"This restaurant was decorated beautifully. The staff were excellent. I ordered the battered fish, chips, mushy peas and tartare sauce. However although the fish looked good and the batter was excellent the fish just tasted of nothing. I know my fish and would have got more taste from a Birdseye fishfinger. My friend enjoyed her fish cakes but I was really disappointed. I didn’t complain because if that’s the fish they use another piece would have tasted the same. Pity as I would loved to have enjoyed it.."

"they love the service and the atmosphere in industry. eat big as long as they are not vegetarian, how sad the veggie main for the last months was risotto, which in my opinion can give you a vegetarian after the most boring unimaginative dishes. as there is a vegetarian in our party, they are not to return to frequent basic to have the same laborious walking option. a real scandal as the other courts are really imaginative. a little fantasy in this department would bring us through the door much more often. Otherwise, the location or the personal cannot owe."

"excellent service. very personal service by the recipeist and restaurant nafiza, which was efficient and friendly. the food was super, fresh and well cooked. the restaurant and the bar and other facilities are excellent. the ground for 3 stars for ambiente, however, is the restaurant lighting too bright and there should be background music. the conversation with others was very audible. Low-level music helps mask talks and more so forces people to talk calmer. the lighting did not help as it was at full brightness level, so it was not relaxed and other guests thought they were at home and talked very loud. I hope that this can be fixed, as this is very slight excitement, but the restaurant will transform. we are coming back to the final."

"What a wonderful time we had. It was my partners birthday which the staff did not until after we arrived but they produced a small cake with a candle. We were offered seconds of beef and Yorkshire puddings and cheese to follow our dessert. The meal was delicious, the staff achieved a perfect balance between attentiveness and not being pushy, the wine was excellent and the surroundings were so comfortable and relaxed. We will definitely be back. Many, many thanks."

"I made a reservation for a table of 7 at 7pm online. I received immediate confirmation online as well as an email to confirm our booking. However, when we arrived, the staff mentioned that they had no record of the reservation. Despite the restaurant only being half full, they were able to accommodate us. We had chosen this venue primarily for their Sunday roast, which we heard good things about and is served until 9pm. Unfortunately, when we sat down, we were informed that they had run out of Yorkshire puddings. Shortly after, they took away the Sunday menu and said it was no longer available, but we could still order from the regular menu. When my mother-in-law asked if she could swap chips for mashed potatoes with her pie, she was told that the mashed potatoes were already designated for other dishes. At this point, we decided to leave. The staff did make an effort and seemed understanding, but appeared annoyed when we left since they had already started on a few drinks. The restaurant appeared nice and had a good atmosphere, but the menu was on the pricier side. Other diners were also heard complaining about long wait times even though the restaurant wasn't very busy. Overall, we were extremely disappointed with the entire experience."

"Fantastic meal at Headlam Hall Hotel. Both my wife and I really enjoyed our meals. The Orangery dining room is a lovely backdrop for the food that was well presented, exceptionally tasty and, unlike many meals out these days, well portioned. The menu certainly lives up to the claim of Modern British cooking using locally sourced ingredients. My Tandoori lamb scotch egg starter was very flavoursome, a great combination... and even had a runny yolk! Both mains (belly pork/fillet of beef) tasted great, and the meats were succulent. My chocolate cheesecake was to die for, and Vanessa's Baked Parkin, salted caramel sauce, brandy snap and black treacle ice cream was a very clever and harmonious combination of flavours. Service was efficient and friendly but not over-obtrusive. All in all, it was one of the best meals we have had in a long time. Thank you."

"I visited De Rougemont Manor on Wednesday the 28th of February for Afternoon Tea to celebrate my mum and aunts birthday. When the food was presented to us the crisps to me looked as if they had either been broken or it was at the end of the packet some of the sandwiches were dry and also the cakes had dried out from where I believe they had been cut too early. As a party of five adults and two children we had to keep asking for refills (cheese, jam etc) as we wasn't asked if we needed anything else, we was never asked once if we needed our tea or coffee replenished. I appreciate it may of been short staffed that day due to the weather (it was snowing on and off) as there only seemed to be one member of staff working in the bar/restaurant. I feel really disappointed that the day was ruined by this as it was meant to be a nice get together for joint birthday celebrations. Also I have contacted the hotel and have not had any response back from them which again is awful customer service. All in all I will not be returning unless things are thoroughly improved and what should of been a lovely day celebrating was not."

