"This restaurant was truly exceptional! Despite being very busy, we were able to secure a late reservation. The food was absolutely incredible, with a wide variety of options that made it hard to choose. We enjoyed a seafood platter, goatcheese mousse, ham hough, and oysters. For mains, we indulged in surf and turf (halibut and pigeon), ribeye steak, and delicious sides. We even took home some desserts that were heavenly. The staff truly made the experience even more memorable, with Elise and Nicki providing excellent service and knowledge about the menu, and bartender Sharice making a perfect after-dinner cocktail. It's definitely worth the price and time if you have the opportunity. Overall, a fantastic dining experience."

"Strange experience. Food was great and terrible at the same time. Ordered broccoli soup, flavorless, and pretty sure there was no broccoli in it. Or they used a higher ratio of other vegetables than when puréed, soup was brown. Steak was overcooked and dry yet Chimichurri sauce was excellent. Cullen Skink soup was very good, along with seafood board, oysters and fries. Desert was bizarre. I ordered a chocolate cheesecake with Carmel sauce. There was no chocolate and no Carmel and came with raspberry coulis. Salad was supposed to have a raspberry vinaigrette, but no raspberry in it. They used lettuces that could not hold up to large tomato slices and the cucumber was diced so fine you could not pierce with your fork. My dad ordered sticky pudding that was supposed to come with Vanilla ice cream. We have no idea what the ice cream was but fairly confident was missing sugar and vanilla."

"The starters that my husband and I had, were delicious and we were so excited to get our mains and that’s where it all went downhill. My husband steak (rib-eye) was just edible however, mine was inedible due to fat and the outside of the steak, being burnt (also a rib-eye). I did politely tell them and rightfully so, they didn’t charge me for my steak. They charged me for my sauce and side but hey ho. The bottle of Shiraz had LOTS of crystallised segments in it, to the point I couldn’t finish my last glass. Nothing was done about this when I also mentioned and showed the waitress. I was just told it was the amount of sugar that was in that particular bottle???? Was very disappointed."

"We had afternoon tea on 6th December at Bonham 's. As I have a variety of medical conditions I clearly and fully stated my dietary requirements on the booking. On arrival these were checked with the waiting staff, who assured me that the kitchen was aware of them and had complied with them. I requested no meat. When the food arrived, the sandwiches were wholly meat based. We asked for them to be replaced, which they were eventually with soft cheese and cucumber and some vegtable wraps. We had said that fish was ok but were not offered smoked salmon as stated was included on the menu. The scones were of a rock like and dry consistency and insufficent preserves for two people. The cakes included one that was chocolate (specific request no chocolate) and one that included chocolate in the decoration. When this was pointed out to the waiter, I was told 'chef presumed that only one person was asking for no chocolate '. Perhaps next time chef could ask? When I reminded the waiter that I wasn 't just being awkward, I had asked for alternatives because of medical reasons, he said he 'd see what he 'could do '. He returned with two very small macaroons. In addition, service was slow. I was both disappointed and upset. A small discount was negotiated from the bill but it didn 't make up for the appalling migraine that I woke up with the next morning because of Bonham 's failure to treat my request for dietary changes for medical reasons seriously."

"I had lunch here at the weekend with 6 members of my family, and 4 of us are vegan. We chose this restaurant because it has “vegan” options. When we asked about the vegan burger and chips, we were told that the chips are cooked in the same oil as meat, so they are not vegan. I found this quite concerning, as I couldn’t trust the menu after that. The manager was very polite about it, and she assured us that the menu would be changed, which I really hope it is. "--- Our dining experience was enjoyable overall. The food was nice and served hot, and both the waitress and waiter were pleasant and engaging. The drinks arrived promptly, and we didn’t have to wait long for our courses, which was a plus. However, we did encounter a few issues. The restaurant felt a bit under-staffed, and some of the tables were not cleared. We were initially given the wrong menu and had to inquire for about ten minutes to confirm it was correct. Our server didn’t check if we had a menu, which led to us receiving the festive menu instead. Luckily, another employee stepped in to help her. Additionally, the menu didn’t include everything that was available, and we only found out when we placed our orders (I wanted the chicken burger). Our table was quite sticky, so I had to use a napkin to protect my dress from sticking to it. The beer ran out quickly, and we were seated in a dimly lit area, making it difficult to read the menu and see our food. A brighter candle would have improved the situation, especially since our candle blew out. Lastly, my water glass had a hint of Malibu in it, so I had to ask for a replacement. Despite these drawbacks, we would consider returning as hotel guests since the quality of the food and the overall experience made it worthwhile."

"I took my mother to the Two Sisters restaurant for her birthday last Sunday. We were immediately greeted and informed about the brunch options (i.e. buffet versus brunch specials and other adjustments, such as turkey bacon instead of pork). I think this is a great place for a relaxed brunch and definitely for a mother-daughter date. We loved the food and the service. We drove to a Groupon and will definitely drive again without the Groupon. Worth it."

"I am loath to write poor reviews as I know how difficult it is to please everyone but I wish that I had checked Tripadvisor before entering this establishment. We visited during the Fringe Festival and therefore when our waiter told us of the list...of beers that were not available on their menu we were not too upset. We chose our meals and we did not wait too long for our food to arrive. That was when things started to go wrong. My Tomato and mozzarella salad starter was described as a taste of summer with four varieties of tomatoes marinated in a balsamic dressing with italian mozzarella and micro basil. What I received was a large bowl of salad leaves with small chunks of a fairly tasteless tomato and cubes of what tasted like the type of mozzarella used to top cheap pizzas. There was very little dressing not enough to cover the leaves) and it was disappointing. Not as disappointing as my friends peppered mackerel fillets salad which was supposed to be accompanied with artisan bread. The portion for the main course looked smaller than my starter portion, it was not peppered mackerel and it was only one small piece not the fillets described in the menu. We queried whether they had made a mistake and served a starter but we were told that it was correct, we were given a bowl of salad leaves when requested. I then ordered the chicken wrapped in bacon served with haggis fritter and mash. The chicken arrived minus the fritter, when I queried this with the waiter he questioned whether there should have been a fritter with it but he did return with a fritter and an apology ten minutes later. In fairness my chicken was tasty but you have to ask what is going on here. The food that is being served is not as described on the menu. A couple who came in after us left when there order was not taken. We would not return here, we did feel sorry for the waiting staff who were friendly and helpful, this is a management problem which needs urgent attention."

"the afternoon was good. a lot of sandwiches and small sweet tasty. my question was the actual price. my friend and I booked for the price of £18.50 when the bill arrived the actual tee was £20 plus there was an additional fee for the actual tee! your hot drink is included! we asked the waiter who was new in the post relatiw to take this extra charge off the bill. I was for many afternoons and that was a first. the food and the service was acceptable, but I would think twice about the return."
