"We went to the restaurant for lunch to commemorate the anniversary of my father-in-law's passing two years ago. The restaurant was very busy, which is always a good sign, so we were happy that we had made a reservation in advance, especially during half term. However, the noise level was a bit high, making it difficult to hear our own conversation at times. We were seated at a nice table by the fire, which made the atmosphere cozy as we waited for our food. The menu was extensive and diverse, just like our previous visit for my mother-in-law's birthday. She ordered the seabass again and was not disappointed. Despite the generous portion size, she opted for a smaller dessert and complimentary hot drink, which added the perfect finishing touch to a memorable dining experience for her."

"inspiration from some of the most important historical personalities londons and local history; hyatt regency london – the churchill is a hotel with strata. the montagu, the more casual restaurant of the hotel, was originally built as a home of london socialite elizabeth montagu and her husband edward, the enkel des earl of sandwich. elizabeth montagu was the “Queen of the blue Stockings” and hosted great literary evenings for the leading politicians, artists and writers of the day as well as nurturing emerging intellectuals. Today the room is a beautiful modern restaurant with views of the portman square, a busy open kitchen and a fantastic menu with fresh products."

"I had difficulty with the menu at this restaurant because I am following a low-carb diet and most dishes came with chips or potatoes. When I asked if I could substitute haloumi fries for chips, I was told that I would have to pay extra for them. The chips on the menu were priced at ÂŁ2.95, while the haloumi was ÂŁ3.95. Instead of being charged the difference, I was charged for both. The waitress initially said I could have the haloumi, then returned to say I couldn't, but asked if I wanted a salad instead. In the end, I just asked her to bring me whatever. I have never been to a restaurant that was unable to accommodate such a simple request. I ended up with steak, vine tomatoes that I had to remove the stalks from, and haloumi fries that were quite dry in my opinion."

"We had a nice dinner at Heron's overall. My main observation is that they seemed to be understaffed, which affected the speed of taking orders and the level of attention we received. The Margherita I ordered wasn't very good, and it was quite clear that the prawn cocktail was made with frozen prawns. It's a casual spot for a meal, but it's not fine dining."

"First of all, there was only one poor girl front of house, Lianne, serving drinks, making coffee, taking food orders and serving table, and she did it brilliantly. We had booked a table, and ordered drinks, but still had a fair wait for food. I ordered the gammon and eggs, and a mountain of peas, and apart from a small ramekin of chips it was good. My wife ordered the Chicken Penang curry, which consisted of five strips of chicken, a solid fusion of rice, and lots of beans. As a side she ordered a ramekin of chips at ÂŁ2.95. What a rip off!!! Our daughter ordered the Steak, chips and bearnaise sauce ÂŁ20.20p. to be cooked medium rare which, was cold and over cooked. It was subsequently sent back. By the time the replacement steak had arrived my wife and I had nearly finished our meals and our daughter had lost her appetite!! In conclusion I would suggest that this establishment needs a good shake up, the food is definitely overpriced for a pub meal, and I would recommend anyone considering a meal in this pub to give it a wide berth."

"I was surprised to find such a complicated vegan option on the menu, with ingredients as since. really beautiful aromen a friendly greeting of (I think the) owners who are dame is vegetarian myself I could hear that they promote the Veggy options. they were very kind, they did not expect to be a visitor in "this kind" of pubs. the cook is called ariel and deserves a mention."

"We are regular visitors as we knew the owner from many years at Rinaldis. We often get emails offering 20% off which means we can come more regularly. Last night there was some confusion over the 20% and we were charged for 2 course meals which we hadn’t had. We had shared a garlic tomato bread and had 3 pizzas. We queried the bill but it was as though they didn’t want to give us it. As a result, the young girl tried to sort it and even though the bill was cheaper than the previous bill, £6.15 service charge had been added. We’ve been coming here since the restaurant opened and I’ve never been charged service charge as I always leave a tip. So in the end the 20% was a waste of time and was barely a saving. The stress of sorting it all out was such a hassle so won’t be going now. There was an older guy there who may have been the manager but he didn’t say anything about it. When we left, nobody said goodbye or thank you. Disappointing."

"We have visited this restaurant three times and each time the food has been fantastic. The only issue we encountered during our last visit was with the seating. We chose to sit by the window, but unfortunately it was very cold and we had to keep our coats on."

"I made a reservation through the app, but upon arriving at the restaurant, I was abruptly informed that my booking was not in the system. Despite showing confirmation, the person who greeted guests was not helpful and only offered a table when prompted. The only available space was in the bar area. The waitresses provided good service, being attentive, polite, and quick. Unfortunately, the food portions and quality did not match the price paid. It's a shame because the location is nice and the pub has a cozy atmosphere."

"We stopped at this restaurant for brunch during a boating trip with friends. It was a charming and cozy pub with a friendly atmosphere. Despite its size, the pub has been divided into smaller sections, creating a private and intimate ambiance. The food and service were exceptional, and we were impressed by our waitress who memorized all five of our orders, including drinks, without writing anything down. Everything was delivered to our table correctly, making for a delightful experience. Though we didn't take any pictures at the pub, we have uploaded some from our holiday on Charlie the blue monkey's Instagram page."