"A lovely pub with a welcoming feel and a very accommodating team. I have so far alway found the other customers to be peaceful rather than punchy. The sun shines on the front garden in the afternoon so a table outside can be nice Bar area with tall tables and large dining booths Restaurant area with flexible seating serving good, regularly changing pub grub. However, the best seats (in my humble opinion) are the little tables in the bay windows great for a gin and a coffee with a good book! Parking is on street (if you can find a space) the bus stops outside and the tube is a short walk away."

"There were 5 people In our group for lunch, 2 vegans, 2 veggies and an omni. 4 of us actually ordered from the vegan menu and 1 ordered a vegetarian dish. My main issue was that 2 of us (myself being vegan and the omni in the group! ordered the flat bread from the vegan menu it didn’t advertise coming with chips but when we ordered our waiter asked us which chips we would prefer so we both asked for sweet potato fries. When the fries came out they had cheese on them (despite us clearly ordering from the separate vegan menu . I’m not sure if this was an error on the waiter or the kitchen’s part but the waiter apologised. I shared the fries with one of the vegetarians in the group so I just avoided any that had cheese on them, however I’m now wondering whether actually they were not cooked in a separate fryer and this is why they weren’t on the vegan menu!? In terms of staff knowledge I was also disappointed when I asked what type of plant based burger it was on the vegan menu (I.e. meat substitute or bean based etc and our waiter didn’t know or really seem to understand the question (and didn’t offer to find out . That’s why I chose the flat bread instead and then had the cheese issue! My second main issue is that the food was pretty average especially considering the price. 3 of us had the vegan chocolate tart advertised as coming with fresh berries. (2 of us originally ordered the treacle tart which was sold out, fair enough . However 2 of us can’t eat strawberries so asked for the tart without them, expecting other berries instead, however the only berry on the third tart was a solitary diced strawberry! The tart was also pretty small considering it didn’t come with any accompaniment but cost £6.25! Overall it’s great they’re trying with a vegan menu but my view is that they must try harder!"

"Met friends for a late lunch, so it was fairly quiet but still a nice atmosphere in the bar. We shared 2 starters between 4 of us (baked Camembert and the ravioli), then the mains were cheeseburger, chicken club sandwich, chicken Kyiv and the flat iron steak. All food was well cooked and presented and tasted great. Service was quite slow, as we weren’t in a rush that was absolutely fine for us but if you are watching the clock you might find that a little frustrating. Would definitely return"

"I had a wonderful celebrity dinner tonight. the restaurant is nice and cozy inside, with tables well spread. there are real white table clothing that feels just that something more special. for each cursor there was a 3-course menu for £34 with about 5 choices. the smoked salmon starter was delicious and I understand that the cheese cake was also very delicious! we had the fish and beef main and both were a good portion size and delicious. dessert was also pleasant. with our coffee, which was a nice note, we got beautiful little brotbiscuits. I received a beautiful birthday card in the restaurant, which was a very beautiful geste! the waitresses were all beautiful and the service was good. we hope to go back to try out their champagne breakfast sometime! would recommend a nice, well-priced meal in a beautiful place."

"Great location in Liverpool One Centre. We ate at Browns and shared the belly-busting mixed starter which included asparagus with the most overwhelmingly buttery sauce, pulled pork croquettes and popcorn chicken. I had a big hearty steak pie with a flaky pastry crust with a mulled wine topped with cinnamon sugar on the side. My mum had lamb chops with a little mini shepherds pie to go with it which was a bit of a meat overload, but some people like that, right? The rhubarb ice cream got me really excited but it fell massively short of the mark and was far too sweet and totally missed the sharpness of rhubarb."

