"popped in for a beautiful pint looking for local pubs on google. at the moment I went into me, two workers were persecuted separately and asked if I were in order, as I almost made myself up in cash. What are you doing just to foot in I had to tell them both that I wanted to get one pint. I wanted to be persecuted, but I got it off. I ordered my pint (which by the way did not pour the girl properly) and paid and said that the cashier I can sit everywhere and he said yes how there were many places to sit. I went to a comfortable place and halfway away by asking my pint a coworker if I could go to another place, as my table reserved there was no reserve sign and I was a bit confused as I was told that I could sit somewhere. but I gave them the advantage of the doubt and moved. I was separated again and even had a bar employee wondering if everything was in order and if I wanted to order something else, he seemed nice. then asked me the same bar staff from before, who asked me to move earlier, and apparently this was also reserved. I was really unhappy and had to gulp the rest of my pints and go. He was so rude that you said you could sit everywhere, it was me, it was me and became quite aggressive and intimidating. I told him how unhappy I was that this happened twice with me and there was no indication on the table or any staff that the tables were reserved. this is probably the worst customer service I have ever received. the organization and management is a shame. here is a feedback for them: 1. You are a pub, stop pretending to be something imaginative. they serve pints on a bar, so they are a pub and should treat all customers equally. 2. they teach the rod personnel how to pour properly pints. 3. if a table is reserved, they make this clear for the customers so that they know which time the table is reserved and they can move accordingly. 4. customer service is everything. this will have an influence on her business, because mouthpropaganda is very powerful. look at their other reviews there are many others where people have said that the staff is rude."

"Excellent! We spent around four hours here on a Tuesday afternoon sampling their food, savouring their coffee and scabbing their free wifi! I 'll start with the basics. The Refuge is conveniently located on Oxford Street just a two minute walk from the train station. The casual seating area is huge with plenty of places for different sized groups to sit, there 's even an Apprentice Style boardroom table. The vibe is very relaxed but when I entered I noticed a lot of business people (or people clearly working). The decor is fantastic, as mentioned its a huge open space but the dark wooden finish makes it feel close and comfortable. The lunch menu isn 't huge but they clearly want to keep things simple and do them right. I had the beef burger accompanied by skinny fries and it was delicious. Just the right consistency so you could pick it up without it falling apart. It was generously topped with salad and the 'posh big mac ' sauce finished it off nicely. If you want to eat you 'll have to head through to the dining area as they don 't serve food in the lounge beware this was very busy, even on a Tuesday, so you may need to book in advance. After lunch we headed back to the lounge area and had a coffees while we chatted. The coffee was great, I had a flat white which was just off on the good side of bitter. We also ordered snacks later in the day the Almonds cooked in bacon fat are a must try that might sound gross to some people but just wait until the bacon flavour hits your taste buds! To access the free wifi you 'll need to sign up wth your email address but then it 's all yours. I haven 't even received a spammy email a week later. It 's really hard to fault The Refuge the staff were attentive without being too in your face, which I suppose is important when people are using their premises for business meets! All in all a really great experience and a lovely place to spend the afternoon working."

"I 've been here a few times. It 's a nice enough pub, with a good range of ales. The staff are friendly enough, and the drinks are decently priced. It 's always quite busy and popular among the locals. But I had a bit of a frustrating experience the other day. Me and a friend of mine were walking my dog. It began to rain so we decided to grab a drink somewhere whilst it settled down. We were near the grapes, so I whipped out my phone and googled whether dogs were allowed in the pub. Online it says a child and dog friendly pub... and that dogs [are] allowed inside . I thought brilliant, me and my mate can grab a quick pint whilst we wait for the rain to stop. We go in the pub. Nobody says a word or bats an eye lid. We buy our drinks and go to sit down. As soon as we sit down, the landlady comes over, and, very politely, says dogs are not allowed in the pub. I have no problem with this. A lot of pubs don 't allow dogs in because they can be noisy, dirty, and some people just don 't like dogs. It 's totally fair enough. But it was frustrating because it meant we then had to stand outside in the rain and the cold. The information online is clearly out of date and needs changing. I just thought I 'd do a review to give other dog walkers a heads up, and make the owners aware that the online information is incorrect. The pub itself though is nice enough though. I 'll definitely go again but next time I 'll have to leave the dog at home."
