"Offering 5 or so different lunch menus, the options were endless but we settled for the 3 course lunch menu at £38.50. We started with warm country loaf served alongside two types of butter: yeasty malt and herb, followed by amuse bouche of pork croquettes and sweet beetroot meringues with goats curd filling. This was followed by our entrees, which we shared scorched mackerel with smoked creme fraiche, pickled onions, arrow grass and caviar (my favorite! ; chicken terrine with peaches and wild herbs; and burrata and tomatoes with pickled nectarine sorbet and black olive crumb, that came with a tomato essence drizzle. We picked the same main, which is the 48 hour beef with marrow and onion jam, carrot purée and elderberries. We were stuffed by the end of our mains. For desserts, we had the strawberry and thyme ‘tart’, peach Melba of sorts and chocolate with hazelnut. We enjoyed every single dish and could’ve skipped dinner considering how full we were at the end of our meal!"
