"We normally use a different Chinese takeaway, however as it was closed for the Chinese New Year we decided to try Little Canton again. Never again. The food was tasteless and couldn’t tell the difference between black bean sauce, curry and the chow mien. Even the egg fried rice was appalling. I’m not entirely sure that the ‘chicken’ in the chicken and black bean dish was actually chicken. Chewy is an understatement. The only edible thing was the crispy seaweed. It gets one star only because I couldn’t give it zero. Complete waste of money, and ended up making a cheese and ham sandwich for dinner. Don’t waste your money."

"We went for afternoon tea on Christmas Eve and were very disappointed. The meal consisted of processed ham, processed cheese slices, puree, and egg mayonnaise. We were only offered a selection of frozen cakes, and had to ask for tea, which was not offered. The tea selection was also lacking. The atmosphere was not pleasant, with open crackers on the window bar and a pipe with a large hole in the curtain from previous guests. The carpet under our table was covered in debris from a previous party. We paid £15 per person for a meal that we could have bought for £3 from a supermarket. We have been meeting this family for seven years but will not be returning after this experience. The staff was unfriendly and the excuses from management were unacceptable. I will be reaching out personally via email to express my dissatisfaction. This was a major disappointment and we will not be recommending this restaurant."

"What can I say? Being a local in Balham for 14 years now, I've seen restaurants come and go. Although The Cattle Grid started off ok and was very reasonably priced, I was totally shock to Se the price of the Ribs go up from £14.95 one month to £15.95 this month. These started off at £11.95 18 months ago. Being in the trade and knowing how much there are at cost, it discusts me on how much TCG are charging. And on top of that, they're only edible from Thursday-Saturday. Maybe TCG should seriously think about this issue and rectify it! "I read reviews here complaining of orders not arriving or being cold, but decided to take a chance anyway assuming it was just a one-off issue. Unfortunately, 2.5 hours after placing my order, my food still hadn't arrived. I received a notification that it was on its way, but it never showed up. They didn't even bother to let me know so I could order from somewhere else before closing time, despite having my phone number. I tried calling them multiple times, but they wouldn't pick up. Even the third-party food delivery app I used couldn't get through to them. If you plan to dine in at the restaurant, this review may not apply to you. However, I wouldn't recommend ordering online from them at all. There's a high chance your order won't be delivered or will be cold by the time it finally arrives. It's impossible to reach them by phone and their customer service is severely lacking. In all my years of ordering from restaurants, this is the first time I've experienced such poor service."

"Despite the best efforts of the staff at both the bar and at the table, the manager made this my single worst experience at any restaurant not just in Rochester, nor Kent nor the rest of the UK, in fact the only time I have had treatment that neared this was in a back street restaurant in the Costa Brava where the manager detested the English! Where do we begin? On arrival the manager asked us quite reasonably to wait a couple of minutes whilst tables were prepared, so we purchased some drinks and 10 mins later were escorted to our table, not in the main part of the restaurant but in the bar area. Unusually for an establishment that served food and despite laying the table for the correct number of people, the only menus on the table were for drinks we had to find menus ourselves and ended up with the bar staff finding some for us. Eventually, probably as an afterthought the manager came over and took our orders. For a restaurant that advertises Burgers, Steaks and Ribs as it 's headline items to be told they had no Burgers (well he actually said meat) at lunchtime seemed somewhat odd and the attitude shown was awful perhaps attending a table immediately after having a loud argument over a mobile phone in the middle of the bar was not his brightest move. The starters arrived 15 20 minutes later which was bearable. However, after finishing the starters the wait for main courses was ridiculous it took 20 minutes to clear the table after the starters and then we waited.... and waited... and waited. After another half hour waiting and without sight of any staff we managed to catch the attention of someone and asked what had happened to the main courses it then took a further 20 minutes for the food to arrive They must have run out of potatos as well, as ALL the meals arrived with sweet potato fries. Believe it or not a restaurant is a SERVICE provider and to head the business paying absolutely no attention to customers is no service whatsoever. To add insult to injury when my daughter complained about the service she was greeted with an aggressive response by the manager saying What did you expect? It is the same wherever you go as it 's festival weekend Well, for his education, I must state that there were only two other tables of clients that arrived in the time we were there (one table actually left after waiting half an hour to be attended) Furthermore, we have been attending the festival for more years than I can remember and despite often having some delays in service, NONE have ever come near to this for completely ignoring customers, being unprepared and treating people like an inconvenience rather than clients. Okay so £150.00 may not be much in the overall scheme of things but for our part there won 't be a penny more spent in this establishment by any of us and if anyone reading this has any sense I suggest they do the same. To the bar staff and young man that eventually came round and did his best to resolve our problems thank you, your efforts were appreciated, unlike those of the person who really should have been setting an example."

"At first time ordered with them at the end of October, as they were new on Just Eat site. They gave me an hour delivery time, so I took my time and had a shower. Then noticed that driver tried to call me, because food has received 35 minutes earlier than expected. Usually I like earlier delivery, but not that much. The prawn crackers for £1.75 I got 8 pieces of prawn crackers, I'm not joking, I took so many pictures to prove it, 8 pieces in a very posh paper bag... Otherwise food is very tasty, good condition and I do appreciate the carton round boxes, which are Eco friendly (except the lid which is plastic... Also the paper carrier bag is a very good idea and I really like the thoughts that they seem environment conscious. But the prawn crackers... I am still shocked. For £1.80 or £2 other Chinese takeaways gives a full big bag of prawn crackers, but not 8 pieces!!! Also I would have like to receive a restaurant menu, which normally used to be given in the takeaway bag, but unfortunately they missed it. Hopefully another time, because I still plan to order from them without crackers..."
