"I ordered this as a special valentines meal. I knew the main meal prices were expensive but I was shocked to receive a phone call stating I had to spend a minimum of 20 per person on food.. This wasn't stated anywhere on the booking! I arrived 20 minutes early and was shown to the bar and ordered drinks and said I was happy to accept my table early if available.. Half a hour later I was still waiting for my table yet had seen couples without a reservation get seated straight away so was a little surprised that I had to ask if my own table was ready and not be called over by the host. I ordered the minimum 40 worth of food and ordered 2 starters and 3 main meals. The starters came promptly but this is where the problems continued.. The portion sizes were tiny, 6 vegetable spring rolls which you could eat in one mouthful. During this time and all through out the service, I had different waiters bringing me more starters that I did not order and even the tables next to me had to refuse food 3 times which they did not order. Once the starters had been cleared, the mains were promptly brought over apart from the 1/4 duck.. So we had the sweet and sour chicken (tiny portion yet again) and beef noodles.. A server came over to me and confirmed my name an asked if I had a booking for 7 people whilst I was eating my meal! I was a bit confused by this as the meal kept getting interrupted. Another waiter was hovering over me waiting for me to take my plate whilst I was still eating! The duck never came by it self, I had to ask where it was.. If I didn't have a minimum spend I would have asked for it to have been deducted. Once the duck was cleared, we had another server ask us if we had finished our starters! Once the bill came it wasn't itemised and just stated Food: ?? And drink ?? Overall it was a thoroughly disappointing experience and sadly won't be turning up again as Ive never had such poor service. Such a shame."

"I got a collection take away. I have lived in this town for over 30 years and I have never tried mayflower. When I collected the food the staff were very welcoming with the food being ready on time. When I plated it up at home first thing I noticed was how nice the rice looked, can’t describe it but looked clean and just nice, same with the chips they were fresh and not stale. The rest of the food was the same. Looking forward to sitting in next time. Think this will be my go to Chinese takeaway."

"OK the quality of the food was excellent but was over shadowed by the severely small portions and massive prices. The duck and pork feast was over £25.00 and contained about 20 pieces of meat. The dim sum came in portions of 3 and not 4. Unfortunately, this gets a thumbs down from me and I won't be recommending it unless you have very deep pockets."

"After I had passed the siam cottage for many years a day, but set on our way with another near-by-paurier, I decided one day to review their reviews online. there were a couple who had lived in Thailand for many years, but now live. in perth. they said they often make the 4 hours round trip to eat here, as there are “the most authentic Thai aromes they have tasted with Thai” (or words to this effect). with a selection of Thai Chinese dresses it offers for the whole family. I was always a chicken panang or pad thai type, with my partner more in lemon chicken or similar Chinese dishes. in the course of the years we have worked quite a lot on our wise, although the takeaway menu, various dishes that we otherwise do not have. since every court we have tried was excellent, it is encouraged to take a leap of faith try something new every time. our personal favorite is just now the chicken cashew thai style...a taste sensation! The chicken panang is on the same with everything I tasted in Thailand. the service is always excellent, delivery fast we have a smile a chat at the door hit when it comes. price is also very reasonable in consideration of the portion size, for restaurant quality eat directly to their door, it will not be much better than siam cottage. when collecting an order a night from the restaurant, I noticed that the dishes were delivered to tables, looked out raised, very well presented huge portions. the personal was also very attentively friendly. although in the decor in restaurant, we do not tend to visit restaurants for their facility anyway. we visit eating that customer service is confident that a visit would exceed our expectations. we have not sampled many starters/deserts from the Takeaway menu, so can not comment so much on them. we got starters as soon as they were beautiful, but with the portion size they get on their net pages....3 net, a part rice a part bohnenprout nudeln is a fixed for a family of 4 (two adult, two children). we look forward to our next taste feeling. keep them good work."

"After tonight’s experience I would never recommend this restaurant again, food presented awful soup looked like sick slopped in a pan next to sauces etc, food tasted different, very dry and not pleasant, puddings well what can I say... frozen cheese cake, Eton mess minus meringue and Barely a fruit to be seen, dried up sponge cake, staff arguing, and when we Paid we asked if place had been taken over and the women said it’s not good in here anymore is it (well what more can I say), £25 wasted and down the pan, problem around us also wasting lots of food, wasn’t even worth £5pp with these lack of standards the place will be closed down in no time"

"I stumbled upon this restaurant around 11:30 as they were closing, but the chef was kind enough to make me some chicken soup, chicken noodles, and rice for takeaway. Even the vegetable and tofu noodles were delicious. My partner and I consider ourselves to be tough critics when it comes to Chinese food, but we were pleasantly surprised by the amazing flavors. We have been living in London for the past 10-15 years and can confidently say that this restaurant serves some outstanding food that is fresh and hygienic. The prices are reasonable for the generous portions, and the chef is very friendly and works hard to cater to your taste preferences. Although we were only in Plymouth for the weekend and may not have the chance to return, I did suggest to the chef that they should consider opening a new takeaway in London."
