"Very disappointing all round. I’ve been so impressed by the Chef before lockdown. Delicious appealing dishes full of flavour. We chose not to have alcohol so we could fully taste the food. His vegan menu selection I thought unappealing and far too light for grown up diners who need proper protein balanced vegan food. To enjoy food I need enticing aromas rising from each dish. There were none. I’m not a vegan as I’m 75 and observe that nutritionists advise me to include some animal protein including red meat to provide me with essential nutrients. But I enjoy vegan food… when it’s flavoursome and has gorgeous aromas.. think hot freshly roasted crispy skin of chicken/duck/potatoes/roast onion. I cannot recommend the current menu. Leaving this aside, why is it some French waiters put down their diners? They’ve a reputation for arrogance they deserve on the evidence of my experience here. Most uncomfortable. So all together for the reasons I’ve explained I cannot recommend this restaurant. CH"

"We waited an hour for food that never came. Whilst the restaurant was relatively empty we were stuck on a tiny table. When another dinner arrived she was seated directly next to us, despite 5 other tables in the same area being free. The tables were already close together but to ensure the empty tables had enough space her table was moved closer. So close I was unable to get out! So bad I cancelled the food and left."

"The building itself is very interesting, consisting of an old Greek church and an adjoining building. It's well appointed, and the staff are very friendly and helpful. It was comfortably warm when we were there. There is a bar and a bistro in the basement of the hotel which looked good (didn't try, see below). Location is good, not in the centre of things but only a small walk away; we only walked for the few days we were there. Room was well maintained and had some great tea and coffee options. Only minor gripes on the downside, opportunities for improvement. The bar only had lagers and an IPA. No darker beers, not even cans of Guinness or similar. Seemed an odd omission. The duvet on the bed was too much for the temperature in the room. I eventually pulled the duvet out to just use the cover as a sheet which was more than enough. There was no separate light for the cupboard including the hot drinks and the safe. This meant you need to put all the ceiling lights on to see, which wasn't great for anyone sleeping at the time. Should be easy to fit something more specific. We also had a room next to the linen cupboard, so we were woken up each morning by the housekeepers opening doors, chatting, banging trollies. Not so bad because we needed to get up, but if you didn't it might annoy. But it's only one room."

"Firstly, if you book via Open Table then call the restaurant and confirm they received your booking. There doesn't appear to be the option of feeding back on Open Table's App/service. It is a regular complaint that Open Table bookings aren't received and people are turned away, I am told. The restaurant itself was pretty good. Good service and the food was good. The bar area was very rowdy (Saturday night), so there was the background noise from that, but the restaurant itself had a good ambience."

"This restaurant is absolutely wonderful! The atmosphere is fantastic, we were quickly seated at our table. The staff were very pleasant, the food was well-prepared and delicious! Our server, a friendly Hungarian man, had a great personality. Thank you for providing such a great dining experience."
