"While visiting London for the first time we knew we had to have Afternoon Tea. We chose The Brasserie for its proximity to Hyde Park and Kensington Palace, our destinations for the day. We had a lovely Afternoon Tea experience! The food was exceptional, tea was steaming, and the staff was so friendly. We couldn’t have asked for a better time!"

"Came here with a friend for restaurant week after years of wanting to try Vujon. We were not disappointed, we like to think we know our curries and in our opinion this was up there with one of the best. Beef Rogan was exceptional and comes highly recommended. Service was very good and the Manager/Owner (man in suit jacket) was very friendly and helpful as were all the waiters. Restaurant is clean with plenty of space. Toilets are immaculate (I always think this gives a good indication of any establishment). We will definitely be returning again! Huge thumbs up to Vujon see you again very soon!"

"This was our first time trying this restaurant and we absolutely loved everything we ordered. The portions were generous and the prices were very reasonable. The Korean Fried Chicken was the best we've had so far."

"Wonderful find whilst on our South Coast roadtrip. Cedic was waiting and Sheena was outside serving some wonderful food. No drinks licence but BYO. The mango kerabu salad was sharp , salty and sour just missing the crunch of the crushed peanuts.the chicken in pandan was moist tasty thigh chicken. Beef rending slow cooked beef chunks. Could imagine beef cheek working well in rendang. Very tasty is the aubergine brinjal soft and smokey. Roti telur as well to share, over excited wanting to try everything. No room for dessert but took a toasted coconut ice cream back. Highly recommended for authentic homecooked food"

"Stopped in for lunch. The service was very kind, the food was really really good (had the noodles, and the chicken curry), and portion size was filling. The puddings/pastries looked good but we didnt have space left. It's right in the centre of town so lots of people watching. There is plenty of street parking, or a 2hr free carpark just a block away. Definitely would come back, for a meal or for a coffee and pastry. Parking: street parking right in front, or free 2hr car park a block away"

"I love this place and have had the impressive vegan options on the menu. As a South Indian, I am generally curious to know how cuisines of regions around Kerala tastes like. And Colombo kitchen was the best way to get to know proper Sri Lankan Cuisine. Absolutely loved the unique Aubergine Moju, the hoppers, Dal, rice, gothambu wheat) roti we call them porotta in Kerala), stir fried beans and many more. It is brilliant what's on offer for vegans. I can only imagine how good their non vegan dishes would be. Ever since COVID 19 struck, we have been ordering take away and the quality of food has been absolutely first class every single time! This one time, however, we noticed that the jackfruit curry had a bit too much of oil in it, unsure why this happened and I hope this doesn't happen again. It was almost like the dish was inviting the United States for an invasion. We had to wipe off several table spoons of oil before we finally washed those plastic takeaway boxes. It was a lot for the dish, totally disproportionate. I am sure this is a one-off mistake and you probably, hurried up the cooking due to Friday evening madness. Now, would this stop me from ordering from here? No, it definitely will not stop me from ordering food from my favourite Sri Lankan place. We all make mistakes and I know this place is authentic and sincere and their love for cooking authentic delicious food, shows in their dishes! Please keep up the great work guys. We love what you do which is why take time to give you constructive feedback. Vegetarian options: Vegetarian and vegan lampraise. I am still unsure if they used paneer in the vegan lampraise."

"The Zen has always been one of our favourite restaurants we have been going for a few years. We have recommended this restraunt to lots of friends and family absolutely loved it. We went 3 weeks ago and wow what a disappointment, we always have the banquet we compared the pictures tp our last visit, the soup was half full and watery, the starter platter the chicken has shrunk, the mains the prawns are not as big as they used to be and the rice used to come with nuts raisins etc and this time it came plain in a small bowl. We left still hungry. I understand everything has risen in price but maybe put your price up rather than reduce the quality. I asked the waitress and she said we should of told them what rice we wanted...why would we when it's always been the same. Honestly we was not impressed and will not be returning, very disappointed. "Lovely evening, delicious food We the enjoyed the variety of gluten free options. Reasonable price Service was okay a bit slow on the drinks but understandable due to it being quite busy. Felt a little rushed at the end as tables had been booked overlapping being an all you can eat you’d expect a longer time slot than 1 hour 30 min especially when it took 15 minutes to take our first order. But over all a very enjoyable experience and will definitely be coming again Dietary restrictions: Good gluten free options Parking: Can park in the hollywell car park which is opposite, £3.50 for 2 hours or Rose hill for £3 for 2 hours (free after 8) which is about a 5 minute walk"

