"The food was disappointing and expensive and the service pretty much non existent. When we arrived the staff member who was greeting people was on the phone. She eventually looked up at us but didn 't acknowledge us or smile. We decided to go and use the bathroom and then come back. She was either still on the phone or on another call. Again, she didn 't acknowledge us. Another server came and stood there for a minute or so, and then acknowledged us and said she 'd take us through. Which she did in silence. My friend had a question about the wine when our server came to take our drinks order she just wanted to know if either of the rosé wines were similar to a blush. The server replied We only have two rosés , and that was that. No help, no saying she 'd go and find out. We were a little shocked at the prices of the food £19 for fish and chips, and £22 for a dry, overcooked chicken schnitzel. We contemplated leaving, but didn 't want to be rude. We were part way through our mains when we noticed another customer taking a photo of something on the wall. It was a specials board. Nobody had told us there were specials, which we probably would have chosen had we realised there were some. When it came to pay the bill, we chose on the card reader not to add a tip. Our server had barely uttered a word to us, had been unhelpful with the wine, and hadn 't told us about the specials. When we chose the no tip option she gave us a disgusted look and pretty much tutted!!"

Almost every time we visit Cambridge we eat here. They serve a perfect roast with a perfect pint. Can't wait to go back.

The food was average and the service was slow. I was waiting 25 minutes for my dessert to arrive only to find out (after reminding the staff that my dessert was missing) the chef had already left.

Staff disinterested, food slow and cold not edible. The offer was to bring some hot gravy to warm it up when challenged. The only time I have submitted such a poor review but want to warn people how poor it is.

really friendly staff that my partner happy birthday sung and were very efficient and accommodating! we just have to start, but the bastanosh is a must! make sure they spend 17 pounds for a burger and 8 pounds for a starter but though expensive, it is a beautiful place!

Food was good but a little overpriced for the portion size and taste. I think they might have been having a bad day because service was exceptionally slow. This was acknowledged and a free round was offered. It was an okay experience but I cannot recommend this establishment based on this visit.

the pint shop is highly valued in most magazines that they read about good restaurants in cambridge. we had an early booking at 18.30 a.m. and were the only ones in the restaurant and lacked in the atmosphere. since no one in the restaurant service was slow and most employees appeared aloof and uninterested, which did not give us the feeling of being desired. when the evening arrived at more people who improved the atmosphere somewhat. the saving gnade was eating that was excellent and I can't blame.
