The King Charles - Menu

Last night, a group of 10 of us dined at this restaurant. We preordered from The Christmas Menu and enjoyed delicious food served by efficient and friendly staff. It was a lovely evening, thank you very much.

We absolutely loved having our event here! Dawn and the team were attentive and took great care of our large group (40+ . The weather was good, so they hosted us outside but they had a good backup plan if the weather had turned. I would strongly recommend the King Charles for hosting your event.

The most delicious beer battered cod ever… wow… u fortunately I had to share it with my wife as her mum is cooking a little later on.. Very nice pub and even nicer staff Bruce and our server were A* a great example of top notch hospitality and service. We were viewing a property in the area even if we don’t move to the area we will definitely stop by again…

"On Thursday, February 22nd, 35 members of our local club gathered for our annual dinner at the King Charles. We were seated at 5 tables and the food was served to each table in a timely manner. Everyone in attendance had nothing but praise for the excellent starters, mains, and desserts. The service was impeccable, especially considering the frequent table changes throughout the courses."

After a busy weekend myself, my partner and I decided to pop to our favourite local pub for some lunch, a couple of drinks and some much needed catch-up time together. The food was great, well presented and we were looked after well. Thankyou King Charles. I try to avoid pubs on my day off, but it’s always a pleasure for a tired landlord wanting sone time out. We had a promising start when we first arrived at the restaurant, as we were immediately asked if we would like a drink. However, the delivery of our food was quite slow. The food itself was good, but the service started to decline afterwards. Our plates were not cleared away until we asked, and we did not see any waitresses around. The bartender ended up taking our dessert orders, and then a waitress came over to inform us that some options were not available. Overall, we were not impressed with the service as the staff seemed disinterested.

As I have an allergy to potato skins I asked if the kitchen had any other chips as the chips have skins on. I was told that that’s the only chips they do. I find it hard to believe that they do not cater for people with this allergy. I’m sure I’m not the only person who has asked this. I was offered extra salad.I went for mashed potatoes which they also could not guarantee that this had potato skins in it. I would like to see at least two choices of chips on the menu. The mash did not compliment the chicken burger. Please offer an alternative.

We love this pub, and since certain changes in the village it is even more important to hold on to what is essentially a tradition village pub. The staff are friendly and helpful. The food is good old fashioned pub food that is well cooked, well presented and sensibly priced. The nachos are to die for and half priced Steak night is a game changer. A great selection of beers, wines and spirits a reasonable prices. The gardens are well designed and separated for comfort. There is a kids area at the side with tables and play equipment. Then there is a garden to the front with covered areas, a patio, fire pit and a pizza oven. If I had one gripe it would be the opening hours can be a bit hit or...

We went for dinner this evening and sat on benches to the back and side of the pub. Whilst we cannot complain about the food, which was really very good, the whole experience was ruined by a group of young children playing with a leather football in the area in which we and many other people were eating. There is an abundance of play equipment for children in this area, which our own children were enjoying, however there were at least eight boys playing football literally around the tables at which people were dining.
