"Service was slow, however very polite, food seemed processed and turkey looked like sliced from the butcher so thin, meat was not a slice of steak was mushed excess pieces moulded together into a round mould and cold. also Cranachan was just mush like thick yoghurt with porridge oats through it? That was a major shock and in a soup bowl? Def need to check the recipe on this, one chipolata too. All food was just warm nothing special. Christmas menu yet no crackers? No one asked if we enjoyed our meal even when the dessert wasn’t eaten"

"I have visited mammas very practically in recent years when they work in the rampant market! her pizza was always good and served the way I like it. thin and crispy (no soggy floor in itself! basic, simple enough tomato sauce and much cheese! huge slices that will take you. I went to her 30th birthday party together with the introduction of her star wars pizza menu. there were numerous combinations of pizzas, including gluten-free options. (highly recommended if they are zöliakie! . angus macinnes (gold leader in star wars episode iw the original owner, was the honorary. cheese 3 po, ham solo and darth veggie. very tasty. mammas pizzeria is small but a great place for groups, families, children and friends to meet. the staff are all super friendly and great service. the pizza is good, maybe in my top 3 places in edinburgh to eat pizza. Try it!"

"I’ve never eaten in the restaurant but I will certainly do so in the near future having been impressed more than once with their takeaway/home delivery service (via Uber Eats/Just Eat). First of all, it’s nice to get a proper meal cooked and delivered instead of your standard Turkish/Indian/Chinese options etc. Secondly, the delivery is absolutely rapid Fratellis don’t mess about! Lastly most importantly, the food has been sooo good. The Pollo Funghi I’ve ordered a couple times. It comes in a big square foil tray 3 big bits of chicken breast in a lovely, creamy sauce with plenty of sliced mushrooms, a handful of chunky chips, a couple of boiled potatoes and some spinach and broccoli. It’s really delightful and the portion size is very generous. The chicken pakora is very nice too. Different but lovely. About 8 bits of chicken. Not a fan of the cold tomato based salsa style dip that accompanied it though. The Risotto Gamberoni (King Prawns) was also excellent. Arrived in a long narrow tray but very filling and tasty and again very generous with the amount of prawns in the dish. Loved it! My wife has ordered a few pasta dishes which she has also thoroughly enjoyed so overall a great find and looking forward to ordering again/popping in for some proper good grub. Great Job!"

"We arrived in good time for our reservation having traveled up from London. Our table had a window view of the canal and tow path. Our waiter was friendly and was able to give us information on our choice of dishes. Our starters were quite good although the prawns were smothered in too much sauce which made for rather messy eating. Our main dishes were traditional British fare and included the Fish and Chips with mushy peas which were good and served in good time. The evening went well as the restaurant section of the pub filled up and this lead to a nice ambiance. The bill for four was quite reasonable considering we enjoyed two bottles of their New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. We would certainly go back when we are in Birmingham again."

"what a wonderful place! mine man and I came to the breakfast while on the slumber week, and it was possibly the most beautiful breakfast I ever had! we both had the vegetarian breakfast, and I had a caramel latte while he had a smoothie. the prices seemed high at first, I think we paid about £23 for our eating and drinks, but it was worth every single penny. the ingredients were fresh and skurril, my latte was made with good quality buzzing and the smoothness of my man was to die. the atmosphere was also very cozy and welcoming on a cold novemberday the other customers were very friendly and the staff was great. If I could give six stars, I would!"

"Cute pub on Bath Avenue, this place is instantly appealing for the great courtyard/terrace to the front. Whether just for a drink or some grub this place is worth a visit. Staff are friendly and are very helpful particularly when you're trying ti grab the next available table outside... ha ha, yes they are like gold dust during a nice day and they happily sit you inside and move your order outside without any fuss or sense that you are inconveniencing them. Food, I've only had the brunch menu which I enjoyed and would happily return :"

"excellent quality eating. it will take some visits to process the optimal number to order 2 or 3 small plates or 1 and 1 large etc.) the price will affect the last combo. we had two small and one big. a small plate was ribbed with three cooked chips. delicious. great value. the other small plate was makrele scampi, which at £10.50 for 6 pieces was a bit on the expensive side and saw small also on a small plate! needs salat or sweet. my big plate was a burger absolutely delicious. only a small point: the prices on the menu were not clear, there was a dot in the middle of the zero, so the £10.50 scampi looked like it cost me £18.50! which would not have been good and at a tenner it was the upper end for the portion size."

