"We were served efficiently despite it being very busy. I told our waiter we had to catch a train and he was very polite, friendly and efficient. When the toilet roll had run out in the toilets as soon as we mentioned it it was sorted. Portions on the slightly small side I felt and I had to ask for more veg for the children but other than than was a nice experience."

"I am extremely dissatisfied with the dining experience at Café Rouge, particularly the very poor service we received. The staff rushed us, cleared plates when members of the party were still eating, failed to bring water despite numerous requests, placed the bill infront of us without having asked for it , provided us with dirty glasses, provided overcooked steak (medium steak was cooled well done!! and poured wine without asking if we would like to taste , all of which were very embarassing when we were on a business lunch with a client . I would like it brought to the attention of the st katherines dock branch that their service levels are very poor and we will not be returning due to this"

"This is honestly my favourite restaurant as it caters so well for gluten free. I have tried almost everything on the menu at this point and have been so pleasantly surprised with how well they are able to substitute the normal ingredients for the gluten free alternatives (for example would definitely recommend the gluten free halloumi with breadcrumbs . This and toppled by the fact that the staff are so lovely and attentive. Great restaurant couldn’t recommend enough. :"

"We arrived slightly early so we were there bang on our hour slot. Very friendly staff on arrival and we were taken straight to our seat. After settling in we ordered about 10mins from being seated. 2 other tables around us sat in and around the same time.We ordered our food and drinks and then waited to see all the cats.The majority of the cats were all in the lobby to the toilet and loads of kids then block the entrance making this area very congested.Our real issue was it took 55 minutes for our drinks and food to come out (2 other tables had the same) and one of the cakes was still missing.We were very worried we would be asked to leave only having an hour a slot.Then . . . . Food came out we eat and within 5 mins of finishing we were asked to pay up and leave.59 quid later for 2 , meal deal and an extra drink , very disappointed"

"Great food, tasty, NOT overly spiced like some place I 've been to that use hot spice to cover poor quality ingredients, I had the meat moussaka and it was very home cooked tasting, perfectly seasoned, the bulgar wheat and rice was beautifully soft and tasty (a touch oily) but delicious. With GOOD portion sizes (for the average person, if you 're a porker then can 't speak for you) not stingy like some places! The bread served with the meal was crispy and soft on the inside really nice with the two sauces it was served with, the salad was tangy and wonderfully seasoned. Some serious sour dressing at the bottom oosh lovely ! The staff were friendly and one particular waitress was wonderfully accommodating, polite and I felt she excelled at her role, I didn 't feel she was being fake 'nice '. Environment was clean well.laid out and nicely separated from the smokey BBQ kitchen area where the delicious food was cooked. Clean toilet! No smell, no **** on the floor, very good! Will visit again. Saturday evening 6PM March 9th 2024."

"Generally I love Cafe rouge and we went in to celebrate adopting our children. We had somewhere to go onto and had left an hour and a half for food. The restaurant was really empty but service was so slow that our children did not have time for dessert before we had to leave (this was part of their menu). I oredered the four cheese pancakes. They were obviously pre made and had been microwaved/ baked to within an inch of their lives. They came in a little pot and were both dry and stodgy at the same time. They also came with a tiny tiny salad in a little bowl. No dog cam let ask if we were ok or if our food was ok and overall it was really really disappointing."

"Booked here for New Year’s Eve as it’s the only place that didn’t do a rip off set menu. Pleasantly surprised. Food was very good in a very authentic French bistro atmosphere. It’s the sort of chain I’d probably normally not bother with but actually the ambiance was lovely, the service fantastic and no pressure to order any more or any less than what you actually want! They laid on Christmas crackers and a sweet buffet for the kids which was a really nice touch. Group of 7 of us with two children, parents and grandparents for dinner, no pressure to leave our table and just generally relaxed and perfect for every age group. Really changed my perceptions of the cafe rouge chain and I’m ashamed at my previous snobbery. Give it a go for any occasion you won’t regret it."

"Food was not fresh, lumpy couscous, cold and stodgy potatoes. Nothing like the original cafe rouge, did not represent value for money. Far too expensive for what it was. We would not go there again. "We used to frequent this restaurant often because of the great food and kid-friendly atmosphere, with quick and friendly staff making it a good value. However, our recent experience on Mother's Day was disappointing. When my wife arrived slightly before me, the manager watched her struggle with a pram and did not offer to help. Additionally, half of the menu items were already sold out by noon. When the food did arrive, my wife's medium steak was overcooked and solid. The server did not address her concerns, and the service was slow overall. We were also overcharged, which I thankfully noticed before paying. It is disappointing to see the decline in the quality of the restaurant, likely due to a change in management. Our experience left us feeling ripped off and put a damper on our special occasion. Unfortunately, we do not plan to return to this restaurant."

