"After an awful journey taking 4 hours we met up with 4 other far traveled friends to begin a holiday nearby . we had done our research and booked Lunch several weeks ahead explaining we all had a long journey and time may be an issue. The welcome we had was superb, nothing was too much trouble for us weary travelers and the chef even stayed longer so we 6 could eat . Fantastic beautiful meal indeed and well worth the traffic chaos (I struggled to finish) the pies were superb, and pork loin melted in the mouth.Lots of local information from the manageress was invaluable and helped us. The location is fabulous . So much going on in this pub. every night something different. be sure to visit . we will definitely be going again when visit the area next time we would recommend this every time. Thank you to Jules and her staff for looking after us yesterday (21.8.23) for my Husband's 70th birthday celebration lunch. We had the private dining room with a lounge area and safe balcony which was perfect for 9 adults and 4 lively children. Gareth Angela

The chef here is an absolute magician. We asked for vegetarian options and the chef suggested some improvised options. What arrived were the most delicious meals we have ever tasted in a pub. Service was extremely friendly and polite, and the place was extremely tastefully decorated and clean. Thoroughly enjoyed the visit and will no doubt return. View menu

Cute, quaint and heaven for middle class England. Lots of well dressed and mature ladies out for lunch with friends, spending hours talking about nothijg in particular you get the idea. We went here for quick snacks and instead got a grease buffet. The portion of fries was TINY and the onion rings saturated in oil. The only saving grace was the coffee that was aromatic and tasty. The service was surprisingly slow given the few patrons in the pub. Overall, poor value for money. Service: 3 Location: 4

We went there for Sunday lunch and was made to feel very welcome. The staff went out their way to accommodate our dog at a lovely table. The food was very nice. I had the roast beef which was amazing. Cooked perfectly (pink in the middle) with nice accompaniments of veg and roast potatoes. My wife’s roast chicken was also really good and the kids fish and chips were excellent and a good size portion. Deserts were lovely, although Eton Mess probably had too much cream to meringue if I’m being really picky. Otherwise faultless. Would happily come again and recommend to others Food drinks: See above Service: 5 Location: 5 Hotel highlights: Kid-friendly