"Wanted to try this restaurant and so glad we did. We were staying nearby and the smells coming from the place as we walked towards it were great. Had jerk chicken whilst wife had the curry goat. Both were superbly cooked and we thought the...portions were generous with both coming with rice n peas and plantain. Meal was washed down with Stag lager, a glass of rum and a cocktail. Service was excellent and all staff very friendly. Shame that the restaurant was quiet as it deserves to be packed but not surprising given the time of year. As someone else has mentioned you cannot add a tip on your card when you pay your bill so make sure you have some cash in your pockets as food and staff are certainly worth it."

"Music is ridiculously loud, and this place is understaffed. What staff there are were ok in the beginning, but seemed to quickly lose interest. Our cups and plates piled up until we asked 2 or 3 times for them to be removed. Our bottomless nachos indeed had a bottom, as we found it and no one ever came to refill. Sat there for 45 mins after finishing our food and weren't offered more drinks or the bill were just ignored. The bill came with a 30 quid service charge on it which given we'd had a dirty table for most of the night seemed a bit excitable. Pricey, passable food in small portions, inconsistent service, not enough staff and those who were there did not care that much."

"We have previously enjoyed eating here and last night thought we would treat ourselves. The food was good but our waiter was surly. We are not demanding people and ordered a set menu and a couple of drinks each but it really felt like he had better things to do. At the end of the meal we decided to pay via the QR code on the table. A ‘discretionary’ tip had been automatically added to our bill. In the circumstances we would have preferred not to pay this but it seems the only way to avoid it would have been to confront the waiter himself. It’s not cheap eating out these days so you do expect friendly service to make it special. I know service staff work hard in sometimes challenging situations. However this experience left a bad taste in the mouth and has put us off visiting Wahaca again."

"We ate in the beautiful well lit dining room. Our waitress was very friendly, she addressed every member of our group, and very much included the children. She anticipated our every need and timed our meal really well. The atmosphere was perfect, happy diners around us created a hum, but not noisy at all. The menu suited all age groups, and all the food was very good. I would definitely recommend to others and we will be back!"

"Westfields shepherds bush Wahaca has a nice location with outdoor seating. However not so welcoming there. We were ignored by two staff members though they had attended to the couple next to us. Despite trying to catch their eye for a menu they seemed to be unaware and not taking much notice as they really should have been. Eventually.. Food and drinks were nice if a little overpriced. We were told when we got our drinks and food, to use the qr code at the table, to pay. Got the impression the waiting and serving staff wanted the minimum of communication and contact with customers Not very friendly there"

"Very disappointing. My wife and I have been here a few times and eaten here on one occasion before. On this occasion, the room was cold, a number of items were unavailable and the elderly newzealanders who accompanied us were upset by the loud drunken swearing from the next table. The fish chips one of us had was a greasy disaster and the ‘roast’ was tepid. A shame, we used to like the place."

"Took us ages to be seated. The server didn't offer us drinks whilst we waited. Asked for drinks, didn't receive them Sat for 20 minutes, kept asking for drinks, didn't get them. Nobody around us seemed to be getting food. Decided to leave. Went to another restaurant that was much busier and was served in a shorter time than we sat waiting."

"Unfortunately, we had to repeatedly ask for things such as ordering dessert, receiving the bill, and having our dirty plates cleared. When we inquired about the delayed dessert, the manager informed us that it had only been 21 minutes since we ordered, not 25 as we had stated. Instead of acknowledging the poor service, the manager seemed dismissive. Overall, while the food at Wahaca is very good, I would recommend avoiding this particular location on Southbank. You are likely to receive better service at one of their other restaurants in central London. As a recommendation, the Wahaca at Westfield Stratford is a good option for both food and service, especially if you are on a shopping day."
