"Friends choice to go here, not in the nicest area but the decor inside was quite nice. More a cafe than a restaurant but it’s open in the evenings, Teenagers hanging around connected with the lady owner I think), it was quiet inside apart from them. The food was nice enough, it came in good time. The special price deal is daytime only I believe. This is a foreign owned establishment, felt a bit out of place tbh. The lady owner was ok I guess, bit of a vibe I picked up on. The toilet was nice and clean. The thing I found rude was that before we had finished our drinks the door was left open to the restaurant letting in the cold night air, in other words she wanted us gone as she wanted to close I assume. A polite word would have been far better explaining it was near closing time. It really spoiled the evening. There was also political propaganda on the counter, not something I want to hear about in a cafe. Not somewhere I would go back, I didn’t feel that comfortable. Two stars for the food which was decent and the drinks."

"I had a great experience dining at this restaurant. I usually choose the burrito, but decided to try something different this time and everything tasted delicious. "We decided to have a treat and order from Eddies. We ordered a chilli cheeseburger, the full English, Cajun chicken burrito, cheese dog and chips. When the food arrived the burrito was missing, the chilli cheeseburger had no cheese and the full English had no beans or toast as advertised. I contacted the restaurant to try and get this issue resolved and they said that they had sent it out and basically told me the driver had stolen it telling me to contact Uber eats. I said if it’s stolen I would be better calling the Police. The male on the end of the phone then started to get abusive and said to another male you deal with this f’ing guy. Another male came on the phone being abusive and told me to phone the f’ing police before hanging up. Has to be one of the worst examples of customer service I have ever experienced and it was not my fault. The bag arrived double tied so it would not have been the delivery driver. Basically I have had been screwed over by the restaurant and when I challenged this they become abusive because they had been found out. If you want quality service don’t use this place."

"We had a table for five, and one person in our group is vegetarian. We wanted to order the combination platter, but most of the items on it contained meat. I brought this to the attention of a staff member, and they promptly offered to make substitutions for us. The food was delicious, the cocktails were fantastic, and the staff was wonderful. This was my third visit, while it was the first for the others, and we all agreed that we will definitely be coming back! xx"

"because I'm very Mexican, I would never have tried this little Mexican caffe. but after other reviews, I did it. eating here is great and the friendly service even better. Friday afternoons are the best. they can often see the employees dance . the employees often ask how they eat and when they have time, the table clear and do not hesitate to bring them a round cocktails on the table! "Considering the current global challenges facing restaurants, I must admit that my expectations were not met at this establishment. Nevertheless, I appreciate their decision to remain open and provide food during these difficult times. I would like to give them 5 stars for that alone, but my review is primarily based on the food itself. Located in the Leith area and offering a non-authentic Mexican cuisine, I found my steak burrito and tacos to be below average in taste. However, the accessibility, friendliness of the staff, and portion sizes were commendable. The prices were reasonable and you definitely get value for your money. While I may not return, I left feeling satisfied. My recommendation would be for them to focus on incorporating more garlic, onion, and citrus flavors through marinades or infused rice in their dishes."

"Chilango on Brewer Street (various locations) is the place to go for delicious Mexican food. All the ingredients are incredibly fresh and flavorful! Daniel and Luca provided excellent service, with Daniel even making our burrito in just 15 seconds. The music and decor create a fantastic atmosphere and I can't wait to go back. I absolutely loved the chicken burrito, and the surf and turf rice hotbox with steak and prawns was cooked perfectly. The baked fries with BBQ salsa were also a hit - I loved it so much, I had to take some BBQ salsa home with me! And of course, the jarrito Mexican guava soda was the perfect drink to accompany the meal. Highly recommended!"

I have been to Chilango's Islington a few times with friends and always found it OK in terms of the food it serves but nothing to recommend to anyone else I went alone today and bought a vegetable burrito to take-away. As I was talking to the server who was asking me what I wanted in the burrito I told him I didin't mind as long as it was vegetarian- this loud American man who was also working there butted in and said put chicken in and started laughing. "Went in for a drink with my boyfriend before a meal down Princess Ave, we wouldn't have gone in unless the staff outside talked us into it and we felt bad for them. Not a single other customer, half the drinks on tap were off,...the barmaid didn't know how to make a pornstar martini and we had to wait a good while for her to be shown how to do it. The music was blaring out, really loud for just people. Had to shout to hear each other. The decor looks tacky, ultra modern and cheap. Not a patch on other bars in the area. Even when I pass Bliss now it seems to always be extreamly quiet, while other bars almost next door are full of people. We left as soon as our drinks were finished and I highly doubt we will return."
