The food was really interesting, the waitress that looked after us was lovely but the drinks were quite slow to arrive. We were an early seating so the atmosphere was non existent when we arrived but it got better. It was also quite drafts next to the window where we were sat and the furniture seemed a little odd. Following many recommendations, we booked a table at Chakana for dinner with friends and we were not disappointed! An atypical place with crazy charm, a service worthy of the greatest restaurants and a menu of refined, colorful, balanced dishes as beautiful as they are delicious that we devoured accompanied by cocktails including the famous pisco sour! Gorgeous in one word. First pic is the duck breast which I’ve had cooked just right after ages. Second is the squid starter, very very pretty. Last is their version of pulled pork can’t remember the name. The restaurant is small and simply furnished. Portions are small. Probably as we’re meant to eat and not pig out. Menu is on their website. No it’s not cheap but neither is it remotely near chain restaurant food. Loved the food and drinks. We had somethings Peruvian to drink, forgot now but it was good. Excellent staff, absolutely delicious and beautifully presented food, and also... Peruvian! How often do you get Peruvian food? Partner said booze selection was also good. On the pricier side, but it's Michelin starred, so no surprise there. Oh, also went for Sunday lunch there one time as well one of the best I have had in brum. Plus, they got the closest I've recently had to good Yorkshire pudding. Still not quite there, but closer than most pubs/restaurants. The best peruvian restaurant in the UK! This is definitely the place to eat anything peruvian. The food here is not only authentic but is presented in an artistic way. Each dish is composed meticulously bringing different ingredients from the three main regions of Peru. Their cocktail menu is extensive and really well done.
