"I must say that my experience at lunch today was incredibly disappointing. I had been looking for a suitable place to enjoy a quiet lunch with my Grandmother before visiting an exhibition at the British Museum. Starting on a positive note, the staff were excellent at providing a pre-lunch Gin Tonic in the hotel before we moved into the dinning room. Unfortunately after that things started to go down hill. The dinning room was deserted for lunch on a Saturday. As it later became apparent, this was intentional. Two groups of walk-ins were turned away and told that the restaurant was “fully booked” despite it only having only two people in it. This is a restaurant that clearly doesn’t want your business. On the food quality, I had ordered the fishcake starter which was to be served with a poached egg. The poached egg had been boiled to an inch of its life. The yolk was rock hard and going grey. I am not certain how such an error could occur in a restaurant that only had two diners. Further my Tuna from the Grill menu was barely cooked at all. Despite these issue the bill also proved challenging. Firstly, I had to remind them that our drinks had not been added to the bill. Secondly, despite the issues they had still had the nerve to add a 12.5% gratuity to the bill. At no point when we were leaving did they attempt to apologise. For those reading to the end of this review, do not visit this “non-restaurant”, they clearly do not value their customers."

"My mum and I called in to the bar at Poets House on our way home. Despite only having a glass of wine each, we were well-tended too and did not have to wait at all to be served at our table. As always the decor was fantastic and the atmosphere was fantastic. It was also lovely to see the happiness from a 40th party leaving from the function room. Many other people had enjoyed an afternoon tea, and couldn't eat it all. I last visited here for my dad's birthday breakfast- so it was fantastic to experience another time of day."

"Who knew there was an outdoor ski lodge just behind the British Museum?? The Montague had done a fantastic job of recreating a covered bar and informal dining area in their patio area and it was great fun! The menu set up was different to what was described on TT there was no set price anything which made it more expensive than expected but also more flexible as two of our group ended up not drinking. The two choices of fondue were delicious and the tasting platter looked amazing. Service was really friendlyalthough there were times when the bar was unattended so we had to wait for more drinks etc but that was minor as the staff had really got into the spirit and made it a really great experience. I'll definitely be returning next year"

"I have been to signor sassi's Bangkok branch but never to the london one. The aroma here is everything you would wish for in an Italian restaurant. I went there on a Friday and I don't think you SHOULD reserve a table because the restaurant is quite big. The service there is fantastic and the food was good. The fried calamari was crispy and the sauce that it accompanied with was outstanding. The truffled mash potato was the highlight of our meal. The truffle's taste was so strong and I LOVED IT!! "Have been here before, and it's a great location, with a nice atmosphere. Enjoyed a few weisbeers and some tasty food with a couple of old friends on a pleasant Friday evening. The staff were friendly, helpful and polite, even when asking us to move to another table to finish our drinks outside after we'd eaten, so they could prepare the table for the next service. One of our waiters followed up within a couple of minutes to return my phone to me which I'd left on my chair, which was very much appreciated. Will definitely come back again, and recommend it."

"This was our first time visiting this restaurant . We booked for lunch being midweek it was quiet so we can’t fairly comment on what the ambience would be in evening. But….. fantastic food we sampled six tapas dishes and each of them had superb taste. And the service was excellent. We will certainly be back with the rest of our friends and family in tow !"

"the food generally was very good and tastey although a very limited menu, especially the main courses for vegetarians... only 1 option....... so we settled for 2 starters each and a dessert which was yummie.... the chocolate brownie.... "Went here for dinner. Food was good, on the expensive side for what it was. Service was friendly and good, but you expect it to be when you go for dinner. Bit more upmarket place than a pub, nice environment. My only negative was the added 12.5% service charge. My absolute pet hate. What happened to tipping if you want to? I strongly object to this freedom to add it it to the bill without permission. Based on that I would not go out of my way to go back. Life is expensive enough these days without the 'presumption ' you should add a tip for the pleasure of someone taking a food and drink order and bringing it to your table. They are already being paid to do that. If it is a management thing, then increase the prices by 12.5% on the menu and be transparent about it. I object that you add it to the bill, unauthorised. You say, it 's discretionary, and you can ask for it to be removed, that puts a lot of people in an (un necessary) uncomfortable position to have to 'ask ' for it to be removed in the first place. I for one would, others would be embarrassed to do so. How about just 'not putting it there in the first place '? Just because others have started doing this does not make it right."

"I have to say this is the only time I have visited where I haven’t been satisfied It took ages for our order to be take for drinks when they eventually did take our drinks order we jumped at the chance and ordered our food. The starter arrived which was a sharing Camembert and we were not offered side plates which meant there was lots of cheese over the table after we had finished The food was ok I have no complaints there but after our plates were cleared for the main they did nor ask us to see the dessert menu or asked if we would like anything else. We waited and waited thinking that she would come back and we tried to get their attention without shouting by this time she had cleared the table next to us was being cleared and she immediately offered them the dessert menu. After half an hour of waiting to see the menu my fiancÃe had to walk up to the staff in the other room and ask for the bill because we weren’t going to be ordering desserts after having to wait. They were very apologetic but by this time it was too late. As myself and my partner don’t get to go on dates very often it ruined our one night out Service is everything in any establishment whether you’re eating pub grub or Michelin star food it’s not difficult to give great service and be attentive but when you clearly have wait staff who really clearly don’t want to be there it really shows I’m hoping this isn’t a regular occurrence but we won’t be going back for a little while."

"charlottes w5 used to be one of our favourites to eat and entertain friends, but recently the dinge seems to have gone a bit wrong. when we arrived, we were told that most fresh fish dishes were not available because the supplier might not have supplied any disturbing sign? the sweet potatoes gnocchi were not good, the others were okay. the service was, however, very complete and not on the standard for the prices they raise in my opinion. it was not busy, but we had to draw attention to order and ask twice for the beverage menu. chips were forgotten, coffee was forgotten, the personal looked haunted. on the plus side the appetizers arrived immediately and were good (although from any reason the Caesar salad was not available? odd) and the waitress offered a free pudding in exchange for a plate of uneaten gnocchi. we can return, but unfortunately I don't think we have the chance to invite friends there again."

"We had a pre-theatre booking and were made welcome even though we arrived early. We chose the chicken pie for two with one portion of buttered greens. Everything was very good and arrived piping hot and was plenty for the two of us. The staff were friendly and very helpful. We would certainly go again if in the area."
