"Unfortunately, we had to repeatedly ask for things such as ordering dessert, receiving the bill, and having our dirty plates cleared. When we inquired about the delayed dessert, the manager informed us that it had only been 21 minutes since we ordered, not 25 as we had stated. Instead of acknowledging the poor service, the manager seemed dismissive. Overall, while the food at Wahaca is very good, I would recommend avoiding this particular location on Southbank. You are likely to receive better service at one of their other restaurants in central London. As a recommendation, the Wahaca at Westfield Stratford is a good option for both food and service, especially if you are on a shopping day."

Food excellent and well presented. My husbands first time there and he was very impressed. Staff very helpful and willing to explain the menu. Beautiful setting overlooking Southbank. Will definitely go back

The food at this restaurant was excellent, receiving a perfect 5/5 rating. Special compliments to the chefs, especially for their delicious chicken and avocado tortilla. The service was also good, earning a 4/5 overall rating.

We popped in for food and drinks on Friday night and couldn’t be happier. Super helpful and friendly staff, good wine and the food was great! We ordered a number of dishes, all of which were delicious. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Wahaca, it just makes me a bit sad that we don’t have anything as good at home.

We were really looking forward to having a meal here last night. We arrived at the doors at 5.30pm as we were on our way to the National Theatre. They were still on a lunch break! We have always had a good meal here so we were very disappointed. How can a lunch break last until 7pm as it said on the door. Many people turned up so a lot of custom was missed.

Very tasty food and exceptional service from Rubin who was very helpful and attentive. This was my first visit to Wahaca for many years and I was very impressed with the great selection of dishes available. We sat downstairs which was a bit squashed and there was some drilling noise from works on the building which was annoying. Otherwise it was a lovely lunch and I am happy to recommend it.

We got a table in the main room with the doors wide open overlooking the Thames on a scorching day our waiter was very efficient and explained all the dishes which were very diverse he advised that we take three dishes each but we decided for two each the food was tasty and light the wine was chilled and perfect for the moment it’s our first visit to wahaca but we would certainly visit again.

Waited 15 mins to be served. Then told we couldn’t get just drinks. Would have been nice to know that when we arrived. Sat outside the drinks hut (although it was closed) it does not appear obvious that we can’t order just drinks. The food looked and smelt amazing but sadly we had just eaten. Waiter quite rude. Maybe stressed? Did use the toilet, light not working so had to use my iPhone torch to see. Shame, as looks great from the outside.

Apart from one naturally friendly female waiter near entente, service was androidesque. Allergy ordering is like no other and results in mains being presented prior to starters. Whilst waiter took away mains until starters served Manager could not have cared less. Unusually, we were not asked if further drinks were to be ordered. So, dullnouting with children, none of whom were engaged with, except bu bubbly lady downstairs. Wahaca received feedback. Cared even less then Manager here and even referred to checking CCTV??? After using Wahaca for over 1w years or so, never again.
