"Just really really slow not great service. Specified it was a corporate lunch and the main server (lady) was just really unhelpful and really giving us disdained looks all meal. Often tried to catch people’s attention during the meal and they’d look the other way. "We received a warm welcome upon arrival at the restaurant and were promptly seated at our table with menus. The menu was well explained to us and we ordered a glass of champagne while we waited for our afternoon tea to be served. The sandwiches were flavorful, though slightly dry, and the cake selection was excellent, particularly the strawberry shortcake. Unfortunately, the scones were disappointing - they were small, dry, and claggy, leaving a strange aftertaste and making them difficult to swallow. The scones should have been the highlight of the experience, but in this case they were truly awful. It was a shame, as everything else, especially the service, was top-notch."

"I have been to this restaurant twice for meals and was not disappointed. I visited last week and tried some dishes from the Tattu tasting menu, which included three courses for £28. The selection on the menu was great and the food was just as good as what I had when I tried the regular menu. The service was attentive and excellent. I highly recommend trying the cherry blossom dessert, which includes sweetness, chocolate, and cherry - it was delicious."

"I don't usually like to leave bad reviews but I was so disappointed I wanted to spare other vegans the same experience. I was asked if I had any dietary requirements and I said I was vegan. They brought my mushroom spring rolls out with a sour cream dip which wasn't vegan. The waiter said he could make the Singapore noodles vegan too, but when it arrived it had an egg in it The Tofu hotpot was very tasty and the vegan chick'n and black bean was too but not worth the cost. Very expensive!! There is a DJ playing music that is so loud you can barely hear the people at your own table. The cherry blossom trees are over the top too the waiter made a point of telling us all about them as soon as we sat down. Individual petals made from silk you picked the wrong customer to impress with that story I'm afraid. A VEGAN!"

"This restaurant is a hidden gem. The service was excellent as we were attended to by the same gentleman throughout our meal. He was softly spoken and not intrusive, yet very attentive to our needs. He promptly refilled our drinks and offered us additional cutlery without us having to ask. The food exceeded our initial expectations, especially considering the reasonable prices of £8-15 for a main course."

"the best japaners in the opposite; tasty eating, cheap, great service they can not ask for much more. I went on a Sunday afternoon in the afternoon when it was quite quiet, and had a lot of straightened (all pictured). the service was fast and friendly, and offered advices to menu points. the sushi tasted fresh, the curry was unique and tasteful, and the bark was so good I would recommend it very much. for two people with a decent amount of sushi, two meals and a drink each (a tea, a beer,) it came to £40, not bad at all. overall, they try hibagon when they are in the opposite, it is good to travel."

"I went to have lunch today here and it was lovely and cosy! The food is always excellent and well served in such a neat pretty professional way. The staff team are all amazing with a humble welcoming sweet way to make you feel welcomed and want you to enjoy your visit with food drink and laughter! It's got a rustic look but smart and sleek at the same time so I always feel warm and cosy when dine and drink here. I was also here with my family the day before Christmas eve and we had an beautiful meal it was sooooo festive and cheerful it was very special. We all had a fantastic fun festive day! I do love popping up on my bike to the Prince bonaparte! Thanks to all the staff team you are the top team and a perfect place to wine and dine! I can't wait for my first steak night experience soon! "The food was good but……. Service was awful, ordered wine and it was basically dumped at the bottom of our table not even the top taken off ! Pizza was good also the burger, was a chore for the waitress to get us any sauces. When we had finished we were asked can I take your plates, No can I offer you a dessert, coffee nothing. After 20 mins we got up and had to ask for our bill at the main desk, again a chore for the member of staff to have to get our bill.what a shame as it could be a very high rating place to eat."

