"Booked this restaurant for my son's 21st . Had gone in a few days before to see the place notify them of dietary allergies. All was noted down . On the day we were seated as per my request in a booth . Took awhile for our drinks order to be taken. When ordering the appetizers I informed the waitress about the lactose shellfish allergies. Was told that they can't give guarantee that there will be no cross contamination. Which we understood. The waitress however failed to take the food order and only took the cocktails order. I then called another guy Massimo explained re the allergy . He was helpful took the order. Food was really good with regards to presentation taste. The reason for give only 3 stars is due to the service . For a restaurant of this level I would have expected more attentive service we had to ask for our wine glasses to be refilled twice. There was no shortage of staff from what I could see. Danilo was also helpful by getting us a table at the bar after we had payed the bill in the restaurant . If the service had been better I would def give this place 5 . Food , decor, atmosphere is amazing ."

"My friends and I came to this establishment to help revise for our upcoming exams. We were all paying customers and took up a table for 8 people with 7 of us sat at it. After 3 hours of us spending money on food and beverages there, with many free tables around us, we were asked to leave the premises, as we had only purchased “two drinks” which was entirely false and based off the fact he could only see 2 drinks on the table, as all our other beverages we had discarded ourselves, in order to cause less disruption and work for the employees. We had caused no disruption and were quietly working, and had spent at least £50 in the cafe. The free tables surrounding us made it clear nobody was being denied a table due to us taking up the correct amount of tables for our party. We won’t be coming to Pret again to study in the future. I would just like to clarify that it was only one particular member of staff that had a problem, the rest of the staff were lovely and served us our food and beverages with no problems."

"The restaurant had a nice atmosphere, the young waitresses were very sweet efficient. The drinks were fine although a little on the expensive side. The roast was nice except for the fact that the parsnip carrot were almost rock hard so difficult to cut. This was the same the last time I had a roast. Wheelchair accessibility: When we were leaving a lady came in with a wheelchair the doors looked nice wide. Price per person: £40–50 Food: 3 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4 Recommended dishes: Trio Sunday Roast Beef Pork Chicken"

"After 10 year absence from the restaurant due to shoddy service historically ,we booked to attend the Minnow on mothers day at 5pm. Realising they would be busy, we turned up at 10 to 5. We were told our table was occupied and the people there were paying the bill. 30 minutes later and despite requests for another table, the staff had still not freed up the table and we were forced to leave as our children were absolutely starving with no food in sight. If you allow a booking please allow adequate time so families with young children like us are treated correctly. No apology, no courtesy and definitely no return from us."

"Came here about a month ago looking for a coffee and something at about 2pm on a Saturday afternoon. It looks very twee from the outside and the cakes do look so scrumptious. The waitress was very French and had limited English the guy in the kitchen assisted. We needed gluten free and fortunately they did a very nice chocolate orange muffin. But that was possibly the only thing I could have eaten apart from a Salad unfortunately. Coffee and tea ok ,nice large cups but not very hot contents. It's nice and bright inside and you are not squashed in at all. Some quirky wallpaper and obje'dart. Wasn't majorly expensive , £8 for 2 drinks and 2 cakes . Parking near might be a problem for most people. Small car park opposite. Good for taking a break from shopping in Roman Road. Just slightly lacking in atmosphere."

"zelt for a spontaneous Sunday meal after a walk around the many canal monks with the dog (dog friendly pub inside and outside around the back. also has a separate dining area only for people). the food was perfect, very tasty and fresh. this is not their average pub food, this is high quality at a very reasonable average price. has to make from the cook and before the housemanship for my short stop welcoming and pleasant. come back! highly recommended!"

"Our visit was quite disappointing. My dish was billed as a "dee pizza," but it turned out to be a tasteless, chewy base topped with sweet salad, an excessive amount of hoisin sauce, and a tiny amount of duck. There was no cheese or tomato! Overall, the dish was unappetizing and not fit to eat. My wife ordered halloumi, but hers was also nearly flavorless. Our guest had a duck salad and said she was satisfied with it. For dessert, we ordered tiramisu, which was again bland. While the ambiance of the restaurant was pleasant and the service was excellent, I was not charged for my inedible pizza, most of which I couldn't eat. I admit I made a poor choice, but in a reputable restaurant, there shouldn't be subpar dishes on the menu; everything should be of high quality. All in all, we had a very unsatisfactory experience and don't feel inclined to return."

"Great location, lovely decor and food has really improved since I was last there. Excellent service and when i didn't like the wine, it was no trouble to have it replaced. We will be back! Was also impressed that they asked about allergies my daughter is coeliac so we have to be careful. Well done!"

"We were kept waiting for about 15 minutes upon arrival, despite making a reservation many days prior. This was whilst others were being shown to a table promptly even as walk ins. When finally seated, the server had no idea what drinks were available. It took almost an hour for our starters to arrive and they had been to three other tables before they came to ours. All the staff seemed to have no idea where any of the food was supposed to go. Parts of our food were missing when it finally arrived. The bill eventually came with the missing items still included, and when we asked for it to be amended, it took another 15 minutes. Mercifully they didn't include the service charge. Food itself was acceptable but conversation was impossible due to the loud music. Ok as a bar but not the place to go for a meal and a conversation."

"Food: I ordered the fish and chips. The fish was nice and crispy but nothing special. The chips were similarly good but average. Service: The service here was abysmal. I have never been treated so rudely in my life. The place was nearly empty when I went for dinner. Despite that a young male server looked around the empty room, looked at me and then sat me in a hidden corner at a tiny table that was clearly not meant to be for customers. After about half an hour I eventually got up and asked a bartender if I could put an order in. She was confused because she had no idea I was there. She confronted the jerk that put me at that table for not telling her that he sat a customer, and for purposely putting me at a bad table for no reason. He started laughing and gloating that he could get away with what ever he wanted and that he didn't care about her feelings or his job at all before he walked away. She felt bad but still didn't do anything to improve the situation. I wonder if he is related to the owner because he clearly didn't want to work, or even be a good person. After all of this happened the service was still practically non existent and I still payed the full tab even though I was treated horribly. I will never go back here. Ambience: The pictures online look great but the reality looks run down and on the verge of a mold outbreak."

"A hugely disappointing experience! Having visited its sister restaurant in the same village 5 days earlier, where the food and service was of a high standard, the BGI presented as a poor relation in every aspect of the meal. Staff appeared harassed and subsequently unprofessional. The food was at best average, though elements of some plates were unappealing in presentation and barely edible. I would suggest that all of the above could be avoided by better staff training and on-floor supervision. I reiterate, hugely disappointing!"

"Often eat at this pub and food is generally of a very good standard. Perhaps it was because it was a bank holiday Monday but the menu was disappointing and the lamb koftas were not nice. Very cheap and rubbery with sloppy chopped up salad. Also the service wasn’t up to its usual standard, hope it’s just a blip. Also my friend was sent a two for one cocktail email but to get them had to go on to another site and ask endless questions and they then didn’t send the code. Manager was understanding as he could see it wasn’t our fault and gave us the offer anyway our thanks to him for that."
