with cold potatoes and lukewarm vegetables. I was shocked by the price of my drink, which was originally quoted as £4.90 for a pint of lager shandy, but then changed to £2.45 for half a pint of beer and £2.00 for half a lemonade. We used to come here when the restaurant first opened, and the Sunday lunch was good. I'm not sure if there has been a change in the chef, but whoever is in the kitchen now needs to ensure that the food is properly heated before serving it to customers."

"Having never visited Portsmouth before we didn't know where to get dinner whilst visiting for my wife's work. Good ol' Trip Advisor drew this place to our attention, and boy are we glad it did! Service was friendly but attentive. Good knowledge of what was gluten free for my coeliac wife. All 4 dishes we had were outstanding. I particularly recommend the satay (perfectly cooked chicken) and the penang (such depth of flavour).. I doubt anything would disappoint to be honest. A casual but smart interior in a quirky building added to the ambience, and the prices were reasonable. Oh, and if you've got a bit of space at the end of your meal, try the triple chocolate martini you'll thank me! I'm just hoping we need to go back to Portsmouth again soon...."

"Ambiance is of a 5 start hotel yes, it's a chain but one of the rare ones that you can see the food, esp. pizza, being prepared open kitchen. Dining foyer is so spacious and welcoming; contemporary layout and cutlery with table tops and also booths. They also have discounted lunch options. Vegan options possible. Stuck to the basics with Penne Arrabbiata that was perfectly cooked and the sauce was a tug of war between fresh tomatoes and garlic and Italian olive oil, it was SO delish. Great place for a date night or family outing with classic and traditional Italian flavors!"

"Siam brasserie has tons of character. It 's a bit odd getting inside as there is a door into what feels like a 1/2 glass 1/2 wood elevator which you then go through to get into the main area. This 'elevator ' ' area is in the way of the stairs so I wonder if it is some kind of Covid precaution to slow entry. The staff let us in before our reservation which was much appreciated as the wind was bitterly cold. Staff led us to a table and gave us menus. Staff were polite and well knowledgeable about the menu. The dishes I tried were exquisite and well presented. The ingredients were fresh and delicious. I found the pricing to be reasonable and would visit again when I next go to Chelmsford. A lovely meal was had here."

"Came here for an early birthday celebration with my friends on a Friday night. I had made a reservation beforehand but it was very empty when I walked in so it wasn't needed. There were 4 of us and we decided to order a couple starters to share so we could try different things. One of my friends is vegetarian so we went with the trio cheese croquettes and then the grilled mussels. Both were really nice, but I wish the garlic butter sauce for the mussels could be stronger. The mussels also weren't the most fresh but tbh I wasn't surprised since central London isn't known for seafood and for the price it was what it was. For mains, I went for the Entrecote steak with fries. I loved the garlic butter that came with it and the refreshing salad on the side. The steak was a little too rare for my liking even though I asked for medium so I couldn't finish it but the portion was huge for its price. The fries were a little soggy and didn't taste freshly fried so it was slightly disappointing. My friends went for the sea bass, duck breast and cauliflower steak which were all really good apparently so that balanced out with my main I suppose. Service was great. One of my friends made a special request with the staff for my birthday and they came sing a birthday song for me with the desserts we ordered which was lovely. For desserts, we went with the raspberry crème brulee, affogato with vanilla ice cream and the apple tarte tartin also with vanilla ice cream. All were really good and we all agreed that the apple tarte tartin was the best of them 3 because the apple was rich and the pie was well-made and went well with the ice cream. Overall, I had a great time with my friends there as we stayed for 4 hours and we didn't get kicked out at all since it was so empty! I would be happy to come back soon and try other things on the menu."

"It was moderate at best , we had the waiter spill the tea on the cakes and excused himself to bring new ones which were never bought back. The attention to detail is cared for rather than the quality of food itself, it felt stale some sandwiches. The highlight was only the view. The rest can be described as mediocre at best. "We have always loved dining at this restaurant. Our children enjoy their meals every time we visit, making it a delightful experience for us all. During the lockdown, we ordered takeout from Prezzo, and I’m amazed at how they maintained the fantastic presentation of the food, just as if it were served in the restaurant. Response to restaurants reply: It’s shame. May be my reviews make you feeling not good. BUT all my reviews are true! Yes, we booked a table for 12 people but 4 kids and 1 baby included. Thus, we ordered 7 main courses with starters desserts for 7 adults and 1 kids meal and wine. I’m feeling sorry for 2 kids running around our table and we did stopped them once you told us. And I appreciated the lady with black clothes who helping us carried the pram upstairs. She was very kind and helpful. However, the staff who mainly serving our table was not very good. She pour the wine out on the table and the baby pram when she collecting the empty wine cup. For the wrong billing Yes, the first bill was £191 that’s lower then the actual bill. We found it wrong and reported it to restaurant even it’s lower price because that’s not what we ordered. And the 2nd bill was wrong again which was overcharged until the 3rd bill. Actually, not only the mess dish arrangement, one of the main course was not correct but we tried to make it simply and just finished it without any complaints. For the dish arrangement and no any updates response from the staff after we asked, really disappointed. What I feeling? I’m wasted my time for waiting because of the poor arrangement. I keep waiting and asking and get no response whole night. And my kid and I feeling very hungry. Because I still waiting my main course and the side. I was wait for whole dinner, my friends almost finished their meals but I’m still waiting. No any reply after asking, just said they will check until our last asking. Throughout the meal no one asked if the food was ok. Made us feel unwelcome. If anyone asked, may be the things will not become that bad."
