A delightful blend of creamy ice cream topped with rich chocolate sauce, crunchy nuts, and a cherry on top. Perfect indulgence!

"popped in for a beautiful pint looking for local pubs on google. at the moment I went into me, two workers were persecuted separately and asked if I were in order, as I almost made myself up in cash. What are you doing just to foot in I had to tell them both that I wanted to get one pint. I wanted to be persecuted, but I got it off. I ordered my pint (which by the way did not pour the girl properly) and paid and said that the cashier I can sit everywhere and he said yes how there were many places to sit. I went to a comfortable place and halfway away by asking my pint a coworker if I could go to another place, as my table reserved there was no reserve sign and I was a bit confused as I was told that I could sit somewhere. but I gave them the advantage of the doubt and moved. I was separated again and even had a bar employee wondering if everything was in order and if I wanted to order something else, he seemed nice. then asked me the same bar staff from before, who asked me to move earlier, and apparently this was also reserved. I was really unhappy and had to gulp the rest of my pints and go. He was so rude that you said you could sit everywhere, it was me, it was me and became quite aggressive and intimidating. I told him how unhappy I was that this happened twice with me and there was no indication on the table or any staff that the tables were reserved. this is probably the worst customer service I have ever received. the organization and management is a shame. here is a feedback for them: 1. You are a pub, stop pretending to be something imaginative. they serve pints on a bar, so they are a pub and should treat all customers equally. 2. they teach the rod personnel how to pour properly pints. 3. if a table is reserved, they make this clear for the customers so that they know which time the table is reserved and they can move accordingly. 4. customer service is everything. this will have an influence on her business, because mouthpropaganda is very powerful. look at their other reviews there are many others where people have said that the staff is rude."

"We had an overall good Sunday roast experience. For starters the pig’s head terrine and piccalilli were excellent but the scallops ceviche was a joke, no seasoning and presentation was poor, a handful of gems lettuce sprinkled with two(? thin sliced scallops, avoid that at all cost especially the £17.50 we were charged for. The Angus beef roast was delicious, very well cooked and tender. Trimmings were nice especially the green beans and gravy. I asked for more gravy unfortunately it came 10mins later and was cold. Dessert was succulent, crepes Suzette were perfect! The service was very pleasant especially the host at the front desk! Merci beaucoup!! All in all I will come back."

"Excellent! We spent around four hours here on a Tuesday afternoon sampling their food, savouring their coffee and scabbing their free wifi! I 'll start with the basics. The Refuge is conveniently located on Oxford Street just a two minute walk from the train station. The casual seating area is huge with plenty of places for different sized groups to sit, there 's even an Apprentice Style boardroom table. The vibe is very relaxed but when I entered I noticed a lot of business people (or people clearly working). The decor is fantastic, as mentioned its a huge open space but the dark wooden finish makes it feel close and comfortable. The lunch menu isn 't huge but they clearly want to keep things simple and do them right. I had the beef burger accompanied by skinny fries and it was delicious. Just the right consistency so you could pick it up without it falling apart. It was generously topped with salad and the 'posh big mac ' sauce finished it off nicely. If you want to eat you 'll have to head through to the dining area as they don 't serve food in the lounge beware this was very busy, even on a Tuesday, so you may need to book in advance. After lunch we headed back to the lounge area and had a coffees while we chatted. The coffee was great, I had a flat white which was just off on the good side of bitter. We also ordered snacks later in the day the Almonds cooked in bacon fat are a must try that might sound gross to some people but just wait until the bacon flavour hits your taste buds! To access the free wifi you 'll need to sign up wth your email address but then it 's all yours. I haven 't even received a spammy email a week later. It 's really hard to fault The Refuge the staff were attentive without being too in your face, which I suppose is important when people are using their premises for business meets! All in all a really great experience and a lovely place to spend the afternoon working."

"We came to the restaurant to celebrate my friend's birthday and taste American food. I was most looking for food from the smoker, and the beef briquettes were not disappointed. The bet was also very nice. We had the fudge cake and the New York cheese cake for the desert and really enjoyed it. The service was excellent."

"We had great service, great coffee here. The staff is really friendly. This is one of the few places in London which sells exceptionally good filter coffee. I love this place. Whenever I am in London I make special effort to find their closest branch and have a nice cup of love-berries coffee! Thank you Black Sheep coffee!"

"Lovely place under the railway arches with lots of atmosphere. Staff very welcoming, helpful and professional. Food was a let down though. One of our party had scampi and it was a small portion, probably more suitable as a child's portion. Two of us had burgers one of which was £17 and the other was £23. Whilst the fries were really delicious, the burgers were very poor quality; lots of grisly bits in them which could be totally avoided if the mince was the 5% fat one from Tesco!! Cheesecake was delicious and a good size portion. 4th member of our party had the chicken and he said it was very nice. I guess if we'd avoided the burgers and scampi, we'd have been much happier. He ho!"

"Great lunch! Had the set menu, great food and excellent value. 4 of us and we all had a different starter and all 4 were great! Followed by 2 of us with sausage and mash fab, the other2 flat iron steak and chips, again really good. Apple pie for desert and one ice cream Sunday again all great! All washed down with a great bottle of Malbec after some fizz and beers! Highly recommend and will definitely return next time we’re in the area! Thanks for a great lunch!"

"Chenestons is a wonderful find! We couldn’t have had a more superb experience. Leo and Julia are really excellent – their customer service is outstanding. All the other staff were equally superb, warm and genuine, I didn’t catch their names. It really is a special place and I was so excited because some of my favourite music is Glenn Miller and Al Bowlly and this was gently playing in the background which enhances the 1930s and 40s feel of the place. I was in utter heaven! The food was wonderful. We had help choosing our wine and Leo understood exactly what we liked and what would match our food and he didn’t oversell or make us choose a really expensive bottle. We appreciated this very much. The cauliflower starter was exquisite as was my smoked salmon. My halibut was gorgeous and my fiancé’s chicken pie was perfect. We visited for lunch before the Proms that evening and it really was a day we will never forget. Thank you so much. I can’t wait to come back."

