"The food was excellent and the service excellent. The dessert menu cannot be overlooked. We ordered chocolate cake, bread pudding with vanilla sauce and freshly fried churros with dulce de leche sauce. It was very difficult to choose one of the three as favorites."

"We arrived in good time for our reservation having traveled up from London. Our table had a window view of the canal and tow path. Our waiter was friendly and was able to give us information on our choice of dishes. Our starters were quite good although the prawns were smothered in too much sauce which made for rather messy eating. Our main dishes were traditional British fare and included the Fish and Chips with mushy peas which were good and served in good time. The evening went well as the restaurant section of the pub filled up and this lead to a nice ambiance. The bill for four was quite reasonable considering we enjoyed two bottles of their New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. We would certainly go back when we are in Birmingham again."

"I treated my mother to a birthday brunch at Two Sisters restaurant last Sunday. As soon as we arrived, we were warmly welcomed and given information about the brunch options, including the buffet and special brunch dishes. They even accommodated our request for turkey bacon instead of pork. I believe this is a perfect spot for a leisurely brunch, especially for a mother-daughter outing. We thoroughly enjoyed the delicious food and top-notch service. We originally used a Groupon for our visit, but we plan on returning even without it. The experience was definitely worth it."

"Great place for dinner, my friends and I, we had a great experience at Sophie’s on last Saturday. The cocktails and the food were absolutely amazing. I had the gnocchi, and I’d definitely order again. The place has a nice atmosphere, it doesn’t even look like we were in Dublin, and the service was impeccable. We were served by a nice and friendly asian lady, who took good care of us. The management was also good, we arrived at the front desk and we didn’t wait too long to go to our table, everything was prepared and waiting for us. Everyone was very professional."

"We had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting. We decided to try the venison Wellington with dauphinoise potatoes, kale, and wild mushrooms, which we shared. As we waited, we enjoyed some homemade soda bread and butter, along with a complimentary glass of prosecco. The meal was superb and the flavors were delightful. For dessert, we both had creme brulee with rhubarb and shortbread, which was absolutely delicious. We will definitely be returning to this restaurant in the future."

"Lost count how many times we have visited Sidmouth, and one of the main reasons for going is down to Neil 's Restaurant, which in itself says it all. Last week we only managed 3 visits trying to go through the menu, spoilt for choice. We have never been disappointed with any course ever. In fact quite the opposite. The food is freshly cooked with some gentle exquisite sources, plenty of fresh vegetables and special deserts. The staff are great, efficient and friendly, its a great atmosphere. Super quality food at a sendible and reasonable price. One of the telling points is that they were full every night they were open, which is why we could only get in 3 times, luckily we had booked the 3 well in advance. Its an asset to Sidmouth, and you could well understand if estate agents put them as a local asset in the amenities of the particulars of property for sale, could increase the region 's already high property prices, wish we lived near by."

"We were really looking forward to this reservation as we have heard about Rosa Madre for a long time. Little details like the cutlery, wine glasses and plates as second to none. The hostess was friendly and welcoming. The decor was nice and cosy but i think for a table of 2 you're kind of shoved down the side where it was very busy as the kitchen was at the other end. Now for the food... Prawn starter was tasty, plenty of prawns, maybe a bit too much going on with the sauces had like 3 maybe 4 different varieties of tastes. The burrata was one of the nicest we have ever eaten The mains we got Cavatelli with Sausages Ragu and a fillet steak. We got a bottle of Primitivo which was delicious and complimented the food really well. We didnt get desert but the knew it was my wives birthday so they brought us out a tiramisu and it was SO light and tasty im not a desert fan or coffee but i have to say it was really really nice. Thank you Rosa Madre"

"Where can the current menu be found ? Update 6/12/23 Called in for lunch yesterday around 13.30 had trouble finding a parking space, luckily a couple who were shopping across the road, not from the Red Lion went back to their car and vacated the space for us to pull into. That was one hurdle over, walked into the pub expecting it to be packed solid due to the volume of vehicles in the car park only to find a handful of locals at the bar. Tables and chairs were plentiful, but no sign of any food about, being eaten or otherwise, no sign of cutlery, condiments or anything else that implied food was for sale. Previous reveuwee’s state nice food and give high scores , fail to understand this. To all intense and purposes this was a pub and nothing else even though there was a sandwich board at the roadside,needless to say we left and had a nice all day English Breakfast at The Cabin B o C. So really you did us a favour."

"Absolutely amazing from start to finish. My girlfriend booked for my birthday. We‘re both vegan and everything we had was delicious- esp the lasagne! They even have vegan Parmesan!! Not only this but the wines were labelled vg too. We went midweek and although we were running late and had to push the table back, we never felt rushed. Really enjoyable experience and relaxed atmosphere. To top it all off, they brought out a sorbet at the end of our meal and had wrote happy birthday in a fruity sauce. Highly recommend this restaurant Thank you so much."

"Ordered for delivery and let me tell you something: I don't think I've eaten such a good and original kebab in a long time. First thing you see it's branding on all packaging they provide, nice touch and stands out from other places, but what important food was so good. Hummus was great, quite oily with good texture and served with peanut pesto but really kebab was what stolen the show for me. So tasty, full of flavours, original taste, fresh ingredients and sauces, would like to know what they are. It's not very spicy but in this case I liked it even more. Give them a go if you are looking for a change from your normal boring kebab place."

"we were on the way from North Yorkshire to Scotland. we had no desire to eat quickly wanted a nice meal. this came locally on our Google maps for restaurant. and honestly it was not disappointed. service was amazing. the personal was so beautifully checked and chatted on them. eating was amazing. the toilets were amazing melting so fresh. the whole pub was clean very secret. "We came here for a family lunch on Sunday 1st September and had a really great experience we were seated on the roof terrace, which was lovely given the great weather, and the food and drinks were all of a really high standard, and were thoroughly enjoyed by everyone. "The island was open from 12 noon and our table was reserved for 12.15 pm as we planned to do something else later in the afternoon. However, the food was only just being set out and cooked, so was not ready until well after 12.30 pm. As it happened, this did not matter as our plans changed for the afternoon and so we could relax and spend the afternoon on Ravens Ait watching the world go by. The staff were nice but harried to start with in getting everything ready. Some didn't seem to know what the arrangement regarding the food was, eg whether tea/coffee was included or an extra charge. The food was generally good, but the hot containers did a poor job of keeping the food hot, and we were amongst the first to be served, so not sure how I would have liked eating later and getting a colder meal. The gluten free loaf of bread was a poor relation, gluten free rolls would have been a better option. I was told that gluten free rolls were taken by non g/f customers so that was why they did not have them. rather a lame reason to have a cheap alternative I felt. Also, the variety of cold salads was nothing special, being gluten free, a rice salad should have been included, not just the pasta, and I think there was a couscous but it is not gluten free. Overall, more imagination is required to make this a better eating experience, but of course the location will always attract customers."

"It would have been stars across the board but for the noise level from a party of that arrived whilst we were tucking into our main course. No fault of the restaurant as business is business and recovering from the pandemic, the management and team at Sai has worked extremely hard to service the clientele…it was just the fact we needed to shout at each other to hear ourselves that knocked a star off for me. The food was exquisite, the service brilliant and we look forward to returning soon but this time we will ask if there are any large table bookings in advance"
