Succulent seared tuna, seasoned to perfection, served with a savory glaze and complemented by fresh greens for a delightful meal.

"Just really really slow not great service. Specified it was a corporate lunch and the main server (lady) was just really unhelpful and really giving us disdained looks all meal. Often tried to catch people’s attention during the meal and they’d look the other way. A shame, because I had been a week before and enjoyed myself a lot for a corporate lunch, it was spot on, the server was wonderful."

"Had lunch here yesterday. What a gem. Please book, always busy by the looks of it we were in Chester for the day. Staff where very friendly the interior is quirky and lovely. Had the vegetarian breakfast was delicious, was also great that tea is served in a pot with china cups and you get more than one cup out of the pot. Had a delicious dessert too and an espresso Martini with a shot of hazelnut. Delicious the best I have had. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting Chester to eat here was lovely. Will definitely be returning again."

"We booked here for an Afternoon Tea to celebrate our Anniversary It is a shame that there wasn 't any choice of afternoon teas today apart from the Easter Afternoon Tea as we had been there before and had the Gentlemans Tea menu On the plus side, the staff were friendly and welcoming here. The warm scones were good but could have been slightly larger like normal scones). The sandwiches however were very poor as the bread was dry and some of the fillings were quite sparse between the slices of bread the classic cucumber with beetroot cream cheese on tomato bread for example) had hardly any beetroot and cream cheese on it. We mentioned about the dry bread issue when paying for the Afternoon Tea but not much of a response came back or offer of any compensation. The selection of cakes looked very 'artisan ' but were very sweet. Some were quite sickly sweet. The little nest with the chocolate eggs inside was probably the best of the cakes. This Afternoon Tea was quite expensive for what it was £56 for 2 people) this included a pot of tea or a cup of coffee which they would top up on request). My rating is based on this Afternoon Tea is of poor value. The attentiveness of the staff over the teas and coffee 's and the relaxing feel of the birch room where we dined were the only plus points of the experience. So overall not what we hoped our Anniversary Afternoon Tea Celebration was going to have been."

"Great place service and our waiter was spot on. Only downfall we ordered lamb chops and the fat on them was a joke!! Must of had two to three mouthfuls of actual lamb all the rest was fat. Ruined the experience really. The other food was great. Never waited long for food or drinks. Lovely place, fab atmosphere staff are great."

"I have been to Soyo several times over the years and have seen many changes in their menu. Currently, the food is excellent with a diverse menu, fresh flavors, and great service. However, the turnover rate is high, so the quality of service can vary. The yogurt and pasta dishes are very popular, and the breakfast options are delicious."

"I don't usually like to leave bad reviews but I was so disappointed I wanted to spare other vegans the same experience. I was asked if I had any dietary requirements and I said I was vegan. They brought my mushroom spring rolls out with a sour cream dip which wasn't vegan. The waiter said he could make the Singapore noodles vegan too, but when it arrived it had an egg in it The Tofu hotpot was very tasty and the vegan chick'n and black bean was too but not worth the cost. Very expensive!! There is a DJ playing music that is so loud you can barely hear the people at your own table. The cherry blossom trees are over the top too the waiter made a point of telling us all about them as soon as we sat down. Individual petals made from silk you picked the wrong customer to impress with that story I'm afraid. A VEGAN!"

"We liked this place. The staff was super friendly and nice. One of the drinks we ordered with the pea flower gin was really outstanding. We had the rice cracker, shishito pepper, a cuke salad and squid starters. The crackers were great the salsa ordinary and did not detect shiso in the avocado. The cuke salad was good but would have liked more cukes to lettuce ratio. The squid was ok, not great, and skimpy but the yuzu mayo was really great. The peppers were ok. We had miso eggplant, pork belly and duck. The eggplant itself was good, not so crazy about the miso preparation. The pork was great and the duck was also very good. We weren’t crazy about the plum sauce; it needed something. These dishes would have been improved by some green onions and a bunch of cilantro. We had the cheesecake dessert with whiskey ice cream. Found the cheesecake bland but loved the ice cream . They very kindly brought the child with us a sweetly decorated scoop of mango sorbet which she loved. This restaurant is rated 4 1/2 stars. I would rate it 4.3 based on our visit but we might have ordered more adventurously with out a child in tow."

"Had an amazing experience in the restaurant also had a fab experience in the bar area with a very knowledgeable bar person didn’t get his name. His knowledge and ability of making cocktails and chat made our afternoon. The food was delicious and and the staff were also very knowledgeable, nice and polite. Can’t wait to return"

"This restaurant is a hidden gem. The service was excellent as we were attended to by the same gentleman throughout our meal. He was softly spoken and not intrusive, yet very attentive to our needs. He promptly refilled our drinks and offered us additional cutlery without us having to ask. The food exceeded our initial expectations, especially considering the reasonable prices of £8-15 for a main course."

