"We waited for our food for over an hour with very little updates. Finally, they offered us a complimentary drink. The music was too low, so the ambience was lacking. The temperature in the conservatory was too hot, then too cold. Despite these issues, we enjoyed the company and had a great time once the food arrived. It's best not to arrive too hungry and be prepared to wait. They accommodated special dietary requirements, but the options were not well-informed or very creative. The traditional and cheese lover afternoon tea had a very good selection and quality. It's recommended to book in advance if you want to use vouchers and get an excellent deal."

"Really sad to find that Vujon is closing. This has been a firm favourite if ours for some time and we have enjoyed many a good meal here. We didn't know when we booked for New Year's Eve 2019 that it would the last night they were open. We realised straight away that things weren't as normal the wall lights were not working so it was very dim, there was no wallpaper on the walls, the carpet had been replaced with a wood floor so it was noisey when anyone walked across the floor and the heating was none existent. Thankfully most of the food was good as usual. It's closing for a three month refurbishment so let's see if the new place lasts for the 30+ years that Vujon was there."

"Have just returned home to Westbourne having had a meal in this delightful restaurant which is Malaysian Street Food. Our son recommended it and took us tonight. It was pure delight. The menu is vast and there is definitely something for everyone and everyone's taste. My son recommended for me the Chicken soup as it is not spicy. Well it was absolutely delicious. Basically a huge bowl with pieces of soft chicken, noodles, bean sprouts, a beef pattie and vegetables in a lovely broth. It was so tasty and filling. I had started with a deep fried roti with a spicy sauce but I myself found the sauce way too hot for my palate but the roti was different. The staff were friendly and very attentive and I will definitely be going again."

"We booked a special birthday lunch here, having seen some good reviews. We were shown to the ballroom, where the flowers on the table were dead!! We were then given a bar menu of small plates. When we asked for the lunch menu, we were told that they were not running lunch today, as they had a large booking in the evening. We booked in advance and the day before, we had an email asking us to reconfirm our booking, which we did. The restaurant didn’t bother to warn us in advance despite having told them it was a special birthday lunch. Appalling service, so we left and ate elsewhere, at the White Hart in Fyfield, where we had a wonderful meal"

"This restaurant is great and has a variety of clearly labeled vegan options, including starters, mains, desserts, and even vegan wine. The staff are knowledgeable about vegan choices and can help guide you. Make sure to try the vegan lamprais on weekends, just be sure to request it in advance."

"O Tokuda. Friendly warm nothing is to much trouble for this well run restaurant. The food is second to none and we have been to sushi bars all over the world at seriously expensive prices and I have to say not only on the price issue but the food quality out shines them all. We have always been made welcome even though we have a 6 month old baby and a 12 year old with us. The buffet gives loads of selection even if your not a sushi lover there are platters of mixed starters with ribs chicken king praws etc , and loads of meat and veggie main courses, It really is all you can eat and everything is freshly prepared and brought to the table instead of the buffets where food has been sat...read more"

"Tukdin is an excellent Malaysian restaurant. If you 're in the Paddington area, don 't miss it. I was so delighted by it that I returned the following night. Over several years in SE Asia, I 'd travelled up and down peninsular Malaysia from Georgetown to Johore, as well as Malaysian Borneo and multiple visits to Singapore and Indonesia, with their Malay variations. The satay starter is excellent. (It 's not on skewers, but after all, you 're buying at a restaurant, not from a street vendor), The fish curry: also excellent, with a thick filet of fresh sea bass swimming in the spices. The Beef Rendang was also first-rate. The coconut rice is an excellent side for soaking up all the curry. So is their roti (which isn 't on their internet menu, but they do serve it). The lychee tea was a little disappointing: very mild. Still, I absolutely rate Tukdin 5 stars: excellent. The local Malay community (whether peninsular, archipelagic, or Peranakan) definitely likes this place: get there early to secure a table. The kitchen staff and wait-staff are both absolutely first-rate. The owners, cooks, and beautiful young lady who was our waitress, all get a giant Terima kasih! from me!"

