"We used to come here all the time and then what with covid we had a big gap. I went a few months ago with my wife and it was not as good, but rather than write it off we decided to go again, and so went for dinner last night. The food is so so : lots of delivery drivers wait around outside with mopeds shining their headlights through the window whilst they await takeaway orders from the counter next door. It 's much less pleasant than it used to be, but probably more profitable. The restaurant owner is a miserable guy: ultra low customer service skills, grumpy. The setting was a bit bright, too many lights, not at all intimate. The food was mostly okay but the tempura had a Nasty aftertaste like the oil was old or dirty. Time to raise your game guys. This used to be a fabulous neighbourhood Japanese restaurant. It 's just a takeaway these days that puts up with walk in diners. Not cool at all."

"We visited Koto Restaurant on North Parade for Sunday lunch for the first time, and we wish we had tried it sooner. The ramen broth was incredibly delicious, with a gentleman next to us remarking that it tasted just like what he had in Japan. The menu was straightforward and easy to order from, with both the broth and noodles being homemade and preservative-free. The food was healthy, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The only downside was that they do not take reservations, so there may be a wait. Overall, I would rate the food at Koto Restaurant as some of the best in Oxford."

"We went after their great renovation and the ambience is good for one night in a quiet yet lively restaurant. However, given the situation not central London compared to all other many other Japanese restaurants I was, the prices are too high. I pay less for everything in an authentic Japanese restaurant in central locations. Sushi quality is great with thick and fresh cuts and good decoration and good selection of menu for the size of the kitchen. A dish that I do not enjoy was my favorite grilled egg on rice, the size of the aal was 1/3 of the normal size for the price of £18, as the aal prices have decreased little in recent years. For this reason I gave 2 star of 5 for value. If you are looking for great sushi in Kentish Town, there is no other place, so I recommend if you are a local Japanese fan."

"Oh my goodness, what an amazing find in Finnieston! The restaurant isn't very big, but we were lucky to get a table early on. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. My colleague ordered the chicken katsu and I had the beef bulgogi. The portions were so generous that I struggled to finish my meal. It's definitely enough to share when you order an extra side of rice. The food was delicious and I highly recommend it, especially if you're in the area or at the SEC (a short 15-minute walk away). It's well worth a visit."

"The food was served promptly, and the service was excellent. The bento box with side dishes allowed for a variety of flavors to be sampled. There were plenty of vegan options available, including vegan mochi for dessert. Although I didn't try the dessert or any of their drinks this time, I plan to do so next time. The music, which I believe was J-Pop, added to the overall enjoyable dining experience."

"Friendly staff, a nice take on traditional Japanese fare. There’s no pressure to eat a full meal, even at lunch time (some students dropped by ate only dessert specials), a nice approach. The edamame beans are delicious, the pork donburi very filling! I suspect the miso soup is made to cater for vegans, it doesn’t have the fatty richness of genuine miso broth made from pork bones; the rice in our dishes was not sticky as it would be in Japan, which made eating it with chopsticks more difficult. Slightly disappointing as Chef appeared to be Japanese! The guys found the chicken teriyaki less filling than my donburi, the chicken udon noodles was enjoyed. The Takoyaki (octupus balls) were the star of the show, tasty representative of the real McCoy! Reasonably priced fast service. One to return to."

"I highly recommend Miyako and will certainly return. I'm not fond of sushi but that was not an issue as the menu had plenty of alternative options. The food was really tasty, good-sized portions and the service warm, friendly and efficient. It's quite a small restaurant so I would recommend booking in advance."

One dish was given to a different table and sat there for 5 minutes until they realised the error and brought it to us. "really delicious, healthy Japanese cuisine. the miso suppe is like a hug in a cup. great service and great variety on menu. with one of the dishes too much rice and not enough sauce/meat. and the only other room for improvement is I have always found it super cool in there, so take an additional cardiac. beautiful view of bruntsfield area where you can watch people. we always make ourselves happy and full. can't wait to come back."

"Without a doubt, the BEST Korean fried chicken I have ever had. And I’ve eaten a lot of fried chicken in my life! I make it a point to take visiting friends to eat at 3KOBROS because the quality of food and the warm friendly service makes this an unmissable place and they never disappoint! "beautiful, light local with many seating. the personal is friendly and the service is fast. there are many vegan options in the entire menu: starter, sushi and hot net. we have a little bit of everything done and everything was delicious. the prices are on the higher side for Japanese eating in edinburgh, but deserves that. "Now rebranded from Maru to Domo this restaurant has maintained its excellent quality. I have been eating here with my family for years now. I have eaten sushi all over the world and can honestly say that the food at Domo is very good. It...is certainly the best sushi in the area and I think the food holds up well compared to London restaurants like Nobu and Sticks n Sushi. It is an intimate atmosphere, fairly priced with a small team of very friendly staff."
