"The best italian restaurant in london. Visited Olive Garden on Saturday 21st September for the first time with my family as we just moved to Southfields recently. I was shoked the restaurant was absolutely packed, but they told us to wait and in few min we had our table ready. The service was very good, very professional and very quick. They really worked very hard. Food delicious, perfectly cooked. My housband had a fish from specials the best fish he had in ages. I had spaghetti marinara was recommenede by waiter and yes indeed verry good dish and very nice portion of seafood. Children very happy, very nice children menu for a very good price. I loved it. We will be back every week from...read more"

"we were often here a lot, but after it was renovated, we returned and the old staff was no longer there and the service was a bit slow and I had served my pasta dish almost cold when it was hot. when we went back after a few months, it was a Saturday night and there were 3 waiting staff, service was very slow and not as friendly as before, but their choice of mozzarellas are still amazing, therefore we go back. the food is freshly cooked, but there is no atmosphere and as I said, service is hit and miss. pity, will try another two."

"The night didn 't get off to a good start as we were seated upstairs which was empty except for us so the atmosphere was non existent we felt treated like second class citizens. We were told there would be other people arriving but they never did. My partner asked for the vegan menu to be told there wasn 't one. When I insisted it was showing on line they suddenly found it! I had the bruschetta as a starter all I could taste was raw garlic a lump of which was in my salad. The wine was very good as was the bream I had for the main course. My partner described his vegetarian dish as weird with random large lumps of unidentifiable vegetables. We 've eaten here before had a great time but this was an utter disappointment, leaving a special celebration completely flat."

"Great pizzeria with real Italian vibe. It is always full which is a very good sign so try to get there early as possible. Pizzas are delicious and clay-oven baked so they have that typical Italian taste that fast food ones doesn't. The oven is at the back of the restaurant so you can actually see when the pizzas are taken out of it once ready. I have also had the Carpaccio di Manzo (raw filet slices), the Gamberoni Frittii (fried shimps with garlic) and the Linguini alle Vongole (pasta with tomato sauce and clams) and they were all delicious."

"My wife and I have been going to Posillipo in Canterbury for the past seven years, and in that time no other establishment has been able to usurp its preeminence as our favourite restaurant in the city. Any reviewers who complain about the quality of the food (especially the pizzas and the homemade pasta dishes) are most likely not accustomed to authentic Italian cuisine. As a man of Italian descent (and with the whole-hearted agreement with my genuine Italian friends in Canterbury), I maintain that Posillipo offers the best, most authentic Italian food in the area. As is often the case with real Italian restaurants, the menu is also very reasonably priced. The staff is superb, always making my wife and I feel like honoured guests, attentively seeing to our needs, and never making us feel in any way rushed. The restaurant is conveniently located in the centre of town, close to both the cathedral and the Marlowe Theatre. In short, I cannot recommend this establishment enough, and I always find it difficult to understand why anyone would pass up Posillipo for one of the mediocre (at best) pseudo-Italian chains that populate the High Street."

"Honestly disappointed, service was poor, we was not greeted properly. It was completely dead in the restaurant yet nobody came up to us and asked if our food was okay. Had the bare minimum in terms of service yet was charged a 12% service fee. Wild honestly. Had some cheese grated into my drink when getting it out onto my food. Didn’t get offered a new drink the waiter kinda just walked away. Food was decent though like the meat was tasty but the pasta was undercooked a bit. In my opinion considering how quiet it was I was expecting better. Staff were just kinda rude."

"I visited Authentico with friends and had a wonderful experience; the food and service were exceptional. Sadly, when I took my husband there for the first time, we encountered some issues. The food was just as delicious as I remembered, but the restaurant was clearly struggling with staffing, and we faced long wait times both for our table and for our meal. While this could have dampened our spirits, the authentic Italian food and wine remained the highlights of our visit, which is why we choose this place over a chain restaurant. It would have been helpful to receive a heads-up about the potential delays in service."

"I recently visited Ritorno with a friend for a dinner. The atmosphere was intimate and the modernized interior was extremely fashionable. The terrace surrounding the restaurant, besides the huge representation of Italian wines behind the bar, there was an authentic feeling. The service was very friendly and friendly. Ritornos specializations presented in small, tapas-style dishes, very elegant. For the starters we had the Pizza Fritta, a charcoal pizza, accompanied by a Camembert cheese fondant, which is an ideal serving size for a entrée and tasted fantastic! The main thing consisted of Fassona beef tars, tuna tars with avocado and avocado cream, grilled octopus with Sicilian ratatouille, slowly baked beef with Ragu Tagliatelle, meerrot salmon and serrated spinach, Turnip Langoustine ragu with homemade cavatelli, pistachios of bronte and one side of the flower coal. All these dishes were freshly prepared and had a real taste of genuine Italian cuisine. There wasn't too much of any court and I couldn't make any mistakes. Then the homemade apple tea came with vanilla ice cream for dessert, which is the perfect sweet to finish the meal. The fact that it is homemade (and tasty) was really added to the general authenticity of the restaurant. We had a nice evening in Ritorno’s and would recommend it to friends! It was warm and welcoming and the food was not disappointed. My only regret is that I no longer tried the famous cocktails they are proud of and that looked amazing. I can't wait to come back soon!"

