"Went there with a friend. Very friendly service, nice atmosphere, just the price is a bit expensive. I had salmon as main and then Nutella profiteroles for dessert. Salmon is perfectly cooked. Barely cooked without destroying the fine texture of the salmon. Side plate with cherry tomatoes, clams, and potatoes chunks with butter and sea salt makes the taste never boring. Nutella profiteroles has a cookie on top of vanilla ice-cream on a freshly bake fluffy cake. Sprinkled with freshly roasted hazelnut with a small cup of hot chocolate to drizzle on your dessert. When eat with all portion together, the crisp cookie provides biting texture, vanilla ice cream gives the sweet and cold sensation, immediately follow by hot fluffy cake, roasted hazelnut, and chocolate liquid. The perfect balance of hot and cold sensation from ice cream and freshly bake cake gives the tongue in bliss. The sweetness of the vanilla ice cream is balanced with slightly salty cookie, making it never dull to eat every bite. The waiters and waitresses couldn’t be nicer. My friends plate was not how he wanted. She properly sent it back to the kitchen, and kept us informed how long it would take so we are at ease. Overall, great friendly service, and delicious food. Only comes with a high bill at the end."

"We have eaten at Olivo on several occasions and had a lovely lunch. However, how anyone gets a table now is beyond me! We put in an online request and a reply came back saying our request was 'pending '. As there was no reply after a few days I rang the restaurant . My name and email was taken and they confirmed they would look into this and get back to me that day. Nothing! We rang again. Apparently as the manager wasn 't in no one else could help, but someone would ring back. Again no phone call. We sent a follow up email asking what was going on and still no reply. We have now booked our party elsewhere and will not be repeating this experience! Olivo you need to sort out both your online booking service and your customer service as both appear to be a total failure!"

"Having been an occasional but regular patron of S&P for over 40 years, I was disappointed to find that the familiar team had disappeared. My disappointment gave way to horror when I saw the menu prices, many of which appeared to have doubled since my 2022 visit ….. most disappointing of all, the dishes I chose were less well prepared than they had been before. On the positive side, the welcome from all staff, and the new maitre D, was warm and charming. The streetside terrace was nicely presented and most inviting. And we much appreciated a carafe of limoncello offered to finish our meal. Still have affection for the old place, but in my new retired status at these prices I shall have to think twice about a future visit. A special two or three course lunch price (not offered) may well have made the difference…"

"I’ve been to Giovanni’s three times in the space of three days only because the Capricciosa Pizza was SO delicious, and I wanted to have it again!! On the third night I had the parmigiana di melanzane, and it was fabulous as well. My partner had the minestrone soup and spaghetti bolognese, and he was equally impressed. The food is really very good, and the service is impressive. Especially if you’re lucky enough to have Izzy as your waitress, you’re in luck! She will look after you and make sure that you have the most delightful dining experience. Whenever I return to Knutsford, I will ensure to eat here again!! "Incredibly disappointing. Nothing inventive here, just going through the paces and picking up tourists like us in the process. not sure how they garner the reviews they do. There was nothing wrong with our food, it was all prepared adequately, served adequately...but for what it was, we could have done much, much better! "My wife and I make it a point to have a meal out at least once a month. Our previous experiences at this restaurant have been very good. We started with appetizers as usual, but when I ordered a medium rare filet steak, it came out well-done. I was disappointed to hear the staff try to convince me that it was cooked to the correct temperature. I shouldn't have to explain the difference between medium rare and well-done. Eventually, they replaced my steak with a medium rare one, but only after my wife had finished her meal."

"my wife and I try to get a meal at least once a month, previous visits here were very good. starter were in order, but I ordered a medium rare filet steak for my head, got my steak, which was done well, mistakes happen, but try to tell me that the steak was medium rare was just frustrating, I should not explain the difference, so replaced my steak with a medium rare, although after my wife had finished her meal."

"My husband and I visited last night,a very warm welcome as soon as we entered the restaurant, lovely busy atmosphere too. We shared the Antipasti which was generous. I had a delicious ceaser salad and my husband had chilli pasta which was also scrumptious! Only a little room left to share a pudding. We didn’t feel rushed at all which was nice . The price was good considering what we have spent in other eateries whilst away and this meal was by far the best ! Would definitely go back and happy to recommend to friends and family."

"7 of us for dinner, we had a reservation, but it didn't seem there would have been much of a wait on a Sunday evening. Prices are slightly higher than we expected, but well worth it!!The atmosphere was casual and relaxed, everyone in our party commented at one time or another during the evening how much we loved the music! Great playlist, but not too loud for conversation. The staff was incredibly friendly & helpful with the menu. We asked our server for appetizer recommendations and loved them all - the caprese was fantastic! We had several pizzas, the butternut squash pasta was popular as well as the other pasta dishes. Of note to American travelers - the men and women's restrooms share a common washroom completely separate facilities, but you come into a nice open area to wash your hands. There is also smoking allowed on the patio, the windows were all open because the weather was so beautiful but the smoke from outside was quite noticeable inside."

"Great pizzeria with real Italian vibe. It is always full which is a very good sign so try to get there early as possible. Pizzas are delicious and clay-oven baked so they have that typical Italian taste that fast food ones doesn't. The oven is at the back of the restaurant so you can actually see when the pizzas are taken out of it once ready. I have also had the Carpaccio di Manzo (raw filet slices), the Gamberoni Frittii (fried shimps with garlic) and the Linguini alle Vongole (pasta with tomato sauce and clams) and they were all delicious."

"I went with my Italian woman to ciao napoli to lunch in the last summer. the food was excellent and the service was also excellent. I want to go back. "Honestly disappointed, service was poor, we was not greeted properly. It was completely dead in the restaurant yet nobody came up to us and asked if our food was okay. Had the bare minimum in terms of service yet was charged a 12% service fee. Wild honestly. Had some cheese grated into my drink when getting it out onto my food. Didn’t get offered a new drink the waiter kinda just walked away. Food was decent though like the meat was tasty but the pasta was undercooked a bit. In my opinion considering how quiet it was I was expecting better. Staff were just kinda rude."

"Great Italian food cooked with care. I took my wife out for our anniversary. We used to go to family run Italian restaurant for the last 20 years. Unfortunately they have closed down. It was good Italian family cooking done with care and passion. I have been looking for that and may have found in at Connubio. The food was fantastic and the service was ok. It is a little pricy but we are talking proper home made food. The restaurant ambience is not modern and chic but rather slightly old school. Just like my old Italian restaurant. The emphasis is on the food. Everything was home made including the pasta. I will be returning and hopefully it will become our regular."

Before I commented on their dishes, I would like to say that the server were exceptional! they were very attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and more. our experience here was much better because of the staff. for eating! "this cozy restaurant offers them a lot of fantastically arranged and a five-star service. I was there for the first time yesterday and really enjoyed it! the food is very tasty and very presented and I can say that the ingredients are very fresh. fabio and the other staff are professional and very friendly and provide a first-class service. it is worth trying their fried corgettes as well as the gamberoni and of course their pizza, which is only divine! "We arrived in good time for our reservation having traveled up from London. Our table had a window view of the canal and tow path. Our waiter was friendly and was able to give us information on our choice of dishes. Our starters were quite good although the prawns were smothered in too much sauce which made for rather messy eating. Our main dishes were traditional British fare and included the Fish and Chips with mushy peas which were good and served in good time. The evening went well as the restaurant section of the pub filled up and this lead to a nice ambiance. The bill for four was quite reasonable considering we enjoyed two bottles of their New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. We would certainly go back when we are in Birmingham again."
