"Just really really slow not great service. Specified it was a corporate lunch and the main server (lady) was just really unhelpful and really giving us disdained looks all meal. Often tried to catch people’s attention during the meal and they’d look the other way. A shame, because I had been a week before and enjoyed myself a lot for a corporate lunch, it was spot on, the server was wonderful."

"We received a warm welcome upon arrival at the restaurant and were promptly seated at our table with menus. The menu was well explained to us and we ordered a glass of champagne while we waited for our afternoon tea to be served. The sandwiches were flavorful, though slightly dry, and the cake selection was excellent, particularly the strawberry shortcake. Unfortunately, the scones were disappointing - they were small, dry, and claggy, leaving a strange aftertaste and making them difficult to swallow. The scones should have been the highlight of the experience, but in this case they were truly awful. It was a shame, as everything else, especially the service, was top-notch."

"I have been to this restaurant twice for meals and was not disappointed. I visited last week and tried some dishes from the Tattu tasting menu, which included three courses for £28. The selection on the menu was great and the food was just as good as what I had when I tried the regular menu. The service was attentive and excellent. I highly recommend trying the cherry blossom dessert, which includes sweetness, chocolate, and cherry - it was delicious."

"We booked here for an Afternoon Tea to celebrate our Anniversary It is a shame that there wasn 't any choice of afternoon teas today apart from the Easter Afternoon Tea as we had been there before and had the Gentlemans Tea menu On the plus side, the staff were friendly and welcoming here. The warm scones were good but could have been slightly larger like normal scones). The sandwiches however were very poor as the bread was dry and some of the fillings were quite sparse between the slices of bread the classic cucumber with beetroot cream cheese on tomato bread for example) had hardly any beetroot and cream cheese on it. We mentioned about the dry bread issue when paying for the Afternoon Tea but not much of a response came back or offer of any compensation. The selection of cakes looked very 'artisan ' but were very sweet. Some were quite sickly sweet. The little nest with the chocolate eggs inside was probably the best of the cakes. This Afternoon Tea was quite expensive for what it was £56 for 2 people) this included a pot of tea or a cup of coffee which they would top up on request). My rating is based on this Afternoon Tea is of poor value. The attentiveness of the staff over the teas and coffee 's and the relaxing feel of the birch room where we dined were the only plus points of the experience. So overall not what we hoped our Anniversary Afternoon Tea Celebration was going to have been."

"I don't usually like to leave bad reviews but I was so disappointed I wanted to spare other vegans the same experience. I was asked if I had any dietary requirements and I said I was vegan. They brought my mushroom spring rolls out with a sour cream dip which wasn't vegan. The waiter said he could make the Singapore noodles vegan too, but when it arrived it had an egg in it The Tofu hotpot was very tasty and the vegan chick'n and black bean was too but not worth the cost. Very expensive!! There is a DJ playing music that is so loud you can barely hear the people at your own table. The cherry blossom trees are over the top too the waiter made a point of telling us all about them as soon as we sat down. Individual petals made from silk you picked the wrong customer to impress with that story I'm afraid. A VEGAN!"

"This restaurant is a hidden gem. The service was excellent as we were attended to by the same gentleman throughout our meal. He was softly spoken and not intrusive, yet very attentive to our needs. He promptly refilled our drinks and offered us additional cutlery without us having to ask. "the best japaners in the opposite; tasty eating, cheap, great service they can not ask for much more. I went on a Sunday afternoon in the afternoon when it was quite quiet, and had a lot of straightened (all pictured). the service was fast and friendly, and offered advices to menu points. the sushi tasted fresh, the curry was unique and tasteful, and the bark was so good I would recommend it very much. for two people with a decent amount of sushi, two meals and a drink each (a tea, a beer,) it came to £40, not bad at all. overall, they try hibagon when they are in the opposite, it is good to travel."

"I went to have lunch today here and it was lovely and cosy! The food is always excellent and well served in such a neat pretty professional way. The staff team are all amazing with a humble welcoming sweet way to make you feel welcomed and want you to enjoy your visit with food drink and laughter! It's got a rustic look but smart and sleek at the same time so I always feel warm and cosy when dine and drink here. I was also here with my family the day before Christmas eve and we had an beautiful meal it was sooooo festive and cheerful it was very special. We all had a fantastic fun festive day! "The food was good but……. Service was awful, ordered wine and it was basically dumped at the bottom of our table not even the top taken off ! Pizza was good also the burger, was a chore for the waitress to get us any sauces. When we had finished we were asked can I take your plates, No can I offer you a dessert, coffee nothing. After 20 mins we got up and had to ask for our bill at the main desk, again a chore for the member of staff to have to get our bill.what a shame as it could be a very high rating place to eat."

"oka is a chain of Japanese restaurants with deposits in london at the time of this review. I visited oka as my second choice when visiting the kingly court after a disappointing wait for shoryu. I had lucky that shoryu served me terrible because they served me one of the best shushi I've ever eaten. it was a weekend and the place was full, but being a solo dinner, I got table in no time. the server didn't suggest anything to me. Anyway, I ordered rendang chicken skewers as starter with rainbow roll and negroni for later. skewers were really delicious, although run the mill tasteful, but rainbow roll was star of the show. versatile, fresh and tasty with every bite, this is a plate I highly recommend. later I ordered hot cookie dough with matcha and espresso macchiato. dessert was also perfect and complements eating before it perfect. regarding the service, it was passable, but I expect more at soho. they served with efficiency, but the hospitality and energy was totally vanille. my neck was gbp, that is on par, what this soho calculated, its not cheap, but they know that they would pay a little steeper for the opposite, so that no problem for me as to me."

Only reason for 4 satars is that they keep their office in a table inside the eating room and play some pop music all the time. Get rid of the music and the office table and it is better than the other famous japanese restaurant in Edinburgh. Food is the best. Delicious and well presented."

"Had been here a few times before and we always liked coming for lunch as it was a lovely vibe and food was delicious. Unfortunately we had a very unpleasant experience this time on my partners birthday, they didn’t have our table ready and then we got put in the forgotten corner and we had to go and ask twice for someone to take our order and then it took a while for the food to come and when it came they brought out the wrong items and the food was quite bland and small portions not worth the money."

"my man loves this place. they recommend it to everyone we meet. we always get a cordial greeting, the man gets a hand shake, the staff is very polite and can not do enough for them. eating is fantastic, eating michael star style when they ask me! it is such a beautiful, picturesque place within the newly renovated outdoor kitchen make it a desirable place in the summer months. if they are looking for cheap pub grub, this place is 't for them, but they will get great gastro style pub eating with a great atmosphere. highly recommended."

"Much as we love the hotel, The Mirabelle restaurant is vastly over-priced and no longer delivering value for money. My husband’s starter AND his main dish were both just luke warm. My main meal priced at an astonishing £36 was Iberico pork on mashed potato. I would have been happy but the pork was tough as old boots and because it was so poor, an accompanying sprouting broccoli would have been some compensation but obviously the Mirabelle management now wants to charge extra for such luxuries. My husband did get a price reduction but I suffered in silence. Please! This restaurant needs returning to its previous excellence which has been missing for the last 3-4 years. You cannot justify very high Michelin prices for poorly executed dishes. Either reduce prices, improve by a great deal the culinary offerings or close the restaurant. Unfortunately, I feel hard done by, paying so much for such poor quality."