"the best japaners in the opposite; tasty eating, cheap, great service they can not ask for much more. I went on a Sunday afternoon in the afternoon when it was quite quiet, and had a lot of straightened (all pictured). the service was fast and friendly, and offered advices to menu points. the sushi tasted fresh, the curry was unique and tasteful, and the bark was so good I would recommend it very much. for two people with a decent amount of sushi, two meals and a drink each (a tea, a beer,) it came to £40, not bad at all. overall, they try hibagon when they are in the opposite, it is good to travel."

"I was looking for a reliable pub in the area for my birthday lunch and having read some bleak reviews of places near by I settled on The Prince Bonaparte because the menu looked good. I'm so very glad I came here the space is airy, our waiter couldn't have been more professional and considerate, and the food was great. I will definitely come back. The age range of our group was 4 84 and we all had a wonderful experience."

"The food was good but……. Service was awful, ordered wine and it was basically dumped at the bottom of our table not even the top taken off ! Pizza was good also the burger, was a chore for the waitress to get us any sauces. When we had finished we were asked can I take your plates, No can I offer you a dessert, coffee nothing. After 20 mins we got up and had to ask for our bill at the main desk, again a chore for the member of staff to have to get our bill.what a shame as it could be a very high rating place to eat."

"beautiful location with huge windows to see the world over. sadly work out a bit outside, but nothing that the restaurant could control. the service was mostly good. unfortunately my filet steak was quite over boiled and I got an end piece that fell apart (strong and hard,) instead of 1 ordinary piece of meat. if I will pay £25 for 6 ounces of meat, it must be a good cut, and cooked to order (medium rare not medium hard.) replaced without asking, but when the new steak had been boiled my mother had finished her main course. not ideal to compensate for a coffee, etc. not likely to return."

"The sushi at this restaurant was excellent and incredibly filling. I have tried sushi in many places, but this was the first time I have seen sushi so loaded with meat and fillings! The robata grill was also fantastic, with the Mongolian lamb chops being flavorful and perfectly cooked. The service was top-notch as well, receiving a perfect 10/10 rating. The value for money was outstanding, especially considering the central London location. The only downside was that the restaurant is a bit small, so larger groups may feel a bit cramped. Overall, I would give this restaurant a perfect 10/10 rating."

"Do they taste the food?! What a shame. Lovely night out because of the company. The serving staff were friendly and pretty attentive, but the food was not good. My friend and I ordered muscles as a main. The muscles themselves were cleaned and cooked well, and they were nice big muscles. But the whole dish completely lacked flavour. There was hardly any sauce, and what was there appeared to be simply made of unsalted butter and water with some boiled onions thrown in. It was very odd! The muscles were nearly £20 and it was an eye watering £5 for a side of chips. Because dinner was so disappointing (for most one friend enjoyed a nice meal), we opted to finish the meal on high other dessert. I had gyspy tart. The tart itself was yummy, but again, the ice cream completely lacked flavour. It was like they hadn't tasted it. It was so strange. For a place with a typical price point of £30 for a maim course, I'd expect a lot better. I won't be returning. At a final bill of £60 per head (with alcohol), it was vastly overpriced and completely disappointing. Service: 5"

"If you want a Japanese delivery with the best classic dishes in Edinburgh, I would say this is the best. I have checked the other Japanese delivery and the menu is not as extensive as this one. I ordered quite a huge selection of food...to have a proper taste of their food. The fish was fresh I have to say. The sushi and the temaki rice are great as well but they tend to put too much rice so the whole thing becomes like a big clump with too much rice. I know the bigger portion the bigger the value but with Japanese sushi and temaki it needs to be moderately supplied to ensure it does not destroy the fresh fish flavour. The fried chicken chicken karaage seems to be a bit on a dry side but they supplied plenty of the chicken for the portion. The agedashi tofu has a harder tofu than I thought but good broth. The soft shell crab tempura was almost not worth it with just 2 or 3 pieces of crab so best to avoid. The only highlight I thought was definitely the Aubergine with Miso Sauce. The aubergine was properly roasted to provide intense flavour and the thick miso sauce really complemented the aubergine. The dishes were clearly prepared with a thought of delivery quick and roughly prepared to mimic Japanese food. I have to say there is definitely room for improvement and they really need to improve on the quality of the food."

"Had been here a few times before and we always liked coming for lunch as it was a lovely vibe and food was delicious. Unfortunately we had a very unpleasant experience this time on my partners birthday, they didn’t have our table ready and then we got put in the forgotten corner and we had to go and ask twice for someone to take our order and then it took a while for the food to come and when it came they brought out the wrong items and the food was quite bland and small portions not worth the money."

"Hidden gem! Decided to visit this after visiting Tate Modern, and it was a lovely place to go and have lunch. Off the beaten track, but this place has a fun and quirky vibe. The sashimi was a highlight served on ice to keep it tasting lovely and fresh. <br/ <br/ The sweet potato korokke was unsurprisingly delicious (it always is) and the salmon sushi platter was a fun selection that takes you out of your comfort zone, including some of their ‘bombs’. <br/ <br/ The tea was also a fun little touch in this contraption that sits above your cup and pulls the water through. <br/ <br/ All in all, a fun experience with a bit of novelty thrown in!"