"First visit on a Sunday lunch date. First impressions were good, good car park, quaint pub. Inside was what you would expect, traditional pub with what looked like emphasis on food. Not a long wait and we were seated right next to the serving bar. Order was taken and starter quickly arrived. Hot on the edges, tepid mushrooms, waterery sauce. Decided to not say anything (First date) only to be asked if I finished half way through! Main course, one beef , one pork roast... no flavour, chewy, waterery gravy... real disappointment. Didn’t ask for a desert. All in all? Too rushed, no quality control on the food at all. Service was fine. Could have been a great meal, unfortunately the food was poor, and that was the main reason for going! You know it was bad when your date asks “Who on earth recommended that place?”. Shame."

"What a great pub. We have driven past the Springfield so many times, but had never visited, until now. What a fantastically situated pub. We sat outside in the gardens and it was great, it was quiet, clean and well maintained. The pub itself is tastefully set out and it makes you want to go in the evening. The staff are very friendly and very helpful. It is well priced and the food is fantastic, if you are a fan of a burger, then treat yourself to their signature burger, it looks and tastes superb. We will definitely be going again and I would suggest that everyone else gives it a try. A real hidden gem."

"Usually a pleasant visit was, but ginger haired girl behind the bar was extremely rude and unpleasant. We had a request to the weekend contract offer, she was abrupt when she then began to call to someone in the middle of the conversation with us, then we got blinds from the girl after the decision to place our order with someone else. Usually visit a few times a month, but to be honest, this visit has to visit me in the future. Teach your employees Manieren! Other than that, food was very nice."

"What a horrendous experience. I really don’t know where to start, we work hard all year and finished work on Friday 22nd so booked to go to the star on Saturday to start our family Christmas celebrations. Were had a dreadful year and were looking forward to a nice meal out. Firstly when we arrived the waitress came within minutes to take our order. I asked if we could order drinks and just give us a few minutes to look at the food menu. My son ordered a regular Coke, I ordered the Christmas cosmo cocktail and my husband the zero alcohol peroni. My god this was hard work , firstly I was told they might not be able to do the cocktail, my son was brought a pint of Coke and my husband a pint of peroni? He queried if it was correct as shed checked at least 3 times before what he wanted and was assured it was. However a few minutes later the waitress rushed over to advise it was in fact alcohol!! She then didn’t come back to take our food order for over 30 mins (I’d point out at this point the restaurant was more than half empty) When taking the food order we ordered the cheesy garlic bread , chorizo bites and olives to share as a starter. We were advised they didn’t have any cheese , so the bread would just be garlic bread. We agreed that would be fine. My husband ordered the duo of lamb, sorry no lamb was the response ! Eventually after another long wait our starters came out and omg ! The garlic bread was burnt to a crisp ! Black ! My husband took this back to the waitress and told her to take it back and take off our bill. How on earth any self respecting chef let that leave the kitchen , or a waitress bring that to a customer’s table is insulting. When the mains came we were at the point of giving up. Both my husbands main and my main were cold !! Stone cold. We decided to just eat what we could and get out of there. So we asked for the bill. We waited and waited and waited. All the time all three members of staff were huddled around the til. Obviously having an issue. But instead of coming over and apologising for the wait we were left sitting there. Eventually after calling IT they resolved the issue. On the way out my husband did express how bad the experience was. The manager offered to deduct something off the bill. But that would make no difference to our ruined lunch out. The food is below par, the prices were an absolute rip off!! Nearly £30 for a burger with a pig in blanket screwed to the top. I will not be returning here. It was a shame because 13 months ago we’d had a lovely meal , but this experience was horrendous. Never again"

"Ate here during the 50% off mains Black Friday offer and the restaurant was very busy, however our waitress Tracy was super attentive from start. She gave us the time we needed to order without forgetting about us and was friendly and chatty. There was an issue with one of the meals which was dealt with quickly by Tracy and then by Paul the Manager and once sorted, the food was good. Food: 4"

"I made a reservation at the restaurant/pub through OpenTable, and received confirmation. Everything seemed fine. However, a few hours later, I received a call from The Crown saying they were fully booked and could not honor my reservation. I'm not sure where the issue lies, but my experience with The Crown through OpenTable was extremely disappointing. I would recommend booking directly with the restaurant in the future, although this shouldn't have been necessary."

"The hotel was excellent, the staff so welcoming. The atmosphere is so peaceful. The breakfast was absolutely spot on. I would recommend this hotel to all, it is a 3 minute walk to the Poplar DLR station which then gets you access to all of London Transport and Underground. If going to the O2 then this is the hotel to choose IMO. Parking for the Hotel is use the Indigo Car park on West India Quay, ÂŁ22 for 24hrs (at time of this review). But you get a ÂŁ4 reduction on showing your VAT reciept from the Hotel. The car park is walking distance, 15 mins or just 1 stop to Poplar via the DLR. (Oyster card recommended). But please do not just take my word for it, search other reviews or better still take a London trip and stay yourself, you will not be disappointed."

"The Sunday lunch at this restaurant was very disappointing. The roast potatoes were soggy and not enough, the cabbage was tough, and the gravy was tasteless. The waitress tried to hard sell the cauliflower cheese, but it was horrible - bland and soggy. We were let down by the meal, especially since our previous midweek meal here had been perfect. The restaurant is lovely overall, despite a noisy child at a nearby table. For a nice Sunday lunch, I recommend going elsewhere. We returned for another midweek meal and were again disappointed. My chips were overcooked and inedible, and the homemade battered onion rings had no batter - just greasy onions. The wait time was long. It's a shame because the restaurant has a lot of potential."
