"We visited Koto Restaurant on North Parade for Sunday lunch for the first time, and we wish we had tried it sooner. The ramen broth was incredibly delicious, with a gentleman next to us remarking that it tasted just like what he had in Japan. The menu was straightforward and easy to order from, with both the broth and noodles being homemade and preservative-free. The food was healthy, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The only downside was that they do not take reservations, so there may be a wait. Overall, I would rate the food at Koto Restaurant as some of the best in Oxford."

The shio ramen at this restaurant is absolutely delicious. It tastes just like authentic ramen from Japan. The restaurant proudly makes their own noodles, setting them apart from other ramen places in London.

The restaurant is very pricey, with very small portions of food that lacked any special taste. I had to wait for a long time to pick up my takeout order and in the end, they didn't even have all the items I ordered because they ran out of rice.

This Japanese restaurant just opened on North Parade. We didn't know what to expect, but this place was great!! My boyfriend and I both had the paitan ramen which was pretty much amazing; the menu said that they make their noodles in house. The restaurant itself was sunny, clean, and welcoming. We will definitely be back and look forward to trying their other dishes. View menu

Koto's ramen is outstanding nothing like the typical, flavourless soup one gets in UK chains. The shoyu at Koto has a rich, slow-brewed stock, creamy soft boiled egg, tender chashu pork, pickled ginger, and a strip of nori, thoughtfully arranged as you'd get in Tokyo. The room has a spare elegance with plenty of light from huge windows, a wood bar, stylish lamps and a friendly staff. The menu is limited now but in November will expand with the arrival of their Japanese chef. No need to wait until then, though, the lunch is already great!

"I've been going to Oxford for 3 years now and in that time to be frank struggled to find a decent go to restaurant. I can now say with delight i've found my destination. I present SPICED ROOTS a little caribbean culinary gem. The fresh perfectly cooked food is absolutely delicious and gives off that home cooked by mummy vibe and is beautifully presented. The chilli and garlic prawns had my eyes closed Mark Weins style (if you know you know) so juicy with an incredible depth of flavour, the Trini doubles not only were seasoned to perfection they left you wanting more and the Jerk chicken spring rolls were an absolute triumph. For mains we had the ackee and callaloo Jerk Tempah (vegetarian) and the Jerk chicken. Both came with rice peas, plaintain and salad. Not only were the portions huge the flavours of both dishes were just mind blowingly delicious. Then we embarked on dessert and had the beautiful spiced rum cake and a selection of 3 home made ice creams namely Coconut, Guinness and the old Caribbean favourite Rum and Raisin, all recommended by the owner. It's at this point I feel compelled to speak about the rum raisin ice cream. I've eaten this ice cream on numerous occasions at numerous locations in Jamaica over my many years and I tell you no word of a lie this was hands down the best rum and raisin ice cream I've ever tasted, it literally left us speechless. So to summarise, this place has great food, great music, great service and a wonderfully charming owner who's totally invested in serving great, incredibly tasty, authentic Caribbean food clearly prepared with love. What more could you ask for. Fair to say it was meant to be. Uncle Jay."
