"Rude and Abrupt Staff. A friend and I had dinner at the Battersea restaurant and the staff there kept trying to rush us along so the service was very abrupt and unfriendly. During our meal, we were asked to leave twice because they needed the table and both times we let them know that we wanted to finsh our wine. Afterall, we'd only been there just over an hour. Then, the female Manager came up to our table and shouted at us to go. I've never had more insulting customer service! Needless to say that I won't be returning, even if the food is good. If they're that desperate to make money, they should simply increase the prices. Nonetheless, I'll be dining in the other Vietnamese restaurants...read more"

"My friend and I decided to meet up for some Vietnamese food at a restaurant called Caphe. We were able to quickly make a reservation for 7.30pm on a Saturday, and when we arrived, we were surprised to find that the restaurant was nearly empty. The service was basic, and the young waiter seemed a bit tactless when I mentioned my severe prawn allergy. Despite this, the portions were good value for money, although the broth in my PHO was too salty. We had to remind the staff twice to refill our tea pot and water. Unfortunately, the salad we ordered still came out with prawn crackers on top, which was concerning given my allergy. Overall, our experience at Caphe was average, and we're not sure if the lack of customers was due to the service or other factors."

"Ordered a takeaway from Wei Dao for 4 Singapore Noodles and a Beef in BB Sauce. Great food noodles had that oomph taste and was quite crisp. I would happily recommend Wei Dao to anyone looking for a tasty, less greasy, bang for the buck, healthy Chinese takeaway. The guys running the place was swell as well. My wife was allergic to prawns and the Singapore Noodles did have them. The note I placed with the online order to avoid adding them to one of the noodles was unfortunately overlooked, perhaps being a busy Saturday evening. I called them to complain once I reached home. The person who picked up was so graceful, that he kindly suggested to provide me with another one without prawns and even threw in a few Spring Rolls as a good will gesture. When I offered to return the original one, he insisted to keep it for the family on the house. Was quite amazed with their response, and when I reached to collect the food, they apologized unreservedly. A fine experience altogether. Thomas"

"We visited Koto Restaurant on North Parade for Sunday lunch for the first time, and we wish we had tried it sooner. The ramen broth was incredibly delicious, with a gentleman next to us remarking that it tasted just like what he had in Japan. The menu was straightforward and easy to order from, with both the broth and noodles being homemade and preservative-free. The food was healthy, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The only downside was that they do not take reservations, so there may be a wait. Overall, I would rate the food at Koto Restaurant as some of the best in Oxford."

"What a great finding! This may not be the best sushi you have ever had, but if you are in the mood for sushi, and you want to have something better than the usual fast-sushi' chains, without paying a lot more, this may be your place. Another thing worth mentioning is that they have temaki (the seaweed and rice cone with fish inside), which is not usual, and they looked really good. The sushi was done at the moment of the order, in front of me, and it was super fresh and light in the stomach. I would recommend trying the ones with fresh wasabi, as it's something I love and that you won't find everywhere!"

"This is a great Thai restaurant, and although the menu is pretty traditional, the flavour is excellent and portions fairly large, on that basis alone I’d definitely recommend a visit as one of the better Thai restaurants I’ve been to in London. Other reviewers have complained about the overly attentive waiting staff, and it’s fair to say you do see a lot of them, including clearing plates throughout the meal which is a little odd. So I’d avoid this place if you want to have a deep conversation, but for casual dining it’s not the end of the world and in fairness the staff are incredibly friendly. One other weird feature of this restaurant is that they bring starters and mains at the same time. While they do explain this when you order, it seems like a kitchen geared up for takeaway which can’t be bothered adapting to phased table service. To be clear, it’s understandable in small plates (e.g. tapas) restaurants to receive each dish as it comes, but this is not that you will literally get two plates of spring rolls/dim sum alongside two large bowls of Pad Thai. The waitress also warns you in their introduction that you should give them 10 15 minutes warning before you need the bill (it didn’t take that long in reality). This again gives a bit of an impression that the service is set up for the convenience of the staff rather than the customers. There appeared to be plenty of front of house staff and the restaurant is quite small, so I’m not sure why all these accommodations from customers are needed. I stress this point because this really is a great restaurant, that has just made some annoying choices with how they serve their excellent food. It’s still a four star place, with potential."

"overpriced and overrated. the order was notified that it would take 15 20 minutes. it finally arrived an hour later (and called three times to ask where it was). miso suppe was cold, thunfisch tataki had been tipped and crushed. the restaurant called to complain and they could not take care of themselves any less. that this is a considerably lower quality and more expensive than feng sushi, located around the corner (not to mention a venerable customer service)."

"Zer Cafe serves fresh, delicious food with lots of thoughtful options for vegetarians. Their breakfasts are huge, and range from traditional Turkish (delicious olives, jam, bread, cucumber, tomato and probably other things that I cannot remember) to vegetarian (try the one with grilled halloumi and gently cooked spinach on toast) and traditional English. They also do freshly squeezed juices. One of their breakfasts will probably keep you going until the evening. The portions at lunch and dinner are also generous. At lunch, you can opt for Turkish or Mediterranean food, or soup or sandwiches. For dinner, you may want to consider sharing a few plates, or go when you are really famished. We had several meals there (we discovered it on our own and then friends suggested meeting there), and everything we had was carefully prepared and tasty. And don't miss their extremely fresh baklava. The staff and owners are very kind, and great with children; the waiter brought a picture-book out for a two-year-old who was with us, and then gave her a small dish of ice cream.Zer Cafe is a great place to spend a relaxing evening, enjoying good food and wine, or you can start the day with one of their enormous breakfasts."

"The Chinese food at this restaurant is excellent! It's located in a rather peculiar location - in a dark alley near a soon-to-close Italian restaurant. It may be hard to find, but it's definitely worth it."
