"We arrived in good time for our reservation having traveled up from London. Our table had a window view of the canal and tow path. Our waiter was friendly and was able to give us information on our choice of dishes. Our starters were quite good although the prawns were smothered in too much sauce which made for rather messy eating. Our main dishes were traditional British fare and included the Fish and Chips with mushy peas which were good and served in good time. The evening went well as the restaurant section of the pub filled up and this lead to a nice ambiance. The bill for four was quite reasonable considering we enjoyed two bottles of their New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. We would certainly go back when we are in Birmingham again."

"I don’t recommend coming here unless you plan on partying all night. Myself and my partner came for a 1 night staycation on Valentine’s Day. When we arrived we were blown away by the customer service at the front desk and the interiors in the room. When we came back to the room for the night, there was a lot of noise in the hotel from around 9pm onwards. We didn’t mind this at first as it was still quite early in the evening. We were woken up from 3am-7.30am as there was people slamming doors in the hallway, talking very loudly and playing music in the rooms next to us. We were shocked how management could allow this. It sounded like there was 6 people or more in the room next to us drinking and playing music. We came to the dean for a relaxing night away but unfortunately we came home exhausted . We understood when we booked the hotel that there was nightclubs nearby but the issue wasn’t the outside noise it was the noise inside which was insanely loud. I mentioned this at the front desk when we were checking out and they seemed shocked and said they do walks of the hallways during the night but the noise was so loud I didn’t understand how they couldn’t have heard it. They offered to compensate us with brunch in Sophie’s rooftop which we appreciated but we turned down as we wanted to leave. Overall, lovely interiors and customer service but it is definitely more of a partying hotel than a relaxing quiet one. Unfortunately we won’t be back."

"I apologize for my English. My review will be divided into The cuisine is just incredible. We tried steak, fish and chicken. Serving, taste, on top, thank you. What I didn't like was where we sat, we sat between the refrigerators and the shelves of the store. We wanted to sit with people in a large hall. This diminished our impressions a bit. I didn't understand the cheese plate, I expected Scottish cheeses, but there were parmesan and brie on the plate, I didn't know they were made in Scotland. I was expecting local cheeses. Dessert: we tried panacotta, unfortunately, neither the consistency nor the taste was impressive. The service was very polite and pleasant. Thanks"

"So happy we have found that place! Absolutely delicious food! It's all so fresh and cooked to perfection. The owners and team are lovely. Our meal was a true highlight of our few days stay in Sidmouth. We are thinking we might come back just to this restaurant again. It will absolutely worth two hours drive. Thank you! "I recently stayed at this charming pub with friends for four nights to celebrate my birthday. It has a lot of character and the staff were incredibly friendly. The accommodation was excellent, and there was a great selection for breakfast, as well as a varied dinner menu. I will definitely be returning and would wholeheartedly recommend it to family and friends. Lastly, a big shout-out to Kim—she is truly an asset to The Ship Inn!"

"Had dinner here prior to going to the theatre. Glad we booked as busy . Service was efficient meant we had time to share a desert which we were pleased about as when portions of tiramassu passed our table earlier in the evening looked yummy and it was . Also enjoyed an expresso kept me awake well during the performance and on the drive home Not cheap but worth it for the occasional treat. "Finally freshly made delicious food in Latchingdon!! And sorry to anyone that offends, but as a vegetarian it was so great to have veggie and vegan options, that actually had flavour and felt part of the menu (not just an after thought). This tasty food, served by super friendly staff, with a cold beer wine, in an environment where all are welcome, it’s an absolute winning combination! Thanks to Uncle Bucks and the amazing team at the Red Lion for the perfect Friday night! We can’t wait to be back already!"

"We ate there as a group of eight on a Friday evening. Very nicely laid out place with a great interior and tasteful decor. Waiting staff were all really nice and attentive and knew the menu inside out. Myself and my partner were really happy to see they had a vegetarian/vegan option for main and starter and also three other plant based options on request. They happily veganised some side vegatable options we ordered for the group table and nothing was made to feel like an extra chore. Everyone else was happy with their meat dishes so thumbs up all round. Portions were very generous and all the food was local fresh and very delicious. Top marks and many thanks. Would definitely recommend and return again if in the area in the future."

"I took my mom out for her birthday to this wonderful restaurant. The ambience was lovely and I highly recommend trying the Bay Tree Rossini - it was delicious. I would definitely return. The service, meal type, dinner, and price per person were all great. I rated the food, service, and atmosphere a 5 out of 5. I recommend trying the Steak Rossini."

