"Today we payed our first visit to Brawn and what a fabulous lunch we enjoyed to. Set in the heart of Columbia Road , East London is where you’ll find this trendy casual dining restaurant. The menu has a mediterranean theme that is designed for sharing although the sizes of the mains gives you the opportunity to have a starter , main and dessert if you so desire. We entered to receive a nice friendly welcome and as we looked around the restaurant was full with a good buzzy atmosphere. We were then escorted to our table which was in fact through the other side where you would also find the open kitchen. Once seated we were greeted by Victoria our waitress for the afternoon and who did a fabulous job in looking after us. We started with a cocktail while taking a look at the menu. After chatting to Victoria about the menu and her recommendations we placed our order. We started with a selection of snacks including Bread Butter , Salame Campagnolo , Parmesan Fritters and Rabbit Rillete Toast. They were absolutely delicious and we couldn’t wait to see what would be coming next. It was now onto our starters where we would share an amazing Cuttlefish , nduja , chickpea , aioli along with a Cornish Crab , violet artichoke , celery , red chilli before finishing with Grilled Lamb Heart , friggitelli pepper , yoghurt , pistachio , mint. The flavours in each dish were perfectly balanced and a delight to eat. We then moved on to the main course where we were in for a real treat with two stunning dishes. My wife chose the Duck Leg with sprout tops , celeriac and pear. For myself I chose the Pork Loin with hispi cabbage , agen prune and mustard that was simply divine. We really were enjoying some amazing food all washed down with a fabulous Momento Mori 2020 Fistful of Flowers natural wine with flavours of pink grapefruit , peach and apricot. It was now time for a little break before moving on to Cheese and Dessert. This started with a selection of two cheeses with jelly and crackers. We followed this with the Quince Posset , biscotti and grappa as well as the heavenly Chocolate Tart with creme fraiche. We finished with a coffee to bring to an end a fantastic first visit to Brawn and one that I would love to repeat soon. The food and wine was amazing and our waitress Victoria was excellent so yes I would highly recommend a visit."

"Dear [Restaurant Manager's Name], I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to share my experience at your establishment, The Allegory, located at 1a Principal Place, Worship Street, London, EC2A 2FA. Unfortunately, my partner and I found our meals to be quite disappointing. My partner's chicken skewers arrived lukewarm and seemed stale, as though they had been sitting out for a while or were reheated. I ordered the vegan taco as a starter, but it was unbearably spicy, making it difficult for me to enjoy the meal afterwards. I question whether it should have been that spicy. For my main course, I chose the vegan curry, which was also lukewarm and unappetizing. I managed to take a few bites but felt embarrassed to leave most of it uneaten, so I requested to take it with me. However, when I exited the restaurant, I was still hungry. Given the total of £42.75, I felt the price was quite steep for a meal that we did not enjoy. I have heard wonderful things about your restaurant and wonder if our experience was just an off day. We were genuinely disappointed in our culinary experience and I felt it was important to provide this feedback. Additionally, I would like to inquire if there might be a possibility of a reimbursement. I attempted to fill out the feedback form on your website, but encountered an error stating, "failed to send your message." Thank you for your attention to this matter. Best regards, Carmel Farquhar Phone: 07817 620 414"

"Vegetarian Options (Vegan upon request) WHAT WE HAD (3 Pax): 5 A Day £4.75] – Mint, Blackberries, Blueberries, Raspberries, Greek Yoghurt and Apple Juice; Radiant Roots £5.95] – Apple, Carrot, Ginger, Celery and Fennel; Golden Mango £4.50] – Mango, Tumeric, Yoghurt and Almond Milk; Full Veggie (Specially Made Vegan) £8.95] – Beans, Spinach, Mushrooms, Avocado, Grilled Tomato and Toast; Buttermilk Chicken and Waffle £8.95] – Avocado, Sour Cream, Jalapenos and Chilli Maple Syrup I came here for breakfast with my friends as they wanted to try the Buttermilk Chicken and Waffle. I did know that they have vegetarian options from the menu we saw the day before, but wasn’t sure if they had anything vegan. It turns out that they did not have any specifically vegan items on the menu. However, the waitress and kitchen was very accommodating and made modifications to the full veggie breakfast for me. It was your typical full breakfast made vegan that was simple and cooked well with fresh produce. I really appreciate how helpful and accommodating the staff were, especially in answering my questions in assuring me it was vegan. Really made me feel at ease. My friends enjoyed their Buttermilk Chicken and Waffle too which was a good portion too. We all loved the juice and smoothies we ordered as well! We also had a look at their cocktail menu which intrigued us. Excellent customer service, good vibes with the bright and fun décor that is still classy, good food at reasonable prices, I do see myself coming back here for dinner/to try their cocktails if I find myself in Edinburgh again."

