"The Last Visit. Many moons ago we were big fans of the Battersea branch and frequent, and always satisfied, visitors. However, last night's experience at the larger Balham branch will be our last to either Gazette. In summary, the food continues to be lardy French and delicious but the service and whole experience left a bitter taste in the mouth. This place has set its stall out and for what you're paying, one would expect more. Booked table for 9.15, only to find that table was given away (without apology, just a we didn't know how long your wife was going to be even though they had been told a couple of mins). When a table did free up we were offered a tiny table right by the glass...read more"

"We return to this restaurant every time we visit North Devon because the food is consistently fresh and delicious. Both the fish and meat are sourced locally."

"The dining experience was excellent, set in a beautiful environment, and surprisingly affordable. It might be a bit too quiet for those looking for a lively atmosphere, but we really enjoyed the restaurant and our meal. It's a shame that there weren't more diners, but that was the only downside!"

"the food was really delicious, the service was friendly and competent. it was all good. Except if I am honest for the poor! Some of the diners made so much noise to talk (real, screaming) that in this small room the three of us were not in the position to talk at all and had to sit there while waiting for our dinner. that's a shame when everything else was so good. some sound absorbing wall coverings could help with this problem."

"A fabulous Italian restaurant great atmosphere, fabulous service and food, and lovely staff. A group of six of us had dinner there on Saturday night after seeing Abba Voyage and when the staff heard where we had been they put Abba music on! It was my birthday and although no one in our party had told the staff they overheard us talking and made my dessert extra special with a huge sparkler. We had a great night and will definitely go back."

"A few problems with this restaurant in my view. The service was slow and inconsistent. At one point our coffee arrived with a bowl of sugar, even though we said we didn’t want sugar. It was taken away just to remove the sugar bowl, forgotten about and then arrived some minutes later. The food was, at best, average. My wife quite liked her pate and seafood linguine. However, although my fish soup was OK, the bouillabaisse was nothing like any bouillabaisse I’ve had before. A few pieces of fish, a couple of prawns in, what appeared to be, a thickened version of the fish soup again. Totally insubstantial. Unfortunately we were also close to the service lift so had to put up with endless banging and clattering. It was surprising that the service was so poor because the restaurant was probably less than 25% full. Not great value for money."

"I went to a hen do the other day, but thankfully it was only the warm up evening of a whole weekend when some loud but awesome Welsh women came to London. I only had to eat two gummy penises all night and essentially my involvement in the shenanigans was limited to a relativity straight-down-the-line jaunt up to Camden Tahn. I was given a little brief on this freakin’ rainy Friday night: to find a nice place to get food. Now Camden isn’t my forte when it comes to gastronomic knowledge of London neighbourhoods (though I am aware of a takeaway up there which serves rat), but I was aware that there is a Belgo up on Chalk Farm Road, and that seemed, in light of few rat-free options, a...read more"

"in the center of the medieval canterbury is an old and tasty restaurant, named for the famous Trapiste, which serves typical Belgian foods (although we are in england). this place is a cross between a bar, a tea room and a restaurant. besides a large selection of beers, they enjoy delicious dishes such as the exceptional burgers that are served with homemade brot, or the special tee with cream. the restaurant has a rustic feel, and each chair is another style. the terrace is magnificent, and there is even a pavillon, decorated with tiny lights that they feel like surrounded by stars in the midst of this beautiful medieval building. on the ground floor they find a piano with a sign that invites guests to entertain the audience with their musical talents. excellent service, with waiterven are always friendly and helpful."

"I first visited the Old Chain Pier 58 years ago in the hay day of Betty the bamboo spectacled owner). Despite many changes in ownership, the pub has maintained its ambience and charm. My 20 year old granddaughter enjoyed the experience as much as I. Not for nothing is it the favourite luncheon place of my old ex rugby playing contemporaries. Top tip is the Cullen Skink, but followed closely by mussels and fish and chips."

"The setting was pleasant, and the meals were satisfactory, but it didn't quite match the quality typically expected from a standard Italian restaurant. The bar staff provided good service, but unfortunately, our waitress was lacking and not very helpful."

