"The dining room at Berners Tavern is stunning with dripping chandeliers, sculptures and floor to ceiling paintings. To match, the food is outstanding. We came in for the Sunday menu and weren't disappointed. I had the Mac and cheese with beef short rib and it was rich, cheesy, creamy and the addition of the beef was oh so satisfying and full of burnt end flavour. So bad but so good. The roast was standard, however the roast pork didn't come with crackling as any good old pork roast would, but instead there was crackling dust which just wasn't the same. The Yorkshire pudding was a little bit soggy and comes stuffed with buttery greens. On the other hand, drinks took a while to arrive and we had to wait a very long time for our table to be cleared and order dessert. Overall, great for food but we felt a little neglected in terms of service."

If he is not understanding his own menu information in the restaurant, what can he explains about the food to customers with that very very rude behaviour.. he don’t know manners also. My suggestion is to not to go to this restaurant, I won’t go there in my life. Manner less idiots."

"Now over 20 visits. Lovely young ladies who serve. But that’s now 8 times I’ve asked for a mild dish. MILD. Have made a huge point of repeating the fact. It gets less mild every visit. As if it’s made hotter on purpose. I’ve took 2 friends now on different occasions. Lassies serving are lovely. Cheesecake is amazing but I’m fed up trying to explain what mild means. "Ordered a meal from the vegan menu and when it arrived we found lumps of what we thought at first was chicken, so we called up to ask and we were told it’s not chicken it’s cheese, an Indian cheese made with cows milk which is NOT vegan and should not be on their VEGAN menu. We asked for our money back as we could not eat the food to which we were told to just “pick it out and eat the rest” and they refused for a while to refund us any money. Then we were told they would only refund us for part of our order because it was “our own fault” .. our own fault for ordering what we thought was a vegan meal because it was on the vegan menu Do not recommend."

"Recently ordered a FULL lamb chasni which should come with both rice and naan, however only received rice. My bottle of coke was also out of date. Called up to rectify the issue and initially it sounded like they will send a naan to me, then got a call back 2 minutes later to say it doesn't come with a naan, a full is either rice or naan, I pointed out that is not what it says on the menu.. they blamed the host of the menu (Being Just Eat). I took him at his word, seemed weird, but arranged to have a free drink next order. Later I talked to a couple of people who use the take away regularly, they told me yes it should come with both, I checked a competitor to JE they use Scoffable says the exact same thing comes with both, and a physical menu I had also says the same thing. So they guy actually lied to me to save himself sending out a naan, even though he was going to send a driver back for a refund for the drink initially. Really Really sad, the food quality was actually good... it was soured by a lie to save a couple of pounds. Now word of mouth will spread with some people and they lost customers already from the 2 that spoke to me. Absolutely silly thing to do."

"My daughter came to this restaurant yesterday to have a pizza. She is 11 years old. She ordered a cheese pizza that was advertised as £5. However, the man serving her asked for £6.50 instead. When she pointed out that the menu clearly stated £5, he insisted that it was actually £6.50. He then started to become impatient with her when she continued to argue that it was £5. It was not a good experience trying to rip off an 11 year old."

I have disabilities so I truly appreciate, staff's patience when delivering food. I feel guilty for constantly ordering from Balti Raj, I just can't stop. The food quality is amazing and honestly affordable. I have bought food from other restaurants, where the portion is just about enough for one person and everything is so expensive, that we have ended up going without food, at times.
