"This restaurant was truly exceptional! Despite being very busy, we were able to secure a late reservation. The food was absolutely incredible, with a wide variety of options that made it hard to choose. We enjoyed a seafood platter, goatcheese mousse, ham hough, and oysters. For mains, we indulged in surf and turf (halibut and pigeon), ribeye steak, and delicious sides. We even took home some desserts that were heavenly. The staff truly made the experience even more memorable, with Elise and Nicki providing excellent service and knowledge about the menu, and bartender Sharice making a perfect after-dinner cocktail. It's definitely worth the price and time if you have the opportunity. Overall, a fantastic dining experience."

The vibe is elegant with tartan modern decor. The Sunday roast dinner was the most outstanding meal . The Yorkshire pudding was perfectly light with a complete of gourmet gravy . The presentation was provincial Scotland with copper accents. Staff was attentive and welcoming. Highly recommended!!! View menu

This is a great restaurant in Inverness with beautiful views. However, I found the food to be average compared to the price, especially considering the additional 20% tax. I highly recommend the salmon with chives from the starter menu, as it was delicious and flavorful. The duck and fish dishes were okay. The plating was fancy and made a good first impression.

When the steak FINALLY came, it was good. The server was friendly but it was very obvious he completely forgot about our order as people seated 45 minutes after us received their food. Apparently, you also have to request blankets when others were provided them at seating. A child nearly choked to death next to us outside and no one moved a bit except the patrons. **** poor service.

Quite lovely. We came into Inverness on a Thursday night and couldn't get a reservation anywhere. We decided to just come downtown and go to the first restaurant that would take us. That happened to be Riva. We were lucky. Really good food, i had the seafood gnocchi, and my table mates had the chicken. Nice bottle of Chianti, and very cute waiter, Stephen made for a very nice evening. Not too expensive, either. Try it out for sure, it's right on the river. View menu

We were recommended this place by a tour guide and so glad we went, the food was amazing, some of the best seafood we have ever eaten. We live on an island and eat alot of fresh sea food but this place was exceptional in cooking and presenting the food. We were so happy with our meal we went back the next night and ate here again. The seafood platter starter was the highlight, also the lobster and fillet steak was cooked perfectly. Staff were very welcoming and attentive I can see why they won an award for customer service.

The food and service were excellent at this restaurant. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The Cullen skink soup was delicious and hearty, and the fillet steak was cooked perfectly. The highlight was the thyme and red wine jus sauce, which I preferred over the peppercorn sauce. I would also recommend trying the sweet potato fries and feta cheese. The only reason I am giving it 4 stars is because the price was a bit high - £65 including tip for one person without alcohol or dessert. A full three-course meal for two with drinks could easily reach £200. However, the quality of the ingredients, attention to detail, and presentation justify the price for some. I would definitely return fo...

"Oh, what a day we had at The White House for my auntie’s 88th! It was pure magic, right from the off. The team there couldn’t have been more welcoming, making us all feel right at home in the heart of Scotland. Now, let’s gab about the food it was out of this world! We started with gluten free fish n chips, and let me tell you, it was as good as any chippy by the sea – crispy, golden, and just packed with flavor. The venison steak and beef short rib? Cooked just how you’d want them, tender and full of taste. The gluten free burgers were a hit too, so juicy and well seasoned. For pudding, we had these scoops of ice cream, smooth as you like, and an apple crunch cheesecake that was simply to die for. But it was our server, Anastasia, who really made our day. She was a wee star – always there with a smile, quick with a recommendation, and knew her menu inside out. I barely noticed our water bottle was empty, and whoosh, there she was with a full one. That’s service for you! The atmosphere in The White House was just as warm and inviting as you’d hope for. It felt like sitting in a cosy wee pub in the Highlands, with all the charm and friendliness you’d expect. So, if you’re ever in the mood for a meal that’s as satisfying as a wee dram on a cold night, head to The White House. It’s not just eating; it’s a proper Scottish experience, full of heart and soul"