"I was really excited to try this place. I like the way it's been designed but in Winter it's a bit cold so we had to keep our jackets stayed on. The tomato bread was great but unfortunately the rest of the food was really average, especially the Jamon. I think it's better to come here just for drinks."

"Absolutely amazing from start to finish. My girlfriend booked for my birthday. We‘re both vegan and everything we had was delicious- esp the lasagne! They even have vegan Parmesan!! Not only this but the wines were labelled vg too. We went midweek and although we were running late and had to push the table back, we never felt rushed. Really enjoyable experience and relaxed atmosphere. To top it all off, they brought out a sorbet at the end of our meal and had wrote happy birthday in a fruity sauce. Highly recommend this restaurant Thank you so much."

"This is a lovely historic pub/restaurant tucked away in a little side alley. The bar area was quite busy for a Sunday evening and we were shown to a table in the dining room on first floor which has an outside terrace. We chose from set menu which was excellent. Service was friendly and professional. We could only manage two courses but enjoyed a coffee on the terrace to finish. I would have given 5 stars but the ladies toilets were a disgrace. Broken toilet seat, overflowing bins and not very clean. It's a real shame because everything else was perfect."

"I took my mother to the Two Sisters restaurant for her birthday last Sunday. We were immediately greeted and informed about the brunch options (i.e. buffet versus brunch specials and other adjustments, such as turkey bacon instead of pork). I think this is a great place for a relaxed brunch and definitely for a mother-daughter date. We loved the food and the service. We drove to a Groupon and will definitely drive again without the Groupon. Worth it."

"The new lunch menu isn 't great, I loved the old one where you could get a smashed cheeseburger and fries for £7/8. I ordered recently, had the chicken thigh burger, which there were several issues with unfortunately. The menu states that your meals will come with fries, they don 't, everything comes with croquette potatoes/tater tots. Whatever you want to call them, they are not fries, and Christina 's fries were one of the best things about the place before! Also, half of mine were cold and slightly stale after obviously being kept in the new warmers they have out front. Your new style of service is very strange, where the person is out front and all the food is pre-cooked and kept in pots. The fact I was there for nearly 40 mins and saw the server never change his gloves and touch multiple meats and containers was strange too, especially when he 's also preparing vegetarian options alongside the meat. Unfortunately, my chicken was dry in places and although the flavours were good, it wasn 't hot. The burger was also drowned in coleslaw, which although I like it, doesn 't have to be heaped on the burger so much. Also, sorry but at £11 £4 higher than the previous lunch deal) I think I would go elsewhere. I don 't mind paying that much if I feel I am getting fresh, hot food and good value, but with food that isn 't hot and isn 't as described, I wouldn 't pay that much. It 's a shame, as Christina 's has been somewhere I have enjoyed going to in the past. Seen the reply below, sorry I should have been more explicit, the food was mostly terrible and mostly cold. Why would I give it another go when you couldn 't even get the basics right, like ensuring food is hot? The server didn 't change his gloves, but agree that he wasn 't preparing the vegetarian dishes out front, so I was wrong about that. However, £11 isn 't competitive at all, when I can literally go to Ripple road for a sit in Turkish grill for £7... "

"A friend had been raving about Peperina and their different brunch choices so said I'd book a table for Saturday. The waiter came to take the order and I ordered the pizza ranchera. Sorry not available, ok I'll have the Spanish breakfast. He went off and placed the order. 5 mins later another staff member came over and said they don't have the Spanish breakfast. It should have been indicated when providing the menu that certain items are not available. At 11:45 for brunch you would expect a decent selection. We asked for a large bottle of sparkling water and were told they're also not available at the moment. I asked for the Victorian breakfast without relish. My husband then ordered relish with his breakfast and he was charged €2 for it. Service was ok, we got our drinks at the same time as our main which is strange and another man nearby had to ask twice for his coffee. Bill came to €40 for a full breakfast, Victorian breakfast and 2 sparkling waters and the portion of relish. Price is ok as the portions are decent but experience overall was underwhelming."

"Went here for a birthday meal. Won't visit again. 10 on the table. No drinks order being taken. Took 30 mins to take food order. Yorkshire puddings were rock hard. Not enough gravy had to ask for more. Wasn't offered sauces again gad to ask. Waited 30 mins for plates to be taken away asked for tea and coffees. Took 30 mins to make then didn't bring milk or spoons had to ask for them. Just a main meal Took 2 1/2 hours. Rude staff who are not attentive at all."
