"there was only one person who saw all diners and therefore the service was quite slow, but since we were in no hurry, was not too much of a problem, but he was rushed by his feet. we were not told that the kitchen had run out of potatoes and therefore we would be kicked with some of our meals that had changed our choice of the teller and that was disappointing. the food was good and we got free coffee, but only a little disappointed."

"We have had three meals at this restaurant (before and after Covid) and have also ordered takeout twice to try a variety of items on the menu. The restaurant has a wonderful atmosphere, with friendly staff and quick service. Standout dishes include the cauliflower popcorn, buffalo soldiers (halloumi), burgers, corn, and fries (both regular and ranch). The sauces and portion sizes are top-notch. On a recent visit with a vegan friend, we found that the fillings in the tacos were small and the fries were more like chips with mayo. This was disappointing as it was the only negative experience we've had at the restaurant. While there are several vegan-friendly options on the menu, it would be great to see more variety for vegans and larger portion sizes."

"Absolute stonker of a pub/restaurant. The pub is upstairs on the Broad St level, and the restaurant (which also has a bar) is down one level towards Gas St and the canal. The food is fantastic, and surprisingly inexpensive. The waiting staff are great chatty and efficient and the atmosphere is cracking. We were sat near the bar, but still had plenty of space for dining."

"I've visited this restaurant several times, and the food and service are both excellent. However, I have one complaint about the background music. I don’t understand why restaurateurs feel that a meal must be accompanied by music that makes conversation difficult. It’s particularly challenging for me, as I have a hearing issue and had to ask for the volume to be lowered, which they did. But honestly, soft background music should suffice—there’s no need for someone belting out songs. When this happens, which is often these days, I just want to leave."

"Very very disappointing Sunday lunch. We ordered a selection of roasts, fish n chips and a few starters, however were left incredibly disappointed. Everything was burnt, see pictures, specially the gnocchi. I couldn't believe you could burn gnocchi until we dined at the establishment. The service was non existent as well. Even though only 3 tables were occupied, food took over 45 mins to arrive. I guess they required more time to burn everything. The only rationale for getting more than one star, was the location. Nice venue by the cricket ground with good background 80s sing along music was their only saving grace After providing feedback to management , it was nonchantly rebuked. Unfortunately pictures don't lie and a plate of charred food is what remains ..."
