"Really very good burgers for lunch. Practically still sizzling on arrival and the beef was so rich and flavoursome. I really liked the chili jam and whatever was done to the brioche buns made them delicious. Staff, as always, absolutely lovely. Attentive and kind."

"Planning a day trip to London involved a lot of Google maps and researching places that did vegan options that weren't too far from Victoria. We ended up picking Pimlico for breakfast and I'm glad we did. I really like the atmosphere of the cafe. The are only two options from what I could see, and I went with the mushroom on toast, which included spinach and avocado too, and it was delicious. The flavours worked really well together. The other option was coconut porridge. They also did a really lovely cup of tea with oat milk! Tea can be a bit hit and miss, but this place delivered. Updated from previous review on 2023-06-23"

"I have visited this restaurant before and enjoyed their Sunday lunch, and I was not disappointed this time around. Despite the renovations causing it to be very busy, we were squeezed into a small table alongside other guests. It did take a bit longer than usual for our food to arrive, and our drinks took 20 minutes to be served. Additionally, getting into the building was a bit of a challenge as exits were blocked and there were no signs for guidance. Despite these minor inconveniences, I look forward to visiting again in the near future. Thank you, Susan Duncan."

"Beautifully restored historical hotel dating back to 15th century with original beams throughout. Quaint and charming with lovely rooms. Ours, room 1 had a modern refurbished bathroom and was a lovely size equipped with day bed, king beds, dressing table, drawers and wardrobe with ample space. Breakfast must not be missed, this is one of the best places to eat in the village with a reputation for perfect Sunday roasts. Our cooked breakfasts were delicious with lots of choice from full English, eggs royale, vegan and vegetarian options plus cereals, yogurt and granary. Decent sized car park and there are some converted barn rooms that I believe are wheelchair accessible. Lovely friendly staff. Highly recommend."

"Victors have changed it is more like a tapas style restaurant where dishes arrive at different time. Just very unorganised some people in the party received their food 30 minutes after the rest of the party had finished. Waitress was nice and very pleasant but the kitchen were unable to accommodate any slight change to a dish. Wouldn’t go back or recommend."

"we decided to visit the five arrows for lunch after we enjoyed an excellent afternoon, but we have remained disappointed. the foods were averaged for the total price compared to others operated in the region. the service was sometimes very slow. while we enjoy a cozy lunch, we felt the waiting time for teller between the main course and dessert to come out, and especially for the bill was exaggerated (the first question for the bill was forgotten, so we had to ask again what the entire waiting time was about 30 minutes.) contempt to details about dinge like after spuns with our coffee frame in asking and not going with a spoon. all those we were supposed to have preferred from the manager on the one hand. I believe they expect a certain standard to be met when they are dining here and unfortunately today it really is short for us. we also feel that all the things were considered and given the waiting times experienced that in this case the 10% service fee on a table for two was unfortunately not completely justified, but we paid regardless of that it came to an experience. it's a real shame when we waited a series of weeks to come for us and it just didn't fulfill our expectations."

"After receiving confirmation from OpenTable with the code 822102241, my wife and I arrived at the restaurant last night at 7:20. Despite our reservation, we were told we did not have a booking. After refusing to sit at a coffee table in the lounge, the manager was able to find us a table in the restaurant and offered us a complimentary drink to salvage the situation. However, our troubles did not end there. When we ordered the beef, we were not asked how we wanted it cooked and had to send it back because it was too rare. Our dessert took 30 minutes to arrive, prompting us to ask the staff if there was an issue. Finally, my wife had to ask for a glass of wine 15 minutes after initially requesting it. Despite some minor issues, we were still charged an additional 10% for the lackluster service. We have been patrons of this restaurant for over 20 years, both as a couple and in larger groups. However, after last night's experience, we are unlikely to return. In recent years, there have been new establishments in the area that offer comparable or even superior service. Last night's service at the restaurant was truly disappointing for what should have been a special occasion."

"First time at The Tudor, chosen by my friends who are local and regulars at the restaurant. Great choice on the menu, very generous portions and excellent value with the 2 and 3 course meal deal. Meal was very nicely prepared, the homemade pie was fabulous and meat content was very tender. Staff friendly and professional. Tried to return next night with my hubby only it was packed. Can see why, great restaurant would certainly return again when next in the area."

"After an awful journey taking 4 hours we met up with 4 other far traveled friends to begin a holiday nearby . we had done our research and booked Lunch several weeks ahead explaining we all had a long journey and time may be an issue. The welcome we had was superb, nothing was too much trouble for us weary travelers and the chef even stayed longer so we 6 could eat . Fantastic beautiful meal indeed and well worth the traffic chaos (I struggled to finish) the pies were superb, and pork loin melted in the mouth.Lots of local information from the manageress was invaluable and helped us. The location is fabulous . So much going on in this pub. every night something different. be sure to visit . we will definitely be going again when visit the area next time we would recommend this every time. "I went to Assos with 6 others for a birthday lunch. We ordered the sharing meze and a selection of other starters to share. The food was delicious and plentiful and the staff were very accommodating in responding to our perhaps unusual requests. Excellent value for money and the quality is always very good."