"Tukdin is an excellent Malaysian restaurant. If you 're in the Paddington area, don 't miss it. I was so delighted by it that I returned the following night. Over several years in SE Asia, I 'd travelled up and down peninsular Malaysia from Georgetown to Johore, as well as Malaysian Borneo and multiple visits to Singapore and Indonesia, with their Malay variations. The satay starter is excellent. (It 's not on skewers, but after all, you 're buying at a restaurant, not from a street vendor), The fish curry: also excellent, with a thick filet of fresh sea bass swimming in the spices. The Beef Rendang was also first-rate. The coconut rice is an excellent side for soaking up all the curry. So is their roti (which isn 't on their internet menu, but they do serve it). The lychee tea was a little disappointing: very mild. Still, I absolutely rate Tukdin 5 stars: excellent. The local Malay community (whether peninsular, archipelagic, or Peranakan) definitely likes this place: get there early to secure a table. The kitchen staff and wait-staff are both absolutely first-rate. The owners, cooks, and beautiful young lady who was our waitress, all get a giant Terima kasih! from me!"

"This is an honest and fair review Me and my partner came here on Saturday evening. This was our first time coming here, having lived in herne bay for 20+ years in quite surprised I haven't been before. But I must say, we was both left feeling disappointed. The food was good and so was the service , but the whole restaurant seriously lacks finesse. Where we was sat all you could see was the buildings from outside , which aren't the nicest looking buildings. So that instantly reminds you that you’re in the middle of town that is very run down. There was music on, but was so quiet and was like spa music (where’s the theme in this place? my gin and my partners beer both came in a tumbler glass, our meals was brought to us one by one just in hand (no tray? Or serving table you see where I’m going with this? Point is, it felt like we was sat in a cafe eating a dinner. I can’t understand what the theme of this place is? There is no theme. Such small adjustments to this place would change the game! • Proper glasses for the right drinks • Thai , Chinese style music • take the frosted glass on the window all the way up so you feel your somewhere else and not looking at those buildings • plants , Chinese Thai ornaments something to resemble the theme • candles on tables , meals brought with finesse etc etc etc. Other than this; everyone was really polite and friendly and food was good. But because of the reasons I have said I wouldn’t spend money on this place again. UNLESS it was to make adjustments. I really hope this review helps the business and takes this on board."

"Staying locally in a cottage, most decent local restaurants closed on Tuesday (and Methuen Arms had a leak in the kitchen). Decided to have a takeaway despite mixed reviews. There was plenty of food, we had the mixed starter for 2. The spring rolls were enormous but tasteless, the prawn toast stodgy and bland, the ribs were in a tasteless gravy, not much meat and fatty. For main courses we had Singapore spicy rice, there was loads, but it smelt and tasted of Chinese curry powder. The king po pork was very fatty and greasy, with tasteless veg. The szechuan chicken was, once again very bland, and not much chicken evident. A waste of ÂŁ40, but it was Chinese New Year today, perhaps the chef was on holiday!"

"This was our first experience eating in a few weeks ago and I couldn’t feel more uncomfortable when we entered. A very rude and disrespectful woman, short blondish hair), she looked like the owner. She looked at me up and down and failed to say hello- a look of why we were there. When I told her I had a reservation- she was stunned and was very dismissive and after I said we made a reservation she was rather perplexed. We were sat to the table and given one menu to start with. they had a large group dining too- so took up all the menus). There was a nice gentleman who I believe took our booking who was friendly- that’s your lot! Upon ordering, I had forgotten to order a small portion of egg fried rice and when I asked to place an order, the waitress who took our order snapped and said it will take a “long time”. It was for my 3 year old- rice is a staple dish, which does not involve extensive cooking also pre cooked) I found this pretty unreasonable, how could you deny a child food- they didn’t want us there. The food in general was good- however the staff and ambience was abysmal. As an owner, you should be welcoming and friendly- the woman who greeted us- was far from this. She did not want our business as she was seen to pander to the large group of customers she had in the restaurant. A real shame, given this could have been our new local. Note the owner: don’t dismiss people who are coming to your restaurant, we are the people who keep your restaurant going. I would really score this no stars for service or ambience. "Came here specifically to eat Hainanese Chicken Rice which did not disappoint. Tasted authentic. We also had roti canai as a starter which were really nice but a tad on the small side. Staff were friendly and the food came out pretty quickly. Would come here again."

