"After a visit to the cinema with friends i decided to choose The Hudson for a late Sunday lunch. The reasons for doing so were twofold. One the last time we were there was pre pandemic and the other one of our party is vegetarian...and the menu on line gave a couple of choices which is much better than some places. On arrival we were given a choice of tables and whilst choosing drinks and food we were offered and accepted a jug of tap water. We choose our drinks which were delivered quickly and the food order was taken by a very friendly and bubbly waitress who helped to make the experience really fun. The portions were very generous and the vegetables very fresh and cooked to perfection. Apparently the vegetarian Thai curry was also very tasty. We would have loved a desert but were all full so we took a break before finishing with another drink. Overall the experience was really good and the staff were all very friendly and engaging. The place is very well appointed and quiet allowing you to have and hear conversations you have at the table, Worth a visit."

"Absolute shocker. Worst pub meal our group of 8 have ever had. Every plate was beyond poor. All the food was completely tasteless, poorly presented and in no way represents what’s on the menu. Sounds good, tastes awful! Don’t waste your money. It was so shocking it was embarrassing as we are a group of friends and every single dish was poor. Have no idea how The Wandle get away with serving such rubbish. Here’s a thought, get a chef who knows how to season food and is brave enough to taste it before it goes out. If you’ve got to the end of this review and you don’t know what to do……save your money and time and don’t go. If management respond please kindly don’t offer a free meal as we def won’t be risking coming back."

"the place is very nice and the menu looks pretty good. However, eating was average (salmon was overcooked, and so was the meat in the burgers) and the service was very slow, although almost empty. we waited very long for our food and even ask for the bill we had to follow the waiter. in addition, they accused my card with the wrong order. the place has potential, but our experience was not very good, we will not come back."

"Rude staff and far too many. I don’t often write reviews because they are so subjective, but as a publican and Manager for some years I must write this hoping that the management company, possibly GK see this. Rude staff asking weird questions, which lead me to think he was high or drunk and another member who short changed me and when challenged just paid back with no apology. At least six staff behind the bar chatting, not customer facing and plates left on tables for at least 30 minutes still not cleared as I left. I suggest the BDM could slash the wage bill here. This is obviously a pub that trades on I’m here so you have to use me, and I’m sure does well, but that is pure location not service"

"Four of us went for Fathers Day yesterday, having really enjoyed the food and atmosphere on a number of previous occasions. The pub was not busy but we waited over an hour after ordering after making equiries and complaining both the starters and the Sunday Roast mains arrived together. We were told that we should have specified to have starters seperate sorry but the clue is surely in the title starters !! One manager told us it was their Head Office policy to do this and a very young male server told us it was our fault...... The main courses arrived and the food was stone cold. We complained and another lovely blonde female manager finally came and sorted things out, getting us new hot food and apologising for the long wait, especially as other table who came in after us had both starters (seperately ! and mains delivered long before ours. We assume that our order had just been forgotten and must have sat for a while as it served cold. The replacement hot food was however lovely a really good Sunday Roast. The blonde manager certainly did her best to make up for the situation and that was reflected in the bill, so we were grateful for that. It spoilt our day out and I am sad to say we won 't be going back anytime soon, which is a shame as we have previously enjoyed it."
