"Well I’m not one to slander a business but after reading a great Wright up in a magazine and reading many online reviews thought we’d give it a try. We are on the 1st floor, to begin the service from the waiter was shambolic we arrived early and were seated promptly began to order some water and a bottle of wine which for some reason took our waiter an unbelievable amount of time and after two prompts still no water. Eventually got our drinks and so began wait on food. Working in the industry I know bad nights happen etc but 40 minutes waiting for food with no check back or any acknowledgement of a wait time suggested. So after 46 min we get our food no apology or any explanation from the server. So we ordered the fish platter at £50 sounded like a great choice most of it was cooked well scallops and mussels beautifully cooked as for the rest soggy calamari as was dipped into the juices from the mussels. The rest was poor over cooked fish and old prawns mushy and still wth the roe as no mention of that they were served as such on menu. So we mention this to our sever he the. shrugs and walks away in working in hospitality for over 15 years I’ve never seen anything like it. On attracting the server that appeared to be managing the shift we explanined the problems and to be told sorry we have been busy and offered more mussels to compensate but by that point we have been waking 15 min to speak to someone and wanted to get out of there as it literally wasted our evening. I was quite frankly frustrated and didn’t want to cause a scene so we went to the bar to settle up and raise my issues the waitress in charge loosely apologised and began to offer to remove the service charge which was optional anyhow. Overall I was shocked at the lack of complaint handling or even communication I would have been happy with an apology and removal of the prawns but it was made an issue by rudeness and lack of service. Shame as it’s a nice venue"