"Venue suited our visit to the London Palladium. Staff lovely; helpful and friendly but not overly so. Food and venue average Spagetti House in this really quite small but pleasant restaurant. Service prompt. The downside was the lack of toilet facilities. The ladies was so small that there was barely 3cms between the door and the pan! Awkward to negotiate at the best of times but anyone 'larger than average ' would fine it really difficult. Only a single loo for men and another for women. Might have been worth considering having two unisex loos. Would only recommend with provision"

"eat, terrible service. I'm dining out all the time (as have been working in high-class catering facilities for years) and I can honestly say that I've never been treated like that. I wanted to dinner with my brother a few months ago. after the payment I asked the waiter to bring us two coffees and two grappas to finish our meal. without any warning and without explanation, the waiter refused to serve us the grappas. and he did this in an insulting personality and fraudulent wise. the manager, who laughed from behind the bar, let me be quite clear: while we had a few beers on the afternoon, we were not in any wise form...read more"

"For my starter, I chose the beef carpaccio, which was disappointingly minimal—just four wafer-thin slices of beef. However, the real issue arose with the main course. Both my wife and I ordered the beef medallions, and I do enjoy beef! The menu indicated that all dishes came with vegetables and potatoes. While we received some vegetables on our plates, there were no potatoes. When I inquired about this, I was met with some blank stares before being offered chips. I had to point out the mention of potatoes on the menu, and the waiter hurried off to the kitchen. He returned a few minutes later stating that the potatoes were boiling and would be ready shortly. At that point, we had nearly finished our other food, so we declined the offer. There was a half-hearted apology, but no offer to adjust the bill. To add insult to injury, they included a service charge, which I refused to pay—something I've never done before. I really wanted to enjoy La Meridiana, but the experience was awful. If it weren't for the comical, Fawlty Towers-like mishaps, it would have genuinely ruined a much-anticipated Mother's Day."

"Maaroni is my local as it is less than a 5-minute walk from me. Not only have I eaten here a countless number of times since it opened, I also get takeaways from here often. Unfortunately, this was the first time I had ever been left feeling very disappointed. To begin with, I was given a bottle of sparkling water with no glass, let alone lemon/ice/straw. Had to ask for a glass I was not going to drink out of a big bottle. It was difficult to explain things to our waitress, especially as we wanted to remove some pizza toppings and add on others; I had to show her the menu with toppings written down so that she could catch the spellings. Moreover, I requested for cacio e pepe, and the waitress confirmed that the chefs would be able to make anything off-menu. I had to explain what the dish was, and showed the waitress the list of ingredients for it. She went back and forth several times to the chef and I, and ultimately said that the kitchen did not have pecorino cheese. I said that that could be substituted for the next best thing, as long as the sauce was creamy, cheesy, buttery and peppery. When the dish arrived, it was a buttery spaghetti with a lump of cheese in the top. At this point, another waitress began to serve our table. Let her know that the cheese should be almost melted in; she took the dish back for it to be re-made which took a long time, by which point we had nearly finished our mains. After our mains we were told that we need to leave within 15 minutes, and we were not given dessert menus nor did we request the bill, it just arrived. I had brought my aunt and uncle to Macaroni for the first time and they were looking forward to dessert. It was highly embarrassing that this option was not even offered, and even more embarrassing that we were rushed off the table. There were 5 of us, 1hr 45mins is not enough time for a relaxed 3-course meal. If the restaurant is unable to honour a 3-course meal for 5 people, they should not confirm the booking."

"Great place to eat if you have a craving for authentic italian pizza. I went with a couple of friends and had a nice time. "we sat outside in the restaurant because of kovid, unfortunately my handy was stolen by a person who came on our table. without any employee outside, or safety gift this is an insecure environment and I would warn others to eat outside. soon after a watchman of another facility (via the road) came over and warned me of the opposite and a laptop on the table (I had withdrawn to use my laptop to get in contact with the family after my handy) I tried to talk to the staff and the manager who would be totally inadequate, insensitive and repulsive of the incident with many beautiful restaurants that I would recommend to the"

"Our table was laid ready and waiting for us, but the tables were incredibly close to each other and we chatted to diners next to us as we were seated so closely. Salmon and Fennel was very disappointing and, although the side order of chips was fine, there was no vegetables to order with my meal. Desserts were very good. Service OK, but needed to attract staff at times to progress our order. Perfectly situated for our concert at The London Palladium and very grateful to have our table reserved, but main meals underwhelming."

"I booked a table on OpenTable a few days before our visit, but I was disappointed when we arrived. There was no record of our reservation, and unfortunately, there was no space available for us, despite the waiter acknowledging my email confirmation. I would recommend 'La Piazza' down the road, which was excellent; they managed to find us a table even though they were very busy."