"Once seated, we were quickly offered water, receiving one bottle of still and one of sparkling as requested. We were also offered other drinks, but everyone in our group was content with water. It took us a few minutes to decide on our order, which was perfectly fine since we weren’t in a rush. However, after a while, we began to wonder about the status of our food. We were a group of four, and a table for two next to us, who had arrived after us, was already being served. They, like us, had only ordered main courses, with the enticing dessert menu in mind for later. Another party of two on the other side was served their starters, followed by their mains, while we were still waiting. In the end, I lost track of how long we had been waiting, but I started to feel a bit embarrassed since we had recommended this restaurant to our friends. I decided to look for our waitress, as it had been a while since I’d seen her at our table. I asked her how much longer we might have to wait. She went off to find out but wasn't particularly apologetic. She returned to inform us that our meals would be served shortly. After another 5-10 minutes, our food finally arrived. My monkfish was delicious, while the princess parmigiana was a bit disappointing to those who ordered it. The beef looked fantastic, though the last slice was a bit tough. Regardless, we enjoyed our time with our friends, and there was a pleasant atmosphere in the restaurant. Ultimately, no one was in the mood for dessert. After a couple of hot drinks, we asked for the bill. Since we couldn’t get the attention of our waitress, we requested it from another waitress passing by. A manager also assisted us in getting our bill."

"The experience was marred from the start by the service. We were left standing at the wait here to be seated position. At least four members of staff stared straight at us and ignored us. No one came over to advise that a hostess would be along shortly. When a hostess did arrive, she told us we would have the table for one and half hours, which directly contradicts the booking terms on Open Table, which state two hours for a party of four.On being seated, when we asked what the composition was of the cocktail of the month Pornstar Spritz, we were told: is Champagne and some juice. Ignoring that the Champagne reference is incorrect, why can't waiters simply say that they don't know and fetch someone who does? After we replaced that waiter, the service improved, although a request to have roast beef cut from the rarer part of the joint was met with a look of complete confusion. Eventually, having been given a choice of medium or well done, I went with something else. The food was for the most part good, although my baked eggs were added to the dish too early and were consequently hard and the roast beef ordered by another member of the party was so well done that a cobbler would have rejected it. Ambience is good, in that the space is reasonably tasteful, but it is a cavernous hotel lobby space, so if you're looking for something intimate, look elsewhere. Prices are fine. The Riedel glassware is wasted this is never going to feel like a tasteful outing in the West End.The house Champagne is Perrier Jouet, which is better than most"

"The food was disappointing and expensive and the service pretty much non existent. When we arrived the staff member who was greeting people was on the phone. She eventually looked up at us but didn 't acknowledge us or smile. We decided to go and use the bathroom and then come back. She was either still on the phone or on another call. Again, she didn 't acknowledge us. Another server came and stood there for a minute or so, and then acknowledged us and said she 'd take us through. Which she did in silence. My friend had a question about the wine when our server came to take our drinks order she just wanted to know if either of the rosé wines were similar to a blush. The server replied We only have two rosés , and that was that. No help, no saying she 'd go and find out. We were a little shocked at the prices of the food £19 for fish and chips, and £22 for a dry, overcooked chicken schnitzel. We contemplated leaving, but didn 't want to be rude. We were part way through our mains when we noticed another customer taking a photo of something on the wall. It was a specials board. Nobody had told us there were specials, which we probably would have chosen had we realised there were some. When it came to pay the bill, we chose on the card reader not to add a tip. Our server had barely uttered a word to us, had been unhelpful with the wine, and hadn 't told us about the specials. When we chose the no tip option she gave us a disgusted look and pretty much tutted!!"
