Rich and comforting soup made with slow-roasted tomatoes, herbs, and spices, offering a deliciously warm and savory flavor.

"Some customers had a great experience, but we ended up paying full price for our visit. The atmosphere felt a bit worn out."

"Comfortable though rather informal arrangement of easy chairs and coffee tables in the Lounge Bar. Booked afternoon tea and received excellent service and a great selection of teas. Loved the little egg timers for correct brewing. As I am are allergic to fish I had contacted the hotel previously and was glad to find that the message had got through to the staff in the lounge. They made me a lovely alternative to the in-house smoked salmon of roasted peppers and cream cheese. Scones were amazing though the patisserie selection was a little avant garde for my taste. Well worth £30, not only for the quality and quantity of the food but for the atmosphere and service which made it a special occasion."

"We did receive complimentary drinks—a Diet Coke and a tea—but unfortunately, the food order also encountered issues. My friend ordered a Jerk Chicken Burger with gluten-free bread, but just before the food was nearly ready, we were informed that they had no gluten-free bread available. Thankfully, our friend was okay with having the burger without bread, as the food was served just two minutes later. If he had wanted to make a different choice, they would have had to restart the order completely. We also requested a glass of tap water that never arrived. When it was time to settle the bill, the server mentioned that she had applied a small discount to account for the missing gluten-free bread. I believe that if it weren't for that discount, we would have raised concerns about the Jerk Chicken itself, as it was not what we expected. Instead of a proper burger, it was just a few strips of chicken that resembled goujons. Lastly, when the bill arrived, she brought the card machine with her, expecting payment before we even had a chance to review the bill properly. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience."

"The crab in the canapés was the standout dish—I think we all agreed we could have happily eaten a tub of that instead of continuing with the rest of the meal! The food was delicious, and I have no complaints. My soup remained hot until we finished our bread, which was great. I wish I had reserved some extra gravy for my bratkartoffeln, which I enjoyed at the end of my main course, but it’s good to know I could have asked for more. The portion sizes were just right. Although I’m not a fan of mice cake, I was offered cookies for dessert. My mother couldn’t stop raving about how good the coffee was. I also appreciated the novelty decorations, crackers, and the small party popper boxes. Unfortunately, there was a diner at a nearby table who was overly loud and rude, constantly complaining to the staff, which did disrupt our experience a bit. The restaurant was quite full, providing a lively ambiance from other diners, but this person wanted to be the center of attention, which was rather embarrassing. Despite that distraction, I still enjoyed our meal and would happily return for Christmas 2023."

"The dining experience was enjoyable but not exceptional. The service was satisfactory, though not outstanding. It seems there may be a disconnect between the expectations set by their branding (aiming for a Gordon Ramsay-level quality) and the reality of their offerings, which seem more aligned with wanting to be superior to chains like P.F. Chang's. I would be willing to return, but likely with a smaller group, as I don't feel they manage larger parties very well."

"What a great family run pub! Eclectic clientele of all ages. Friendly welcome, with super attentive staff. Great food with a huge nod to their South African roots, but great traditional fare too. Smallish menu but that’s because everything is cooked fresh, be patient it’s worth the wait. If not go to the local Spoons or Harvester, you’d fit right in!!! There is a good selection of traditional ales, Peroni and Bira Moretti on tap for the more discerning lager drinkers, the Guinness is excellent too. If you ask nicely they’ll make you an Old Fashioned as well! These guys work really hard with regular quiz, DJ and live music events with a really chilled and friendly vibe. Great that my GF lives just around the corner … legendary for a local."

"Plush surroundings and luxury persisted throughout as befits an adjunct to a top hotel. Food was delicious, service was impeccable I even got ticked off for having the audacity to pour my own wine! Lunch took 3 hours and was time well spent but remember such enjoyment doesn’t come cheap."

