"Food was delicious, service was not. Got my order wrong and didn’t notice until after (ordered rump was given ribeye, £7 price difference I think, although I should have checked the bill before paying) had to go up to the bar to order drinks, once I was there I had to wait for the barman to finish stacking and cleaning cups before he would serve me, cups clearly had priority! Also ended up ordering pudding at the bar, 3 people behind bar, I then had to wait and once someone spoke to me they told me to go and speak to one of the other 2 serving. Also saw bar manager and person working behind the bar have an argument, not very professional and should happen behind closed doors. Other than that I had a lovely meal but was let down by the service, also would have chosen not to tip as I feel that the £14 (and extra £7 for the steak I didn’t order) were robbed from me, but I’m not the person to make a fuss over £14. Again lovely food lovely pub, questionable staff who need to re-evaluate the importance of the customer! (The same bar manager who argued was also very nice and very friendly, great with his whiskey but let himself down by arguing in front of customers)"

"Made plans to come here for lunch after a morning visit to Camera Obscura which is just a little way up the mile. Been here before years ago loved it…love it still! Great ambience, fantastic service and amazing food all hot, fresh and tasty. Large portions too! I can definitely recommend the haggis bites they’re delicious. Shout out to our sever Sophie who was lovely; welcoming, friendly efficient. Love this place will return."

"I made a reservation for 4 tonight without realizing we actually needed 6 seats. The staff was so accommodating kind about it. I wanted to say thank you to the servers on tonight (specifically the girl with the hufflepuff tattoo) because I know it can be really frustrating when a mistake like this happens! she was incredibly welcoming and made it work for us. The food was also delicious the atmosphere was friendly homey! Thank you times a million for a great night the best servers !!"

"my friend and I went to capitulate for dinner to celebrate his birthday, as was capitula, we thought the only decent restaurant in blackheath. all the others seem to be pushing down quickly. we have been in the past often in the capitulas, and the food and services were good we had no appetizers and ordered only one main meal (black foam and black bell), because we were not huge hungry because we were eating a lot of birthday cakes earlier! we had a glass of wine and were offered a piece of bread. 35 minutes later we waited for our food. in this time no one came to ask if we were in order or offer us more drinks. I asked the manager if our food was ready. he said it would be 5 minutes without a statement of delay then disappeared 10 minutes later there was no sign of food or manager. That is why we decided to go because we lost interest in eating. we have to go and the manager came by. he told us the delay was due to a big party in the ground floor. this was not the case, there was a group of 8 people who had finished their meal for a long time. we were there earlier when it was much more business and the service was not so bad. while we waited, we saw a customer who had finished their meal, slipped £20 into the manager hand when he left. Perhaps the workers need bribe to provide good services? it is such a scandal, but another blackheath restaurant has become complicit and believes that it with the treatment of its customers without respect. I will vote for one with my feet and will not eat again in this restaurant. I will also leave everyone I don't know to go there"

"There are so many places to eat in this area but we settled on Handmade Burger. We went at a slightly odd time somewhere between lunch and dinner so it was quiet. Staff were nice and friendly and explained about the ordering process. With the food and drinks ordered we waited an ok length of time. The food arrived and on the whole it was ok. Some disappointment over the handful chips though which were not hot a d were somewhat soggy but they were not a number of nice long chips but we're lots if small bits of chips. The rest of the food and drinks were fine. Prices for 3 about average but next time we will likely look around before we go again."

"Went for a Sunday roast was extremely disappointed. The food cost us £44 and the beef had massive amounts of fat and a chewy, rubbery texture. The gravy had a strong vinegar taste and ruined the entire meal. Bar staff member didn’t know what time they closed, and overall was extremely underwhelming. The manager hasn’t even tried the food himself which I thought was concerning considering this is a large selling point for the business. Overall I wouldn’t recommend this place as the food is very overpriced and ruined my girlfriends bday evening meal. I was offered half the price for the bill back and not a full refund for our meal. Subsequently we went elsewhere and will not be in any hurry to return here for food."

"Booked for valentines day. They could not find my reservation but we got seated anyway. It took a while before anyone came around to take the order. There were shells in my crab salad. The waiters did not pay attention as to when wine needs to be refilled. One of them nearly took the plate away from us without asking if we were finished. 2 mins after the second course was served someone came around and asked if we were finished with it despite the fact the plate was nearly untouched. Food was food overall but service needs to be improved. Definitely."

"Surprisingly quiet for a late lunch on Saturday so quiet in fact that the cocktails we had been recommended by the restaurant that we make time to sample were not available because the cocktail barperson was offduty. Once we had passed that disappointment, the rest of the afternoon was very pleasant, aided by excellent service and food that was wellexecuted barring a few bits of shell in the crab salad and a somewhat less than melting portion of belly pork. A very handy venue for the Wigmore Hall, and for Oxford St shoppers looking to escape the retail fray. I'd happily return to this place to see how it's evolving and I still want to sample the cocktail menu"

"visited with a group of 18 to the breakfast. the staff was very accommodating to put all of us together at a place, even bringing an additional table when the number of what was expected increased. I had a big frit that filled my plate. coffee and teapots were regularly refreshed without it having to be demanded. the breakfast lasted a few hours, which is normal for our group. the coffee was good as the frit. beautiful clean cozy furnishings. they give me how if they found it helpful."

"We booked Planet Hollywood 4 weeks in advance and were really looking forward to it as we had been before and we loved the atmosphereWhen we got there we were shown to one of two tables situated under the stairs so the only view we had was people walking up and down the stairs. There was just no atmosphere it was as though we were in the restaurant on our own. "This was on a Sunday and there is a very wide sea based menu in terms of crab, prawn, scampi, and lobster sadly there was no sea fish today as far as we could find (the fish of the day was salmon). There were standard ‘Sunday lunches if that is your bag! We had the kipper pâté (which was excellent and generous) with what was described as artisanal bread this divided the 2 diners it was brown with grains but was very light and airy The chips served with the fishcakes were good and hot, the fishcakes obviously had salmon and a white fish and were nice enough. The salad appears to be bagged leaves with a commercial fruity dressing Somewhat saddened that there was no fresh saltwater fish on the menu in a place like Craster."