"The area is small and cozy. The open kitchen gives off a homely feel. Perhaps it’s consistent with the white and wood combination, a classic modern home deco duo. The attire is typical of the upscale South Ken, split between chic and trendy gym-wear The Tuna Tartare and Crunchy Green Avocado Salad come highly recommended. I decide to be different and choose the Salmon and Avocado tartare. After all, there’s no such thing as too much avocado. Or so I think. The tartare is similar to a large sushi without rice. The flavours are fresh, but can’t say I’m thrilled, and the portion is slightly generous for an appetizer. Seeing the tuna around me, I’m slightly envious of my...read more"

"The first course arrived promptly, but it was a significant disappointment. We ordered half a duck and pancakes, expecting a reasonable portion, but what we received was the tiniest serving imaginable. It bore no resemblance to the half duck we usually enjoy at other restaurants. What we had was dry, bland, and not worth the £30 price tag. To make matters worse, our main courses were served before they had cleared away the plates from our first course, leaving us with no space on the table for the entrees. We had to literally request that they clean the table so we could fit the main dishes. The restaurant was quite empty, and it felt like they wanted us to leave as quickly as possible so they could close up. When we voiced our concerns about the food and service, the staff laughed at us, which was incredibly unprofessional. It's no wonder the restaurant was so empty. Located in the Dorsett Hotel in a busy area of London, none of the six of us plan to return. Although we had considered staying at the hotel on our next trip due to its affordability, this experience has ensured that we will not be returning, as it poorly reflects on the hotel’s overall reputation."

"We were there for a friends birthday on 18 Feb. Manager and staff were amazing especially during a brief power cut due to storm Eunice. They made sure everyone was OK and reassured that drinks and food would still be served. They must have been under immense pressure but you would never know it. Fabulous ."

"British pub with some vegan options and vegetarian too. They have nice food there. However when there is football on TV they will have short menu and not vegan options. They have changed the menu and they have different options now. Still nachos. I had a burrito bowl which was lovely but not for people who doesn't like spice. "the first time I dimmed here, and I enjoyed it very much. I took my mother to lunch when we often did, but never thought to go in. we had a warm reception at the one and inwss impressed by the decor and cleanliness, much more 'chic' than their normal pub. it was a busy lunch, we were not in a hurry, so the time between starter and main was perfect. our appetizers were beautiful, grilled cocktail and pate and caramelized onion chutney. I recommend the tempoura fish and chips, tasty, non-greasy or so. beautiful chips, draughts and tartar sauce. my mother had steak and chips that they also enjoyed. our waitress was very warm and friendly. some updates pictures of a lunch in December 2021 a beautiful place, with perfect service and delicious food. the service is not included, and the machine did not allow to add, so if you want to type, they must have cash on them."

"Deliveroo again. Flavours are amazing! Vegan chicken, Caesar salad, which I really enjoyed. I chose the carbonara pizza as I saw on another review that it was highly recommended, I can also highly recommend it really amazing flavours and I had additional mushrooms and garlic on mine. Another year passed, I had more deliverys from here. I opted for the blue cheese and roasted pear pizza which was spicy with chilli oil and cold courgetti with pesto and sun dried tomato, both excellent. Next night I had the ceasar salad again (still good), mac and cheese and roasted cheesy potatoes. Everything was excellent. One of my favs! Updated from previous review on 2023-01-11"

"We had a wonderful meal at this restaurant. The service and staff were fantastic. The only issue we encountered was that the menu online was different from the one we received at the table. This discrepancy should be addressed, as other customers have also mentioned the same issue. Despite this, we will definitely return as it was a great spot for a pre-theater dinner and the prices were very reasonable. Thank you again."

"Having never quite been convinced by the menu and decor to ever entertain an evening out at Missoula, it came as a welcome surprise how wonderful the new occupier of the premises is proving to be. The bustling Friday trade did not slow the service...and we received a mouthwatering array of small plates and a sharing platter more than ample for our group of three. I highly recommend the small plates the selection of five provides a lip smacking variety of dishes ranging from cauliflower wings (delightful) to arancini balls and burnt beef ends. Actually also a fan of the sharing platter with chicken wings, chicken strips, onion rings, chips, roast, medley of sauces and sausage. All whilst absorbing gorgeous views over the River Ouse..... a delightful way to spend a Friday evening (or any evening for that matter"

"Visited here for afternoon tea with my work. The service was terrible, you had to chase the staff for service because after they gave us the meal they were no where to be seen and when we did get hold of them they took a ridiculous amount of time to get back to you that tea was cold. The food was not pleasant. Burnt scones, stale bread, cheesecake that can only be described as mush. When we complained the manager said we would need to complain to head office but never gave us correct info, he said he would deal with in straight away but it took days for someone to get back to us. Their reply was our staff would've been free to help if we asked even though it was stated staff were not available or if they were the time scale was ridiculous. Other people in the party also sent a email complain and never received a reply and the table behind us also complained on the day. We were apprehensive about going back here after the Christmas party wasn't very good either but thought we would give it the benefit of doubt. That was a mistake on my behalf. Wouldn't recommend!"
