"Firstly I want to say there is so much that deserves praise here smiling front of house/receptionists/wonderful floor staff managers constantly observing everything going on watching the floor/drinks waiters constantly topping up water replenishing wine etc/beautiful breathtaking surroundings attention to...detail immaculate furnishings everything is spot on…..but the food. The ‘occasion of the place’ well makes up for this BUT from the price point the food needs to also be perfection. This starts as any good chef knows with seasoning bland doesn’t cut it at this level of dining. Nor does look-warm. It’s such a shame as I wanted to give the full 5-Star review but sadly it was the food in a restaurant of this standing that needs to be excellent) that let it down. We still had a wonderful evening experience but the kitchen needs to ‘step up’ in line with everything else that shines here. There are so many very good dining establishments close by that I wouldn’t be rushing back just yet."

"We regularly go to the Halfway St. branch for their burgers. My wife is a vegan and judges that their vegan burgers are the best she's had. Including upmarket central London restaurants where she has paid double. On a recent visit we paid cash and it seems that two of the new plastic £10 notes had stuck together in my wallet and I unwittingly handed over £10 too much. Our server came back to our table and returned the £10 to me. Really good and varied food, great friendly service and integrity as well. A winning combination."

"Visited with some work colleagues for a birthday lunch and we had a fab time. We were served by Maria and Susana and both were attentive, polite and always smiling. The food was absolutely delicious! I had the half francasinha as I knew that this was a very filling dish and I still felt really full afterwards. My two colleagues also struggled o finish their food. The portion sizes are such good value for the price paid. The desserts are also homemade we had the flan which been made only that morning really delicious. They heard we had a birthday on the table and so one of the flans came with a candle and the staff sang happy birthday so nice of them to go this extra mile."

"I visited this restaurant on a Sunday morning for an early breakfast. The atmosphere was simple and clean. Unfortunately, none of the staff greeted me when I arrived. I sat down, looked at the menu, and made my choices without any acknowledgment. When I placed my order, a grumpy employee came out from behind the counter, took my menu without a word, and placed it on the seat across from me. I prefer to read menus thoroughly, so I picked it back up. Despite the lack of communication, the food was delicious and the coffee was great. If you don't mind being ignored and are just looking for good food, this place is for you. It's a shame that the service was lacking. Remember, a smile is free."

"Been to Harts many times over the years. On this occasion the service was totally awful. The food was still good, but the front of house team badly lets the kitchen team down. Orders taken wrong, one starter having to be re ordered and came out after everyone else had finished, food brought out in the wrong order (vegetables cold on the table before main courses served), we constantly had to ask for everything we wanted. Lack of knowledge for example the wine waiter was adamant port was a desert wine. This isn't the level of service we've experienced in the past with Harts and would recommend giving it a wide berth until management have got the front of house back up to a reasonable standard of service. This time I was the paying host and it was embarrassing."

"Hart's Kitchen is off to a great start in the new year. We enjoyed plump, tasty, garlicky prawns and a comforting, creamy artichoke soup for starters. The flat iron steak, cooked medium rare as requested, was flavorful and satisfying. For dessert, we had a delicious chocolate fondant with ice cream and some standard Madeleines with lemon curd. The wine list offered plenty of options at reasonable prices. The service from the one waiter in the small dining area was professional and friendly. It's reassuring to see that this long-standing Nottingham restaurant is still serving up excellent food."

"Great place went there for a Sunday brunch with the kids and some friends. I usually don't expect much from a weatherspoon but I was surprised in a good way. Friendly staff , they were welcoming and got us highchairs for the children. The place wasn't overly busy but I can imagine it's packed during the week We ordered 2 kids Sunday roast it came with chicken, peas, roast potatoes, carrots and gravy. Plus a drink and fruit bowl. "I received a call from the moniker 1 hour before our booking for 6 for christmas lunch informed me that they did not provide tables and would not confirm the booking of opentable. they mentioned that they had problems with opentable in the past and while they were very sorry that the inconvenience had nothing to do to make the right. it is obvious that the attempt to find a table for 6 during the holiday is near impossible, but I am pleased to report that the corn exchange on 1 minster court was friendly, courteous and able to create a place for us. I would highly recommend to take their business there and stay as far away from the moniker as possible."