"I enjoyed a delightful Sunday dining experience at La Pergola. The highlight of my visit was their Sunday fixed price 2-course menu, offering any main, pizza, or pasta dish along with a dessert for £21.95. For starters, I indulged in the Scamorza In Carrozza—a heavenly creation of deep-fried breaded smoked mozzarella cheese, elegantly drizzled with a tantalizing balsamic glaze. The dish struck the perfect balance between crispy and creamy, setting the stage for a memorable meal. My choice for the main course was the Pappardelle Mare e Monti—a generous serving of wide strands of egg pasta adorned with a flavorful ensemble of wild mushrooms, prawns, and pancetta. The rich and creamy cream and white wine sauce elevated the dish, making each bite a harmonious blend of textures and tastes. Highly recommended for those seeking a Sunday feast outside Cambridge Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: £20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5"

"The Red Lion is a very friendly place, both in terms of the clientelle and the wait staff. It's a gorgeous old pub, although the inside isn't quite as beautiful as the exterior due to some modernising touches. The prices are fair. We did find that in our main courses there were some overwhelming choices in terms of sauces bream with a very strong wine sauce, and a Chinese dish that had a very strong sweet soy base which was too strong for a broth. I think that the more traditional meat dishes are probably the way to go. We enjoyed our evening."

"I had the pleasure of being served breakfast by Faith during my stay at the Dakota Hotel, and I must say that her service was exceptional. Faith was not only attentive but also incredibly helpful throughout my stay. She went above and beyond to ensure that I had a wonderful dining experience each morning. Her warm and friendly demeanor added a special touch to my stay, making it truly memorable. I greatly appreciate her dedication to providing outstanding service, and I highly recommend Faith to anyone visiting the Dakota Hotel. Thank you, Faith, for making my stay so enjoyable!"

"Couldn’t fault the service and decor but the food was very poor. Meal 1 Fish chips and mushy peas. The highlight of the meal was the chips. The fish in ‘beer batter’ the batter wasn’t crisp and because the batter was so thick there was a slimy layer of uncooked batter between the outer cocked batter and the fish. Mushy peas, they weren’t mushy more like crushed frozen peas. Both the fish and the peas were over seasoned and way too salty. Meal 2 roast chicken, the chicken had an unpleasant layer of yellow oil which also oozed out of the meat. Meal 3 roast beef the beef was rare and ok for our liking, however the rareness theme was carried over to the veg, the cabbage was raw. I am struggling to understand how three very simple meals can be produced so badly."

"Went for Sunday lunch with friends and overall must say this place was disappointing. For a place that sells itself on having its own micro brewery, surprising that its one ! home brew beer was almost undrinkable; we duly sent it back and it was reluctantly replaced by our waitress. Despite the place being no more than 25% full Sunday mid afternoon , all roasts except for beef and pork were off and the only fish item also sold out. The beef roast was overdone as advised by the waitress so we ate 2 pork roasts and 2 risottos. Food was a little better than school dinner quality perfectly edible when starving but otherwise unremarkable... The risotto was completely overdone and reheated. Cooking can be best described as lazy. Real shame as its predecessor The Hill was a great venue. The Stag which is about 200m away is a much better option"

"I was very disappointed with my experience at this restaurant. The lunch menu had limited choices and the prices were high considering the quality and portion sizes for my three young children. The adult meal I ordered, which consisted of tasteless soup and a cheese sandwich on stale white bread with a small amount of lettuce, cost £11, which I found outrageous. The total bill came to £60.50, and when I complained to the staff about the disappointing meals, I was only offered a £5 discount, the price of the soup. The manageress did not seem interested in addressing my concerns. I usually don't complain when dining out, but in this case, I felt that the lunch options and prices at this otherwise beautiful hotel were a letdown."

"I booked a table for 7 people at 7pm online. I received instant online confirmation as well as an email to confirm our booking. When we arrived the staff said they had no record of the booking. The restaurant was only half full so they were able to seat us anyway. It was a Sunday and we had primarily chosen the venue as their Sunday roast sounded good and was served until 9pm. As we sat down we were told they had run out of Yorkshire puddings. Within 10 minutes they came and took the Sunday menu away and said it was now unavailable but we could still order from the standard menu. My mother in law asked if it was possible to swap chips for mashed potatoes with the pie and was told no, the mashed potato portions were already allocated to other meals. At this point we left. The staff did try and seemed sympathetic but were annoyed when we left as they had poured out a couple of the drinks order. The restaurant looked like a good place it was a nice setting but the menu was expensive and other diners could be heard complaining they had been waiting a long time even though they weren't busy. We were understandably really disappointed with the whole experience."

"this was our first time at Reid’s. eating was really nice, steak was slightly underboiled (for medium rare, but less rare). my cocktail came after our starters arrived. I had to ask twice for the cocktail. the service was really poor, had to ask twice for the drink. when our head arrived, they forgot the garlic bread, so we had to ask and also had to ask for steak knives. the waiter didn't seem really interested. there were 3 large groups, however, so that we gave them the advantage of the doubt. not sure we're coming back."