"I 've been here a few times. It 's a nice enough pub, with a good range of ales. The staff are friendly enough, and the drinks are decently priced. It 's always quite busy and popular among the locals. But I had a bit of a frustrating experience the other day. Me and a friend of mine were walking my dog. It began to rain so we decided to grab a drink somewhere whilst it settled down. We were near the grapes, so I whipped out my phone and googled whether dogs were allowed in the pub. Online it says a child and dog friendly pub... and that dogs [are] allowed inside . I thought brilliant, me and my mate can grab a quick pint whilst we wait for the rain to stop. We go in the pub. Nobody says a word or bats an eye lid. We buy our drinks and go to sit down. As soon as we sit down, the landlady comes over, and, very politely, says dogs are not allowed in the pub. I have no problem with this. A lot of pubs don 't allow dogs in because they can be noisy, dirty, and some people just don 't like dogs. It 's totally fair enough. But it was frustrating because it meant we then had to stand outside in the rain and the cold. The information online is clearly out of date and needs changing. I just thought I 'd do a review to give other dog walkers a heads up, and make the owners aware that the online information is incorrect. The pub itself though is nice enough though. I 'll definitely go again but next time I 'll have to leave the dog at home."

"I typically avoid restaurants that are labeled as gastro, preferring pubs to be more traditional and restaurants to be separate entities. However, The Mark Cross Inn has merged the two, functioning more as a restaurant these days. Despite my initial reservations, I was pleasantly surprised by the tasty food and enjoyable dining experience I had with a group of 8. The service was friendly, the atmosphere was family-friendly and relaxed. Some of the dishes were served in a quirky manner, such as chips in small frying baskets, which I found charming but others in my party found unnecessary. Main dishes ranged from £10-£20, with options like steak burgers and battered cod being more budget-friendly. Overall, I had a lovely meal and would recommend The Mark Cross Inn for a casual lunch or family meal."

"We used a voucher from Travelzoo for this restaurant. The waitress seemed unhappy from the moment we arrived. She did not inquire about any dietary restrictions, and if I hadn't asked, we would have received the default meal. It would have been more beneficial if she had explained what to expect from the dining experience."

"Four of us all had different dishes both main course and dessert. All were well presented, cooked perfectly and the hot dishes were hot. The desserts were just as good and in general we found no reason at all to complain about the food. The service was also very efficient, friendly and courteous. We would definitely meet and dine here again."

"We were not aware that we would be charged for booking our table. This seems very unfair. We will not be booking a table again with the Mark Cross Inn. service was very slow we had to ask more than twice where our drinks were and then again had a long wait for the mains and had an even longer wait for the sweets."

"my brother and I went to sleep at the football after a afternoon. the place is very clean and tidy including the bathroom. the personal was found very polite and friendly. we both had the special area of the month. what I have to say was delicious and hot. I have something to eat that is not hot. I drove so on the alcohol-free drinks that I like to say was right (not expensive) we both had different whispers that I had homemade applecake and ice. my brother had homemade lemon balms. order the medaillon at the top so that it is not soft. by the way, the take-up is also available. overall we had a great time and next time I will go back to the opposite one."

"the new restaurant was recommended by a friend. last week to lunch, a party of 5 and was not disappointed. the location is beautiful with a lot of history on the website and it is surrounding business and more from what I collect. the building has great character with some interesting original features that decorate it. a place for relaxed social dining I recommend. the staff was very pleasant and the service was good. the time between each curs was precise and didn't feel rushed in any way. the presentation of eating was great, beautifully presented portions of very good quality eating. I had de-starter, best that I had very delicate, and the lamb was only lambfantastic! my dessert, lemon zitruskuchen, just finished the entire eating experience there brilliant. they have a beautiful outdoor garden on the back with good sitting and sun umbrellas. will soon be back to try out the new menu! it changes regularly, which is great news."

"A nice venue, with a view across Cardiff Bay. It serves good food and service was OK. I found the seating, woven wicker style patio chairs, not to be the most comfortable, as they only have a seat cushion and they re designed to have a back rest cushion. (I know this because I have similar at home) The grinder cruet sets were quite new and I found that they were difficult to operate. My wife was unable use them at all. Other than that, we enjoyed our meal and left pleasantly full!"

"I have booked a table for 7 people around 19 clock online. I received an online confirmation as well as an email to confirm our booking. when we arrived, the employees said they had no record of the booking. the restaurant was only half full so that they could put us anyway. it was a Sunday and we had chosen the place, because their sunday roast was well sounded and served until 9 o'clock. When we sat down, we said they fled from Yorkshire puddings. within 10 minutes they came and took the Sunday menu away and said it was not available now, but we could still order from the standard menu. my mother in law asked if it was possible to swallow chips for kartoffeln with the torte and was said no, the kartoffelbrei portions were already assigned to other meal times. at this point we went. the personal tried to seem too sympathetic, but were annoyed when we left when they had poured out a few of the beverage order. the restaurant looked like a good place, it was a nice environment, but the menu was expensive and other diners could be heard complaining that they had waited a long time, although they were not busy. we were understandably really disappointed by all the experience."

"the 4th time that I was here in the room of a month and here ate 3 out of 4 of these visits. great eating, friendly and helpful staff and the beer is also not too bad. the person I suspect is the manager, nothing seems to be too much annoyed for her. try the chili and cheddar burger (I am really hard to please with burgers, and this is the best pub burger I had in the old). also, deep fried pickles."