"I was invited to a friend 's surprise party here at the weekend. When we arrived staff were lovely, very helpful when we arrived to put up birthday decorations. There were 16 of us and we had the backroom upstairs, ideal for small party. It was a big birthday surprise for my friend. We were all having a great time and it was a lovely atmosphere until one of the waitresses came to the table. She was so abrupt and sharp when dealing with us. One of my friends said she felt as if the 'teacher had just told us off '. That made me laugh as most of us were over 50. Every time she came to the table she was really frosty which was a shame as the other waitresses were really nice. Food was delicious too. Credit to the Chefs. People are still talking about the 'Legendary ' steak and ale pie. I hesitated before giving this review as I did not want to upset my friends and make them think I hadn 't enjoyed the evening because we really did. It would have been a 5 stars , if it wasn 't for the surly waitress."

"Do they taste the food?! What a shame. Lovely night out because of the company. The serving staff were friendly and pretty attentive, but the food was not good. My friend and I ordered muscles as a main. The muscles themselves were cleaned and cooked well, and they were nice big muscles. But the whole dish completely lacked flavour. There was hardly any sauce, and what was there appeared to be simply made of unsalted butter and water with some boiled onions thrown in. It was very odd! The muscles were nearly £20 and it was an eye watering £5 for a side of chips. Because dinner was so disappointing (for most one friend enjoyed a nice meal), we opted to finish the meal on high other dessert. I had gyspy tart. The tart itself was yummy, but again, the ice cream completely lacked flavour. It was like they hadn't tasted it. It was so strange. For a place with a typical price point of £30 for a maim course, I'd expect a lot better. I won't be returning. At a final bill of £60 per head (with alcohol), it was vastly overpriced and completely disappointing. Service: 5"

"Lovely lunch, although it would have been nice to be told what veg we would be given, as my partner didn't like red cabbage. I did not want to say anything and embarrass anyone. My lamb was delicious and his mixed roast was good too. Service excellent. The only thing was it was quite dark in the restaurant. Think it was an old building. Will go back."

"It was ok but wouldn’t be in a rush to return. Firstly we wasn’t greeted that great was just told our table wasn’t ready so we then walked over to the bar area. Once seated we was asked about 5 times within the first ten minutes which drinks we would like to order even though we was told a drinks menu was being brought over after 15 mins we was then given a drinks menu then after ordering it took around 15 -20 mins for drinks to arrive we then ordered our starters and mains which took around 40 minutes for the starters to arrive then shortly after we were asked twice if our mains should be brought out after not even being half way through our starter dishes. Once our mains were severed shortly after we was told we had only ten mins left on the table which wasn’t correct as we still had 35 mins after speaking to 4 different waiters and proving my booking time they eventually agreed for us to have the table to the correct time which even then didn’t feel like they wanted us to because of all the rushing at this point we didnt even want to stay. I would say the food was lovely but the staff let the experience down majorly like I say it’s nice but I would be in no rush to return"

"Visited with some friends for the Sunday roast. Really nice food however on the pricey end. Service was fast and efficient. Would recommend this restaurant. We all ordered the beef roast for mains. Meat was tender and vegetables were cooked well and not over cooked. For dessert I had the amaretto crème brûlée which was exceptional. My friend had the chocolate tart which was tasty and not sickly. Price was roughly £50 a pair so not the cheapest meal around. More of a one-off venue."

"The Percy Arms offers delicious and satisfying food at a great value. We have visited this restaurant multiple times and have always been impressed by the quality of food, service, and welcoming atmosphere. The staff were friendly and attentive, as one would expect in Northumberland. The only downside was the high price of the desserts, at £8 each. It may be more reasonable to have individual prices for desserts. Thank you for a lovely dining experience."

"I booked the festive menu for three and said I would have something off the menu all four of us had purchased a voucher for £15 which enabled us to have £25 towards meal and drinks. The three friends each paid a deposit of £5. The meal was dreadful!!! The service was slow and we were the only ones in there! The beef had no Yorkshire pudding, the Turkey ROLL was like Bernard matthew’s, my chicken was over cooked and dry it was supposed to have a sauce but I had to ask for gravy it was so dry! And the dessert (treacle tart) was not only cold but rock hard!!! We asked to speak to someone to say how disappointed we were and basically were brushed off then she told us one voucher per bill but we were told per person! So she then had to split the bill we all ended up giving her our vouchers because we wouldn’t go again. Appalling! The two stars were for the decorations!"
