"my friend and I went to capitulate for dinner to celebrate his birthday, as was capitula, we thought the only decent restaurant in blackheath. all the others seem to be pushing down quickly. we have been in the past often in the capitulas, and the food and services were good we had no appetizers and ordered only one main meal (black foam and black bell), because we were not huge hungry because we were eating a lot of birthday cakes earlier! we had a glass of wine and were offered a piece of bread. 35 minutes later we waited for our food. in this time no one came to ask if we were in order or offer us more drinks. I asked the manager if our food was ready. he said it would be 5 minutes without a statement of delay then disappeared 10 minutes later there was no sign of food or manager. That is why we decided to go because we lost interest in eating. we have to go and the manager came by. he told us the delay was due to a big party in the ground floor. this was not the case, there was a group of 8 people who had finished their meal for a long time. we were there earlier when it was much more business and the service was not so bad. while we waited, we saw a customer who had finished their meal, slipped £20 into the manager hand when he left. Perhaps the workers need bribe to provide good services? it is such a scandal, but another blackheath restaurant has become complicit and believes that it with the treatment of its customers without respect. I will vote for one with my feet and will not eat again in this restaurant. I will also leave everyone I don't know to go there"

A friendly restaurant with lovely outside seating onto the heath. Food was lovely with good wine that can be served in carafes for sharing at lunch.

We always feel so welcomed every time we visit this restaurant. We hadn't been in a few months due to having a new born, but they were so accommodating, even with a baby. We will definitely be back soon.

It has been a while since we visited Chapters, but the steak never disappoints. However, I did notice that they no longer provide linen napkins, only paper ones, which was a bit disappointing considering the price of the meal. View menu

The food lacked seasoning and i have eaten better and cheaper elsewhere. On the whole i would go again but not have the steak. The table i booked was supposedly ours for 2 hours per the booking. There were 2 of us. We had an main and dessert each. However we were there for nearly 3 hours. That's very slow service. Plus despite being told something wouldn't appear on our bill, it did.

Nice food, had reserved a table but were seated downstairs which I had assumed wouldn't be the case (but I had not asked). I wouldn't recommend for families with children. The restaurant staff seated a family with a toddler and baby and then complained when the baby was making noise, saying it wasn't appropriate for a Friday evening and the father was obliged to take the baby outside yet his food arrived whilst he was outside trying to get the baby to sleep. Why seat them if that is the attitude to children. Others in the restaurant were giving them disgusted looks too, clearly not expecting children to be in the restaurant.
