"we called this business to place an order for pizzas when we celebrated a birthday. the first call processor took mine or and we agreed the delivery. I then asked to pay with my card to covid precautions and best...practicing the gentleman told his colleague that this customer would like to pay with the card, then there was a bizarre change and argue that followed, all I heard was to tell him to pay cash and the phone line went down. I called back to make my payment and another angry man replied to the call, I said I am only for mine or to pay and he answered with wut and terrible attitude say I am too busy to take their payment on the phone with card I informed the crazy that I am not my order. there is no word and clearly no business at all. what an experience! unnecessary to say, will not call again this business and if this is their hire to customer service, covid compliance and general art and wise good knows how their products are!"

"This place is a bit of an institution in Cambridge. Situated at the heart of the old town, folklore has it that the university tried to close it down but the students managed to get them to overturn their decision. Surrounded by high profit-margin chains and exclusive boutiques, I could believe it. You can actually get *good* chips for less than two quid, which is a small miracle in itself. They will do you a chip butty (pita filled with chips and a good dollop of hummus on top) for not much more. It must be the student influence, but they do mention vegan options on the chalk board outside, and they do at least appear to know what a vegan is, which I'm always so grateful for! If you want to up the ante, you could go for the falafel or apparently the veggie burger is vegan (not 100% confirmed that yet though they have a rough and ready seating area upstairs and you can even get a sneaky glass of wine to go with your feast. Yep, they still predominantly serve animals, but, for Cambridge, this ain't too bad. Updated from previous review on 2017-07-28"

"I have never seen such a large selection of vegan choices on two complete menu pages before. The restaurant offers many pizza options, as well as veggie and sojaburgers, veggie, thunder, and chicken-style kebabs, loaded pommes with tofu, and several dessert options. I had a hard time deciding what to order, but we ended up getting the vegan chicken kebab, salted chili fries, a pizza, and churros for dessert. Everything was incredibly delicious, especially the churros with biscoff sauce. I highly recommend trying them!"

"I ordered from this restaurant for the first time and it arrived 40 minutes earlier than expected. The pizza was absolutely delicious, with the chicken wings cooked to perfection. We ordered the BBQ basic chicken and double cheeseburger, adding bacon and mushrooms with stuffed crust. I will definitely be ordering from here again! Thank you for not disappointing!"

"So to begin, I have to point out the flaws. My partner said his fish was a touch soggy, and I ordered chips bolognaise but the name isn’t very accurate. It was the most amazing chips and gravy type sauce I’ve ever had. Like AMAZING, especially for a takeaway after a couple drinks. But it was not a bolognaise sauce. However, I was so happy I didn’t care. The chips were nicely fried and the sauce was heaven. I did check, at first thinking I had received chips and gravy, but that is indeed their chips bolognaise. Regardless of the title, I’ll be getting it again on a night when cooking doesn’t appeal."

"Despite passing by several other eateries on my way home, I decided to give Harry's another chance since it is my local spot. I wanted to offer some friendly feedback, so I made sure none of the dishes contained pork and mentioned that the sausage did not suit my taste. However, Harry appeared offended and unhelpful. As I observed him handling my order, I became convinced that he tampered with my food while preparing it in the kitchen. Furthermore, his colleagues seemed to be taunting me and making fun of the situation. When I questioned Harry about this, he became rude and dismissed my concerns as nonsense. He even refused to give me a refund, leaving me feeling outraged. The overall cleanliness of the establishment was lacking, and the staff's appearance was unprofessional. In conclusion, my experience at Harry's was disappointing and frustrating. I would not recommend dining there again."

"I typically don't write reviews, but as someone who used to frequent this restaurant and considered it a favorite place to order from, I am extremely disappointed. My friends and I were having a party and ordered takeout, but only half of our order arrived. We didn't realize this until we started unpacking. I called the restaurant to inquire about the missing items, but the person on the phone was rude and accused me of being a liar. After some back and forth, they assured me that the missing items would be sent out, but they never arrived. Despite multiple calls, the situation was never resolved. I reported the issue to Uber Eats, but they only offered a partial refund. This experience ruined our Saturday night and I will not be ordering from this restaurant again unless they address the issue with their staff."

"This restaurant is great for both large groups and individuals, with a bar-style dining area at the back. This setup is unique to this particular location in the chain, but it is quite effective. The rest of the restaurant has traditional granite tables for a more traditional dining experience. The staff is friendly, but they can be a bit difficult to get the attention of when ordering drinks. There have been a couple of instances where drink orders were forgotten, but overall the restaurant is clean and the food arrives promptly. "We ordered 3 pizzas and some chicken wings with a delivery time of 25-40 minutes. However, the food arrived over an hour later, as the driver claimed to have gotten lost. The pizzas were not as hot or fresh as we had hoped, with cold and soggy cheese. The service was disappointing for a Monday evening when the restaurant was not as busy. Whether it was Herbies or Just Eat at fault, improvements are needed to avoid losing customers in the future."

"Most disappointed I’ve ever been from a takeaway food center, was over an hour and a half wait. The delivery driver said he knocked the door 3 times and called me. I’m sat in the living room adjacent to the door and my phone has been In front of me all night. Not one knock and not one phone call. Found out food was left on my door step after trying to call 5x. Once they answered and told me it had been delivered I opened the door and my food was there,Freezing cold.phoned the company and they handed me to the delivery driver who denied everyone and when I questioned him, hang up. "As a previous student of the local University, I have had the pleasure of calling Mega Kebab my third home. However, in this, my second review, I feel the need to impart some home truths. First though, some positives. As I stumbled past the inviting...front façade at 1am one Saturday morning, I entered a short queue. One commendable feature remaining, after the Godfather, Ali's, migration to the exotic reaches of Polsloe, is the service time. I can report times of under 20 seconds, from the moment I slur medium cheesy chips please bossman to walking back out that front façade, smug about the yellow container of goodness I have in my clasp. Or so I think. As the title of this review suggests, a number of staple kebab shop contenders have gone downhill quickly. Chips cold. Cheese covering pitiful. Garlic mayo lathering more conservative than my Grandma's Texan ex-boyfriend. Mega donner meat of old was outstanding. Shards of spicy, chewy, undefinable meat, beefed-up (or horsed-up, who knows) any meal. Now, this staple has been reduced down to what can only be described as fatty bacon bits for rabits. As a health-discerning kebab shop customer, the 70%-30% fat-to-meat ratio was disappointing. Whilst the old Mega staff used to call both me and my mate Tony, despite neither of us holding such an identity, at least there was some sense of a personal touch. With the moving on of staff, has also come the moving on of the friendly, I'll watch your mate throw your chips against the wall and still welcome you back next time type vibe. With this too has gone the level of cuisine I came to live on during my higher education years. Perhaps timely, then, that with the search for a grad job comes the search for a new favourite kebab shop. p.s. anyone got any grad jobs flying around get in touch"