"oka is a chain of Japanese restaurants with deposits in london at the time of this review. I visited oka as my second choice when visiting the kingly court after a disappointing wait for shoryu. I had lucky that shoryu served me terrible because they served me one of the best shushi I've ever eaten. it was a weekend and the place was full, but being a solo dinner, I got table in no time. the server didn't suggest anything to me. Anyway, I ordered rendang chicken skewers as starter with rainbow roll and negroni for later. skewers were really delicious, although run the mill tasteful, but rainbow roll was star of the show. versatile, fresh and tasty with every bite, this is a plate I highly recommend. later I ordered hot cookie dough with matcha and espresso macchiato. dessert was also perfect and complements eating before it perfect. regarding the service, it was passable, but I expect more at soho. they served with efficiency, but the hospitality and energy was totally vanille. my neck was gbp, that is on par, what this soho calculated, its not cheap, but they know that they would pay a little steeper for the opposite, so that no problem for me as to me."

"Food is delicious. The sakura dishes and details are very nice. Staff is very, very friendly. Only reason for 4 satars is that they keep their office in a table inside the eating room and play some pop music all the time. Get rid of the music and the office table and it is better than the other famous japanese restaurant in Edinburgh. Food is the best. Delicious and well presented."

"Had been here a few times before and we always liked coming for lunch as it was a lovely vibe and food was delicious. Unfortunately we had a very unpleasant experience this time on my partners birthday, they didn’t have our table ready and then we got put in the forgotten corner and we had to go and ask twice for someone to take our order and then it took a while for the food to come and when it came they brought out the wrong items and the food was quite bland and small portions not worth the money."

"my man loves this place. they recommend it to everyone we meet. we always get a cordial greeting, the man gets a hand shake, the staff is very polite and can not do enough for them. eating is fantastic, eating michael star style when they ask me! it is such a beautiful, picturesque place within the newly renovated outdoor kitchen make it a desirable place in the summer months. if they are looking for cheap pub grub, this place is 't for them, but they will get great gastro style pub eating with a great atmosphere. highly recommended."

"hidden gem! determined to visit this after the visit of the did modern, and it was a nice place to go and eat at lunchtime. off the beaten track, but this place has a funny and quirky vibe. the sashimi was a highlight served on eis to taste it beautiful and fresh. the sweet potato corokke was inconspicuously tasty (it is always) and the salmon sushi plate was a fun choice that led them out of their comfort zone, including some of their bombs. the tee was also a funny little touch in this contraceptive, which sits above the cup and passes through the water. everything in everything, a fun experience with a bit new thrown into the game!"

"Have visited this restaurant many times and always been impressed with food, service etc. Our last visit seemed to be not up to their usual high standard possibly due to being very busy. Food was slow to arrive there was a long gap between different parts of our main and the drinks arrived after the starters. The wait staff were rushed off their feet but kept their composure and could not be faulted. They did knock 10% off the bill. If we visit again it won’t be on a Saturday."

"It was ok over all. The starters were superb, really good. The main courses were amazingly ordinary and disappointing. My steak was a medium rare fillet. It was accurately medium rare but strangely dry , almost as if it had been sitting under a heat lamp and it had very little flavour. I had a lemon meringue pie where meringue was wet and sloppy and the pastry was as if ready cooked from a supermarket. My companion had a slow cooked lamb shank which is usually an easy winner but again it was dry with a sauce which had been poured over it and then congealed. . A slow cooked lamb shank usually has the wonderful juices in which it has slowly come to fruition. The food came with minimal vegetables . Side dishes were ostentatiously expensive. As is the whole menu. We paid £180 for three people including the tip. Enough for a bargain weekend away somewhere. As a family we have dined in some amazing restaurants and understand the costs involved at times and pay willingly when the experience is special. But the whole way through this meal it was short of great. The waiters were friendly and attentive but far too eager to top up your wine glass. It became a nuisance and a pressure. Half a glass does not need topping up to the brim. To top things off for me I went to the ladies at 10.35 at the end of our meal . There is only one toilet for the whole restaurant. There was a cleaning person in the loo. spraying the most toxic and pungent fumes. Having entered this airless cubicle, two lungs full of Izal or what ever chemical obliterated all memory of the meal and the wine. At 10.35? The inference also being that I was not required on the premises any longer. The Maitr d' was charming and as friendly and helpful as he could be. 5 stars for him! The situation was lovely and we had a table by the window. However the experience did not in any measure add up to the lush advertisement online and was very very expensive at the price."