"We used this venue a couole of weeks ago for a birthday dinner in the private dining room. The food was fantastic until we realised that the allergens had not been disclosed correctly and my aunt who is gluten intolerant was given the wrong meal. The wait staff were totally apologetic and luckily my aunt had not eaten too much of the meal however what was more concerning was when I was speaking to the manager I was rudely interpreted by a gentleman asking me “what my problem was”. The manager looked extremely nervous and explained this man was actually the owner of the venue. I explained the situation to him to which he replied with a raised voice “it’s sorted now isn’t it, why are you out here moaning and making me look stupid”. I was that taken aback that I just left and went back to the dining room and carried on as to not ruin my grandmother’s birthday however I felt it important to let people know as I will not be returning and will be encouraging friends and family not to dine there due to the possibility of ever having to encounter such bad behaviour whilst being paying customers."

"We make it a point to stay here once a year for a special occasion. We always book the best suite and indulge in the complete tasting menu with wine pairings. While it's not the cheapest option, it certainly feels worth every penny. The staff is incredibly attentive and knowledgeable about every aspect of the experience. The menu focuses on local products, and they rely on their own gardens whenever possible. If you're looking for a fantastic evening with exquisite food, make sure to enjoy some excellent wines and cheeses while you're here. This place is hands down the best I've ever visited, even compared to places like Singapore and Monaco. Having such an establishment right at your doorstep is truly remarkable."

"Great cocktails and a cute atmosphere. Especially loved those aubergine and goats cheese croustillants, they don't hold back on the goats cheese! Sat on a table outside, was a nice touch to see that blankets were provided considering how cold London still is in the evenings, only critique is that the music in the outside seating area was way too loud to have a conversation without trying to shout above it. Apart from that love it, can't wait to come back!"

"I visited in February The restaurant is well located close to Trafalgar Square with a striking interior of all marble. It looks the part, although they could do with updating their chairs. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and the staff are attentive. We received a very friendly welcome as soon as we walked in. We opted for the pre-theatre course set menu. At this seems to be good value. We both had the rib croquette starter, this dish has potential but lacked any particular flavour and was rather dry. For the main, I had the rump steak and my girlfriend had the lamb chops. Unfortunately these were both very dry, the steak was more char grilled than anything else and the lamb was a little bland. On the side of the plate we each had a pile of salad that was a bit stale. We had to ask the waitress for some salad dressing and oil to make the main more edible. They seemed concerned that we though the food wasn't great but didn't do anything about it. The desert was the best part of the meal and we both enjoyed it. We had the cheesecake and the brownie. Not sure if we got bad food because it was on the pre-theatre menu but in reality this should not be making a difference. They need to sort their food out otherwise customers are never going to return. On the plus side, the wine was very nice and seemed to be good value. The total bill came to just under with service included. Had the starter and main been good, I think this would have been an acceptable price to pay but they weren't, so I will not be returning."

"eating was very tasty and portions were really decent. not a huge menu (3-4 options per category,) but overall we were made to feel worth and service was in order, but there were some long waiting times (approximately 25 minutes between starter and main - after we finish our starter and about 15 minutes until we actually managed to pay - we tried to catch the attention of one of the waiters.) Price/quality ratio was good, £15pp for a main and a common starter (big sign board for 4ppl.)"

"It is a very nice place, great decor and in a fabulous location just off Trafalgar Square. Unfortunately we had booked for festive afternoon tea but was left very disappointed. First they didn't have a reservation for two people so they had to check with the kitchen they could still give us food plus we're vegetarian. The portion sizes that arrived were disappointingly small for two and the bread was stale. It should have come with three cocktails and we got the first while sitting and waiting for the go ahead. The second one didn't materialise and the third one came when we had finished our food and had to ask for it. We felt a bit left out, as if we were a bit of an inconvenience and the food was rushed just do we could stay. I'm sure we would have had a better experience if they hadn't lost our reservation but I don't think we'll be coming back any time soon. I've had better afternoon tea local to home and for considerably less money"
