"Went to The Jolly Fisherman on Saturday evening. To be honest, I 'm absolutely not a fan of pretentious restaurants but I think there is a problem when places over sell themselves. We had booked ahead obviously and following the reviews, we were really looking forward to it. We ordered a crab salad (included a side dish of fries) and a seafood platter from the 'specials ' board. This included a couple of oysters. Neither dishes were bad, they were just extremely ordinary, taking into account the cost both were about £30 a pop. There was plenty of crab, but the salad was something you 'd get in a very ordinary tearoom. The chips were dried out probably hanging around, being kept warm for a while. The special seafood platter was similar ok, but not exceptional. We ordered a trio of small puddings, which included a chocolate mousse that was absolutely solid, you could barely penetrate it with a teaspoon. The concept of a mousse, 'a dish made as a smooth, light mass ', having been missed. The bill for the 2 main courses, the shared pudding, one bottle of wine (in the lower price range) came to £110. Really don 't feel that price ticket was justified. Ordinary pub meals with extraordinary prices."

The fish courses available on the menu were really varied and we had a great meal here. Kids options were decent as well and it’s a lovely setting in Craster overlooking the sea. Deserts were very over priced £10 for a brownie is insane) but the rest was good value

Quantity rather than quality. We had to wait a long time to get served although the restaurant was not very busy. I suspect they did not have enough staff in the kitchen. I had crab salad served with mayonnaise and a lot of spinach leaves with dressing and new potatoes. Satisfactory but too expensive. Nice table overlooking the harbour.

We stopped for a light lunch on a walk along the Northumberland Coastal path. It's very popular and was almost full inside and out. Views there are amazing but a little chilly at the shore side with a sea breeze. Highly recommend the crab sandwich. Service was friendly and efficient. We would definitely go back to sample more from the menu.

Very busy at 2:30 on a Wednesday afternoon in early May but managed to find a table inside in a quiet side bar. There was a short queue to order but service was efficient and the food arrived within 20 minutes. Good fish cakes and scampi. Chips good too. Worth considering booking a table as clearly very popular and there are not many food options in Craster now.

Food is always great here. Fantastic fresh seafood. I had the fish pie today but I love the Craster Kipper too! We went on a really busy Saturday, glad we booked a table. Despite it being busy the staff were excellent and friendly. Also they were brilliantly knowledgeable about allergens so it's safe for Gluten Free/Coeliacs to eat there stress free, loads of the menu can be adapted. We'll be back for sure!

Our fourth visit here and still it impresses us every time. Met up with folk we hadn't seen for a couple of years for lunch and after we had finished our delicious meal we were very much left alone. Food here is great and plentiful too, our table chose smoked salmon and prawn cocktails, mussels, seafood platters, scampi, the cod loin with dauphinoise potatoes and the house burger. All were served quietly and quickly and hot. Staff were attentive without being intrusive

at the moment we visited from Canada about the Christmas season and are very happy that we came to the jolly fisherman. first, my fishcake was a magical mysteries tour with various delicious seafood and an absolute taste feeling. the entire table enjoyed everything that was ordered. secondly, even if the device was crashed due to some, the management team had pulled from their other locations and especially our server; sam was fantastic. interesting about the menu, exceptionally friendly and polite and generally enjoy serving us. I am sure that sam is a really valuable advantage for this facility. Third, thanks to sam, the chefs and the entire staff of the jolly fisherman that we were as won...