"I have been wanting to visit here for ages but the stars have never aligned until Saturday. We were extremely lucky to get a walk in for the two of us. We were greeted by the owner and shown to a table. As we didn't have any drinks with us Peter suggested Tesco a few doors down and I was able to grab a bottle to enjoy with the meal. The service was wonderful and friendly and it felt like we had been going there for years, with just the right amount of care and advice. The food was exceptional from start to finish. We had the chicken satay and spring rolls to start and they were beautiful. The satay was amazing and was much darker in colour than any I have had before, but much better in flavour than any I have had before, I would definitely have these again. For main I had a chicken rendang and my wife ordered gule monkfish. The rendang was again perfect for my tastes. Spicy but flavourful with a generous portion that would satisfy the majority of eaters. I would have had seconds, even though I was stuffed because it was so good. I can't comment too much on the monkfish as I have a dislike of seafood, but my wife raved about it and said she's having the same again next time without question. So I think that sums it up. We finished with deserts of a rice pudding dish I think was called bubar, which was black rice and coconut, and the second dish we ordered was a Banana coconut pancake to which I forget the name. Again I couldn't find fault if I tried another 10 out of 10. At the end of the meal we met owner and chef Ami, who came to chat. It was lovely speaking to the owners and their passion for the food and customer service was clear. We cannot wait until our next visit"

"Had an amazing time at this restaurant! The vibes are laid-back, but the food is seriously on point. From starters to dessert, everything hit the spot. The staff is super chill and friendly, making you feel right at home. They've got a vast selection of dishes, and each one is like a flavor explosion. The place has a cool, relaxed atmosphere – perfect for catching up with friends or a date night. Definitely coming back for more tasty bites and good times! Vegetarian options: The variety is impressive, with options that go beyond the usual suspects. Each dish is a celebration of fresh, vibrant flavors. From hearty mains to inventive salads, they've nailed the balance of wholesome and delicious. Even if you're not a full-time veggie enthusiast, this menu will make you a believer."

"After a disappointing start to our summer gastronomic tour, we made our way to Glasgow with a vague plan to find an Indian restaurant and rethink our week. Unaware of the cycling events in Glasgow, our train ride was reminiscent of the busy London rush hour underground system. Thankfully, we stumbled upon an old favorite, "Opium", even though it wasn't Indian. We decided to give it a try and were delighted by the fabulous staff, ambiance, food, and drink. We were relieved when a couple with three noisy children arrived and asked for a children's menu, only to be told there wasn't one. With peace restored, we enjoyed a leisurely and excellent meal with fair prices and great service. I would highly recommend this restaurant!"

"I first visited this restaurant in 1983 as a 9-year-old. Back then Chinese cuisine was super-exotic and the Jade Fountain (as it was known then) was the only game in town. We loved it from the very first visit. Over the years, I must have been back at least a hundred times and I have never, ever been disappointed. The food is exceptional, the service flawless and the owner a wonderfully kind and friendly man. Our latest visit was as enjoyable as ever. My wife and I took our son (the 4th generation of our family to enjoy the Jade) and, as ever, the experience was delightful. For delicious, high quality, reasonably priced Chinese food that is beautifully presented you cannot do better. Can’t wait for my next visit."

"Perhaps in keeping with other recent reviews, we had some problems confirming our large group booking, and like so many places, the whole covid and brexit situation has probably impacted on admin efficiency. However, staff were very pleasant and helpful when we rang to make...sure our arrangements were confirmed, and we had an excellent long lunch for a large group under the awning in the Alma's garden. The food is of excellent restaurant quality as before, and service was friendly and chatty. Thus we think this remains one of the best SE London places to have really high quality and interesting food in a classic pub environment. The outside area is very pleasant and was kept at a very reasonable temperature by the gas heaters, though it is now mostly closed off but with probably enough remaining ventilation to be significantly better than indoors."

"There was no alcohol available on the lunch menu, and I’m unsure if the evening menu includes drinks. Additionally, there were no desserts listed. While we waited, our coffees took quite some time to arrive, and by 1:10 PM, the final meal was served with a reminder that we needed to finish by 1:30 PM. The food was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. We didn’t use the restrooms, so I can’t comment on their availability or location. Having read other reviews, we were expecting a good experience, and overall, we enjoyed our visit, though we would have appreciated a bit more time to savor our meals. On a side note, we parked in the lot behind the bus station and were puzzled by the numerous cars along the access road. When it came time to pay, we discovered that there was no cash option, only card payments, which proved a bit tricky for us. Thankfully, a kind gentleman offered guidance on how to complete the transaction, so be warned if you’re not very tech-savvy like us!"
