"When it came to our wine, it was simply placed on the table with two glasses, and the manager left without offering to pour, taste, or even confirm that it was the wine we had selected. After our starters, we were given the option to move to a higher table, but it was still surrounded by soft seating, and we found ourselves needing additional cushions from a nearby sofa, yet still ended up dining at almost knee level.
The food was good overall, although serving fish and chips in a wire basket wasn’t the most practical choice. The small pot of wine sauce was only one-third full, which felt a bit stingy. That said, the seafood chowder was delicious, and the Thai curry was also quite tasty. Unfortunately, no one checked back with us after serving our meals to see if we were satisfied, and we were only approached once we finished eating to see if we wanted anything else."
