"The service is excellent, but the food was a bit hit and miss. We had a really lovely camembert starter and then my partner had the pie which he said was OK but kind of stodgy, I had caesar salad which was quite a dry peice of over cooked chicken in a bit of a messy salad. I didn't eat it all because it wasn't very nice. The wine was lovely and the waitress was fantastic. It was a bit like the food you'd expect to get at a Weatherspoon pub, so kind of expensive for budget food and not great cooking. I'd definitely go for a drink there again, because the service is great and the interior of the pub is really lovely but I would look to eat somewhere else in the village. There's a place up the road from there that does amazing Thai food and the curry house is also really good."

Having visited the White Hart last year. We decided to visit again to meet family for a birthday celebration. On both occasions the staff were very friendly and accommodating. The food and service was excellent. I would fully recommend to friends and family. View menu

We enjoyed a family meal at The White Hart, the ambiance and service were great , the food let it down a little! 3 of us had steak, which were delicious, however the vegetables on our plates were raw, you couldn’t get a fork into the carrots or broccoli, my other son had a Margarita pizza, but there was so much mozzarella on it that it was unpalatable, especially when it cooled down. I did mention the veg but not the pizza, as my son didn’t want to make a fuss.

We have been going to The White Hart on a regular basis before lockdown and always had excellent meals especially the Fish and Chips, the haddock was thick, white, flakey and skinless. Yesterday, however, the fish was obviously a mass produced item, thin, off-white/pink, definitely not flakey and served with its skin on, something my wife detests and one of the reasons we visited The White Hart We shall not be returning in the foreseeable future, better quality can be purchased in M&S Food Hall!
