"Friday evening 19th October and we visited this restaurant for dinner. It is located in Mermaid Quay and overlooks Roald Dahl Plass and the Welsh Millennium Centre. We did not have a reservation, so luckily they were able to accommodate the seven of us. We were greeted at the door, warmly welcomed, and shown to our large circular table. We were presented with the menus, there was the a la carte menu as well as a set price two and three course menus and the drinks menu. This is an Italian, Spanish and Welsh flavour to the food served here. While we decided on what food to order we ordered some drinks from a friendly good humoured waiter. We finally decided on what to order which was a range of starters including garlic mushrooms, chicken liver pate and homemade soup. My starter, the soup, leek and potato was delicious. Home made Welsh faggots proved to be rather popular with a number of us ordering them. It was unfortunate that there were insufficient faggots for us all so a couple of us reselected the chicken breast. When our food was served it was delicious the chicken breast was succulent and tender and the faggots were very much appreciated. There is certainly a sense of the theatrical, dramatic and the zany about the decor here. From chandeliers, Greek statues, theatre curtains, unusual lights and other oddities, they all added to the atmosphere here. We really did enjoy our evening here, reasonably priced, quality delicious food, attentive and amusing staff and the over the top decor."

Table booked for 7:30pm over half an hour delay and not seated till 8pm , ordered spaghetti carbonara , which was barely warm and a ridiculous small size portion that resembled a child menu in a weatherspoons ! Lacked any taste and the garnish was a joke Awful just awful ! View menu

Had a late lunch here I had the 8oz sirloin which was one of the best quality steaks I have ever had My partner had the seafood spaghetti which she said was delicious Service and friendliness of staff was first class Deco is extremely dated, but quirky at the same time Recommended

Went for a meal a few weeks ago and was very disappointed. The food is obviously not prepared on site as it came out really quickly, the mushroom sauce with the main tasted like tinned mushrooms and the main meals were unpleasant. We could hear the bar staff swearing whilst he was talking to someone. Not what you expect when you go out to a restaurant. Won't be returning.

We ate at this restaurant a while back and had a beautiful meal, however we were most disappointed in the food yesterday. One of our parties ordered 3 courses and 2 they didn’t have. Two of the other parties ordered steak and it was over cooked,we did say to the waiter but nothing was done. We had bread with the prawns and it tasted rancid. Finally we had our sweets, the sherry trifle was awful, the sherry was so strong it overpowered everything, the profiteroles like the trifles had squirty synthetic cream. The meal was for a special get together and we’re most disappointed. View menu

Penne formaggi is full of water on the plate, no taste at all, penne Bolognese from tin, chicken Supreme in pink. We went as a family of 5 and the food was scandalous. I've complained about it( I never do because I run a hotel so I know how this works) but they didn't even bother with an apology. When we left( very hungry because we didn't touch the food) they charged me in full.On top of that when I asked for a manager they ignored it and they charged me £189 instead of £109. They refunded and re charged again . What if I had no more money in the account? Again no apologies. What a joke. I am expecting to be contacted by someone in charge this experience was embarrassing for me considering...

We visited this restaraunt for a pre show lunch, there were a group of 15. Our table was booked for 12.15 for which we were seated and ready to order. All of the startes were on table without much of a wait. Myself I had the seasonal menu 2 courses for £16.95. My starter was duc and otange pate which was ok (well you can't really go wrong with this). Or main courses was not served until 1.30 (the show started at 2.30. My main course was chicken parcel (chicken breast stuffed with stuffing and wrapped in prosciutto) served with saute potatoes and seasonal veg. It was wrapped in bacon, thickly cut and not prociutto. The stuffing was almost raw, and when i turned the chicken over there was a hu...

"cafe citta is a tiny little restaurant that is worn away and is very inconspicuous. if they have not made extensive food research, they might miss it at the end because it looks impressing from the outside. I recommend to them however to go an effort because if they are looking for authentic Italian food in cardiff, cafe citta should definitely do on their list! atmosphere: it is a very small restaurant with barely walking. the tables are small and crampy, so when they come with more than 3 people, I recommend to them a booking well in advance. but despite being small, the decoration is really charming. it felt more like going into someone's living room than a real restaurant! there were flowers each table with beautiful wooden tables, whose table legs were decorated in very ornate style, and cool paintings on the wall as well! customer service: excellent, could not be better. not only the personal friendly, but they were also very attentive and made sure that our table was well clarified without having to say anything at all! Food: that was excellent. as an appetizer we had the caprese, which was fresh buffalo mozzarella with a beautiful sauce and fresh tomato. the mozzarella was fantastic and really very fresh. we also ordered the polenta al ragu and the bolognese soße, which accompanied the polnta was fantastic! for a pornstar, I ordered the pollo alla romana, which was a whole chicken breast with sage, parma ham, and a side of kartoffel and salat boiled. we also had a garlic pizza to share. they gave us chili oil and parmesan on the side for extra spices. everything was great! I am usually not too excited to order chicken breast in a restaurant, but it was extremely juicy I didn't know that chicken breast could be so tender! there were great aromas everywhere. the only negatiw is that I recommend to give them the garlic pizza. it was quite bland and needed half a quantity of chili oil and parmesan to save it. overall I recommend cafe citta. next time, I would try one of her pasta dishes, how my partner swept over his tagliatelle carbonara!"
