"Visited today with my husband, daughter and son in law whilst we visited them in yorkshire. The food was delicious! We all had sunday dinner and found no faults. However, the staff serving seemed to have no idea what they were doing, majority very young. Our drinks werent poured correctly, wrong wine given, beer wasnt poured well. Had to explain how to make our drink. They werent very polite and seemed more interested in making conversation with each other than checking in with us. Hense the lower mark."

Four of us had Sunday lunch. Two pork and two beef. All excellent with two large Yorkshire Puddings and fresh vegetables served with lovely “proper” gravy. Good service and good choice of drinks. Thoroughly enjoyed by everyone and will definitely return.

25 people of retirement age were served with a splendid 3 course lunch from a pre-selected menu. The food was delicious and served by the friendly staff. Elaine Brian were most helpful with the menu choices and with the organisation of the dining room to seat us all comfortably. Thank you to you all View menu

Visited here for an evening meal with family and had a lovely time with no complaints. The young lady who was looking after us was fantastic and along with delicious food and a warm atmosphere, we really had a good time. We visited on 'pie night ' and the pies looked and tasted amazing but were really big portion sizes.

Our first visit and we will definitely return. We had the Sunday roast (with 2 huge Yorkshire puddings! and the pie accompanied by a great variety of vegetables and both meals were well cooked and very good. We decided to have desserts although we were quite full and couldn't finish them so on our next visit we will share a dessert! The Ship is a lovely comfortable pub with friendly staff and a great menu. Also dog friendly.

Popped in for a drink on the way home from a day out with our 3 year old. Asked if any Sunday lunches still available and told yes. Menu was brilliant, opted for 2 Sunday lunches and 1 pie. Food came very quickly. Absolutely faultless food, delicious and huge portions. It really is amazing food, we said on the way home we think its the best Sunday lunch we've ever eaten out. Atmosphere was lovely, staff really friendly, helpful and welcoming. We Will definitely be visiting again View menu

Simple, well cooked, good value pub food. Brilliant. In these days of pretentious menus that don't deliver and are over charged, the Ship is a welcome return to great British Pub Grub. A superb cod and chips. But as the picture shows, I thought initially I'd been served a small dog!!!! And no I'd only drunk a pint. Fantastic service, traditional dining surroundings. Came away thinking this is what Yorkshire Pubs should be about. Clearly all Shipshape at the Ship. Well done. We will be back.

After a pleasant riverside walk from Boroughbridge on Sunday lunch 10th July we called in the Ship pub in Aldeborough on the off chance we could get a table for a Sunday roast, a pleasant friendly lad serving behind the bar managed to find us a table I can honestly say we were treated to the best roast beef dinner which was excellent in every way. To sum the Ship up,a friendly comfortable pub with professional helpful friendly staff thanks to all ! As Arnie said i,l be back Cheers Martyn Julie

"all those people who leave 1 star (or low star reviews) have either extremely high expectations or just have to be out to harm the call of a gem of a sandwich shop. I stopped yesterday, was late for lunch to my surprise and joy that they were still open, was a waiting queue to eat, so I might have been happy that they thought they would do 1 more order. I had the cheese-cutney sandwich couldn't resist the Scotch egg with black pudding. the Scotch egg was phenomenal, black pudding mixed with the sausage meat, a soft egg yolk practically still runny, which I really did not expect to add only to the already large aromene, the egg comes with a small pot homemade brown sauce (ketchup is an option, but I prefer brown soße) also the soße is a normal but it is a manifestation, it is a the sandwich was ineffective, thick-cut cheese on a homemade roll with homemade chutney (I suppose when everything else was made home) filled with fresh salad, I am curious what the difference between this is the ploughman’s, as it was in the round a ploughmans sandwich. the brot, cheese salad were all fresh taste amazing, the chutney transformed it, was like a cross between chutney salsa like the brown sauce was more sweet without much flavor, but really a great amount taste to what was possibly the best sandwich I had ever had! well made youngs, eating is great a try worth. reasonably also consider that it is the center of harrogate."
