"I ordered a turkey gobbler sub and was surprised to find it made with smoked turkey and without jellied cranberry sauce. Unfortunately, the sub was quite disappointing and very salty. My friend paid for it, so I didn't voice my concerns at the time, but the shop really needs to improve their sub-making skills. I used to run a deli, and our turkey gobblers were definitely worth reordering, unlike this one."

"I also really love this store! The vibrant fabrics immediately caught my attention and reminded me of a skirt my sister brought back from Africa."

"Food was average but overpriced coffee cold. Staff grumpy and unsmiling. I overheard them complaining to each other when an elderly gentleman came in. He was clearly a regular who liked a particular seat. When he tried to move seats he was told , by a member of staff , in no uncertain terms , to stay where he was, as the table needed cleaned and she said she wasn’t sure if the other customers had left yet they clearly had). Once the table was cleared she didn’t go and tell him he could move. Sad to see an elderly person being treated like this."

"The restaurant has nice tables and it was good you could see pictures of the dishes on their menu so you knew what you were getting as a lot of the things were new to us. We ordered quite a few things including the za'atar vegetable wrap, fava beans with sour sauce, manakish muhammara (red pepper paste pizza) and a spinach fatayer (pie) as it was all so cheap we thought we would need to order more. We simply could not finish it all! It was such great value and everything was so delicious. I would recommend to anyone in the area and the staff were friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. There is so much choice at really great prices. The only thing which I would have liked is there to be wooden or biodegradable cutlery, not plastic. We were also given plastic cups for water so any other material would have improved the experience as I felt guilty for using single use plastic."

"Interestingly eclectic space which combines a small Neighborhood market, butcher shop, a wine store, and a deli with an extensive hot food bar fullOf yummy southern comfort foods, delicious broad spectrum of made to order sandwiches including a Cuban and Banh Mi. They also have a friendly, helpful staff. We had Banh Mi (not exactly like I have had before, but very tasty) served with some yummy chips and we topped it off with a slice of Italian cake which was a genuine slice of heaven. There are plenty of tables available and real cutlery so you don’t have to fumble w/plastic junk. Worth the quick trip From downtown."

"Not very busy on a Saturday eve, we were squashed in a table right in the corner. We had to get staff’s attention every single time, to order food, to order drinks, to pay. Meanwhile there were at least 2-3 members of young staff at the bar, doing not a lot. It’s a shame because we were greeted by a very friendly and gent, but by 3:15pm they’d disappeared and the younger team members were not very attentive I’m afraid. The mash with the lamb was actually lumpy, very disappointing. The macaroni cheese was, unfortunately, really rather tasteless. The only saving grace is the decor and location, but we will not be attending again."

"When we visited the restaurant, it was not very busy so it's likely the kitchen wasn't too overwhelmed. Unfortunately, we were not impressed with the food. The haggis bonbons starter was lukewarm and the Caesar salad lacked flavor, except for the smoked chicken. The steak was enjoyable, but the gnocchi was tough and chewy, clearly not homemade (although it wasn't advertised as such). We ended up leaving most of it uneaten. The staff, however, were fantastic and very friendly."

"I ordered jollof rice which cost £6 and Efo riro with beef which cost £10 I ordered without pounded yam, as I wanted to make mine myself). I ordered a take away. I placed my order at 17:25 and it arrived at 19:58. Thankfully their website does state that the order takes 115minutes to come. Although mine took two and half hours, I hungrily and patiently waited for my food to arrive. I did not bother to call and ask where my food was as I was too hungry. I had also read reviews whereby someone stated that food can take longer than 2hrs to arrive. Therefore, I would say be wary of that when ordering a takeaway. My house is 3.6miles from the restaurant, maybe that's why my order took 2 and half hours to arrive. Apart from the timing issue, you can't fault the food. It tastes good.Portions are reasonable, it's home made authentic Nigerian food. I love the jollof portion and price. Next time I would not bother ordering a takeaway, I would go into the restaurant and dine there instead. Good luck with your business."

"Dirty restaurant and rude staff. I was spoken to by a blonde girl who seemed to be a supervisor- she was obnoxious and rude in tone. She was also seen to be bullying other members of staff through a rude tone and demanding and degrading comments. The food was poor with only two veg options and burnt roast potatoes. Felt incredibly rushed through the whole meal and overheard staff talking about how they needed to get us out fast- blonde girl kept saying she wanted to go home so get the customers out fast. Restaurant was dirty with sticky tables and grim carpet. Not a nice experience and this particular waitress/host lady was horrible in tone. Never coming back. Staff in general seemed to be lazy and very young- one girl however was fantastic- brown hair and glasses so a credit to the team very attentive! But apart from her had a bad time."

"We visited this smokehouse due to the reviews whilst in the area on holiday, and were not disappointed! There are only 4 tables, so we booked via their Facebook page, and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. We had the biggest platter on the menu so we could sample as much as possible, and everything was absolutely gorgeous. We felt it was excellent value for money and really good quality. The platter was huge so we couldn’t finish it all, but they gave us boxes to bring the rest home and it’s all finished now. Special little family run place that is definitely worth a visit. It’s quirky, different, independent and fantastic quality. We managed to park right outside too."
