"We arrived in good time for our reservation having traveled up from London. Our table had a window view of the canal and tow path. Our waiter was friendly and was able to give us information on our choice of dishes. Our starters were quite good although the prawns were smothered in too much sauce which made for rather messy eating. Our main dishes were traditional British fare and included the Fish and Chips with mushy peas which were good and served in good time. The evening went well as the restaurant section of the pub filled up and this lead to a nice ambiance. The bill for four was quite reasonable considering we enjoyed two bottles of their New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. We would certainly go back when we are in Birmingham again."

Old style pub alongside the canal. We went for a pre-theatre meal, it's only 10 minutes from the Rep. Simple good food served by extremely friendly and helpful staff. They seemed to have a lot of regulars who were greeted as old friends- always a good sign. Would happily return.

we ate in this restaurant over uen table for a New Year's Pre-Club menu made aware of its existence. what a jewel of a money. great service, excellent beer, so my man told me and eat good value for money. steak and swirl rings can definitely be recommended as the frits. would go back and recommend to friends for a casual night out.