"Visited here with my partner in October First impressions were good ones, I’m a big fan of Mexican food and the menus looked as if they had a lot of choice and resonably priced, the restaurant was full with a decent atmosphere, usually a...good sign. Alarm bells started ringing when we ordered our main, calamari and an assortment of chips and dips. The calamari consisted of large, battered rings, clearly frozen (my guess is Iceland) and a mayonnaise. The chips and dips was a whole bag of cheap super market tortillas slopped on a dinner plate accompanied by shop bought hummus, sour cream and gauc. It’s a dark day when you enter a Mexican restaurant and they don’t even make their on guacamole….. even I make my own guacamole! However, we were hungry and ploughed through….. I’d like to point out at this point, I’m months pregnant and when it’s dinner time, I’ll eat anything. For mains we ordered the ginger and chilli tuna steaks which were served ‘turf and surf’ style. This means on its on griddle with a whole jar of what can only be described as uncle bens sauced shoved on top with peppers and onions. The tuna steak was extremely chewy and had a pungent smell. We couldn’t eat it. Praise the lord the the side of McCain’s oven cooked wedges which came with the dish (another whole dinner plates worth), for it was the safest thing to eat. Naturally after deciding enough was enough we asked to speak with the manager who was reluctant to help in anyway, very defensive over his frozen tuna and all in all, a bit dismissive. He did ask if he could get us anything else to eat, I’d rather raid the frozen aisle at my local Tesco thanks, and did offer us a drink on the house, to which we politely refused and asked for the bill. When we received this, the waitress announces proudly ‘here’s the bill, and we’ve given you a discount’ I pick up the paper with baited breath, what is it? Free drinks? Complimentary appetisers?? Nope! They’ve taken a whopping off our bill, which equates to approximately Bravo mariachi grill, bravo, i doth my cap to you in what I can only describe as the worst meal I’ve eaten out in a very long time."

"This place is Awful and has not trained the bouncers at the door how to greet the customers because of whom probably they are getting their salaries from.I and my friends visited this place last night , we forgot our ids so we went home and got the Ids and when went inside.While going inside my friend guy friend was carrying a man bag was told that he’s not allowed to get the bag inside when we asked him for a reason for the same he didn’t answer any thing but at the same time I was allowed with my lady bag in there.We offered him if he can check his bag and allow him inside then but he insisted us to go back hide your man bag inside and then you can enter which is so disrespectful and bad.Then we went inside enjoyed our selves so by the end of time we were leaving the same bouncer who let us in started abusing and assaulting us when we said don’t touch he said “I’ll show you what I can do and even touch you”.He pushed me badly and grabbed my friend’s arm and dragged him out of the club.This incident has shocked me from inside out that what kind of Racist and sexist behaviour is this.For the first time in my life I have seen such heartless behaviour inside a club this is not even human.If a women can get a purse that’s allowed and man cannot isn’t this unfair and sexiest ?? We group of people spent almost 300 pounds in this club and this club gave us a very hard time, forget the service they can’t even match the basic standards on even humanitarian grounds or any place if compared.People who wants to have a good quality time “PLEASE AVOID Going to this bar as this is beyond the expectations of insults and sexism and racism you’ll face in your entire life”.I would never visit this place again and never recommend to my friends."

"My starter was supposed to be Escargots for which I got a plate of garlicky mushrooms with a few tiny pieces of snails, so the dish was completely inaccurate in its description and would most certainly not have been acceptable by French standards. "We booked a table at cafe rouge as we had tickets for the theatre nearby. We go to cafe rouge on a regular basis and this was our worst experience by far. The venue itself was nice, lots of glass windows and the usual cafe rouge decor. We ordered bread and olives to start, which were great, but we had issues with the main and pudding courses. We had both ordered steaks to be cooked medium, but when they arrived one was perfect and the other was very well done. They replaced it without a fuss however my partner had finished her meal before my replacement arrived. The replacement was good, but there was no reflection in the bill that we had come out for a meal together and ended up eating alone. We ordered pudding, creme brûlée and chocolate fondant. The chocolate fondant was nothing special, a little dry, but the creme brûlée was awful. The crunchy top had not been made by putting on sugar and then caramelising it; instead they had made caramel in a pan and poured it on. This made it very thick and hard to eat and rather unenjoyable. The service was okay, but we felt the manager was rather inappropriately dressed in a short skirt and sparkly trainers!"

"I made a reservation at this restaurant several months ago for a post-theatre dinner in Tottenham Court Road. Unfortunately, I was left disappointed by the service provided by the staff, who had trouble understanding me when I spoke. I'm not sure if it was due to my soft voice or if they simply didn't care about making their customers feel comfortable. I ordered the surf and turf and requested it to be cooked medium rare. The £44 steak and lobster dish arrived quickly, but the steak was fatty and tough to chew. To make matters worse, the bill came in at a very high amount, even though I had gift vouchers. This experience was definitely not worth the money, and I won't be returning in the future. I was truly disappointed and would not recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a lobster and steak dinner."

"it was Valentine's Day! needed somewhere locally and for a fast, comfortable meal. to our surprise a musician had been set for the evening and this improved the ambiente so much that we wanted to take our time over the culinary experience.