"The restaurant offers a variety of dishes, but their quality can be inconsistent. My dish was like an average chow mein, not exactly what I had expected. However, it was still decent. The sweet and sour chicken in my partner's dish was delicious, but the stir-fry vegetables were undercooked and the rice was too peppery. The aromatic duck was tasty, but could have used more accompaniments like pancakes, sauce, cucumber, and spring onions. The warm beers were a disappointment for the beer drinkers in our group, especially as some beers are best served cold. Overall, our experience was a mixed bag. We may opt for local takeout options in the future instead. The service was lacking, with young staff members who seemed uninformed about the menu and drink offerings, leading us to question if the usual managers were absent. Unfortunately, the service was slow, unprofessional, and somewhat lazy, with a lack of attention to detail. It's worth noting that the gluten-free sweet and sour chicken may not be truly gluten-free, as it appears to be battered in regular batter. When we asked the waitress about this, she was unable to provide any clarification."

"The food and service at this restaurant are breathtaking. The dishes are prepared with speed and care, and are packed beautifully. Everything is absolutely delicious. The staff is exceptionally courteous. This is a take-out restaurant with dinner meal options, priced at £10-20 per person."

"This was our first experience eating in a few weeks ago and I couldn’t feel more uncomfortable when we entered. A very rude and disrespectful woman, short blondish hair), she looked like the owner. She looked at me up and down and failed to say hello- a look of why we were there. When I told her I had a reservation- she was stunned and was very dismissive and after I said we made a reservation she was rather perplexed. We were sat to the table and given one menu to start with. they had a large group dining too- so took up all the menus). There was a nice gentleman who I believe took our booking who was friendly- that’s your lot! Upon ordering, I had forgotten to order a small portion of egg fried rice and when I asked to place an order, the waitress who took our order snapped and said it will take a “long time”. It was for my 3 year old- rice is a staple dish, which does not involve extensive cooking also pre cooked) I found this pretty unreasonable, how could you deny a child food- they didn’t want us there. The food in general was good- however the staff and ambience was abysmal. As an owner, you should be welcoming and friendly- the woman who greeted us- was far from this. She did not want our business as she was seen to pander to the large group of customers she had in the restaurant. A real shame, given this could have been our new local. Note the owner: don’t dismiss people who are coming to your restaurant, we are the people who keep your restaurant going. I would really score this no stars for service or ambience. "Well, totally unexpected, an absolutely fantastic experience from start to finish ! Booked here for the first time on a bit of a whim, I normally eat Indian Bangladeshi food but thought I'd try here as the wife loves chines food and I'm glad...I did ! Tje food was beautiful, and some I'd not heard of but the staff were very helpful in helping us choose. The staff go tje extra mile here, polite, extremely helpful and the food was an absolute delight. The sharing platter was excellent and I chose the Beef Rendang for my main, the meat was sooooo tender that it melted in my mouth and ohhh so tasty. Absolutely faultless place to eat, so good in fact that we rebooked for the following Wednesday for the whole family and can't wait to come back ! Many thanks for a delightful evening !!!!"

"I have been wanting to visit here for ages but the stars have never aligned until Saturday. We were extremely lucky to get a walk in for the two of us. We were greeted by the owner and shown to a table. As we didn't have any drinks with us Peter suggested Tesco a few doors down and I was able to grab a bottle to enjoy with the meal. The service was wonderful and friendly and it felt like we had been going there for years, with just the right amount of care and advice. The food was exceptional from start to finish. We had the chicken satay and spring rolls to start and they were beautiful. The satay was amazing and was much darker in colour than any I have had before, but much better in flavour than any I have had before, I would definitely have these again. For main I had a chicken rendang and my wife ordered gule monkfish. The rendang was again perfect for my tastes. Spicy but flavourful with a generous portion that would satisfy the majority of eaters. I would have had seconds, even though I was stuffed because it was so good. I can't comment too much on the monkfish as I have a dislike of seafood, but my wife raved about it and said she's having the same again next time without question. So I think that sums it up. We finished with deserts of a rice pudding dish I think was called bubar, which was black rice and coconut, and the second dish we ordered was a Banana coconut pancake to which I forget the name. Again I couldn't find fault if I tried another 10 out of 10. At the end of the meal we met owner and chef Ami, who came to chat. It was lovely speaking to the owners and their passion for the food and customer service was clear. We cannot wait until our next visit"

