"I went to the Duke of Sussex pub. We were a group of 8 that easily fit on to a long table that had two other guests on already. This table could have easily fit 14 people. The staff were difficult borderline rude about this despite the fact that the people on the table were more than happy for us to join their table. From then on the staff seemed to have a vendetta against are table. No one optimised this more than the woman running the pub quiz. She made multiple comments about us sitting at the table for no reason. During the evening we were not taking part in the pub quiz and instead we were just talking amongst ourselves. Again the woman running the pub quiz felt the need to come over and comment on our table but this time about us being too loud claiming other people had complained. We were speaking at a normal level for pub. This claim seemed unlikely due to the fact the people who would have been most affected if we had been noisy had no problem with us at all. In summary, I would avoid this pub when the pub quiz is on due to their draconian anti fun policy. The woman who runs the pub quiz is horrible."

"Didn’t bring out part of the order, but charged for it. The waitress said she’d try to get this refunded, but instead of returning to the table to update us after going out to the back, took other people’s orders instead. Food was nice, but nothing that special. Jazz band were excellent."

"an absolutely excellent inside, maybe the best I ever had. the food was nicely cooked and tasty as we sat against the open fire with a pint of the right ale. the rooms are amazing, extremely spacious and yet at home and with beautiful wooden beams and roller shutters for the quirky windows. the staff was all very friendly and wonderful, they can not judge high enough. I could live there. oh, and the bed was soft and comfortable and made a great night beside the blessed quiet and rural darkness to sleep outside."

"My family and I met for a celebratory supper and weren’t disappointed. The food is excellent and the menu varied but not too extensive. We all said it was hard to choose from such an interesting and varied menu. The staff are friendly and helpful and the new outdoor seating allows views over the adjoining fields. It isn’t heated but we were offered blankets and were very cosy. Excellent value for money and thoroughbred recommended."