"No no no no! Chicken satay main course on the skewer was ordered, what was received was another matter. First of all instead of a separate sauce it was sploshed over top of chicken skewers in tub so it was virtually impossible to get meat...from skewers without it falling all over the floor. I use the word meat very loosely here, what was on the skewer resembled stringy rubber more than meat! The sauce was thick, globular, minimal with a few bits of under cooked onions thrown in no peppers etc as typical in a satay). This main course cost just under £10 and was swiftly put in the wheelie bin ! An eating experience I will not/ would hate to repeat ever again!"

"we have booked this online, not really know what to expect, but we were so glad we decided to eat here. South Indian food that is somewhat different, but so delicious and amazing. we went for the masala dosa to share how really wanted to try one and as they see in my pictures, it was massive and very delicious. we then went for the cure, which was suppe to then start various curries with rice and brot, then a creamy dessert that was not so sharp, but the rest of the food was amazing. it had a nice atmosphere, I am a beautiful environment with friendly staff who do not push them. definitiw one must try in the opposite and want to try South Indian food."
"Been probably around ten times with friends and family. Every meal there has been incredible, and the service is fantastic. Caters well for vegetarians and has a great variety of south Indian seafood dishes. The chilli fish is my default order, but everything I've tried has been delicious. Also have to shout out the Tarka Dhal, always thought this was quite bland in other restaurants, but it's among my favourites here, so creamy and packed full of flavour."

"After a disappointing start to our summer gastronomic tour, we made our way to Glasgow with a vague plan to find an Indian restaurant and rethink our week. Unaware of the cycling events in Glasgow, our train ride was reminiscent of the busy London rush hour underground system. Thankfully, we stumbled upon an old favorite, "Opium", even though it wasn't Indian. We decided to give it a try and were delighted by the fabulous staff, ambiance, food, and drink. We were relieved when a couple with three noisy children arrived and asked for a children's menu, only to be told there wasn't one. With peace restored, we enjoyed a leisurely and excellent meal with fair prices and great service. I would highly recommend this restaurant!"

"Very traditional upmarket Chinese Restaurant. Spaciously laid out, great staff, very good food. A bit pricey but certainly in the you get what you pay for category. Good selection of standard dishes plus a few more less common ones. A couple of set menus which work out cheaper. Good wine list. Will visit again Does takeaway food as well"

"This place got a great review in The Guardian so I thought I'd give it a try for Sunday Lunch. Journey from the burbs wasn't great...typical inner London journey...slow and unpleasant. And when you get there, parking is a bit of nightmare. Inside, it's not shabby chic....more shabby charity shop. Uncomfortable rickety chairs and tables. A bit grubby with dust and cobwebs evident. Drinks...I fancied an alcohol free beer but the prices....£6 for just over half a pint...a total rip off. Had a pint of Brick Session IPA instead....very nice pint for the same price. Roasts were OK. Plates were too small and piled high. Roast potatoes weren't great. No salt and pepper on the table. And again, what prices...nearly £19.50 for roast pork! Finished with coffee and an affogato which was ruined by being served in a tumbler. Had to ask for sugar for the coffee. Service was poor...unattentive on a relatively quiet Sunday lunchtime...but nevertheless attracted a 12.5% service charge! I won't be going back. And as the recession bites, I suspect that this place will struggle unless it up its game and lowers its prices."
