"Considering the current global challenges facing restaurants, I must admit that my expectations were not met at this establishment. Nevertheless, I appreciate their decision to remain open and provide food during these difficult times. I would like to give them 5 stars for that alone, but my review is primarily based on the food itself. Located in the Leith area and offering a non-authentic Mexican cuisine, I found my steak burrito and tacos to be below average in taste. However, the accessibility, friendliness of the staff, and portion sizes were commendable. The prices were reasonable and you definitely get value for your money. While I may not return, I left feeling satisfied. My recommendation would be for them to focus on incorporating more garlic, onion, and citrus flavors through marinades or infused rice in their dishes."

Of all the Tex-Mex burrito joints in Edinburgh I've tried this is one of the best.

So we were in Edinburgh on Cinco de Mayo so of course we had to order some haggis burritos. View menu

I think this restaurant makes the best burritos in town. Guacamole, depending on the chef, is sometimes a bit bland.

The food at Los Cardos is absolutely delicious and is one of my favorite takeout options in the area. The staff is professional, friendly, and helpful. All the food is fresh, prepared to order, and is always tasty. Plus, everything is reasonably priced. You can't go wrong with Los Cardos.

Food was alright, nice salsas and good portions. Older guy behind counter has some serious customer service issues though, made me feel like an actual inconvenience. Just to be clear, other staff seemed excellent and the food was fine for the money, just the older guy working there, don't want other staff to feel its directed at them View menu

I will try to be as unbiased as possible, as I typically don't give 1-star ratings. I have ordered from this restaurant before and enjoyed their delicious burritos. However, this time I decided to try the steak burrito and was disappointed to find the meat extremely chewy and rubbery, lacking the tenderness I had hoped for. I ended up throwing away half of the order. Additionally, the salsa Verde looked unappealing and tasted odd. It would be helpful if they provided more detailed descriptions of the burrito extras on the menu.

Order two burritos one haggis and one vegetarian. I was answering questions about what was to go in them from two people as they made both, including at end when person was asking me about drinks etc and charging me for them. Unfortunately I didn't realise the person making the veggie one hadn't asked me about sour cream and cheese (and for some reason assumed I didn't want any??? . So I came home to find it was a disgustingly bland one with only rice, beans and vegetables. It cost over £8 for it. Ridiculous! I've been here quite a few times before but I'll just make my own in the future.

"new kapitel has caught my attention after I was on top ten on trip advisor only months after the opening in the oktober last year. that and the fact that it is open for my early january birthday, made it the perfect place to celebrate to become a little older. I was with the man and his family. the man is quite used to my taste and good to the kind of kitchen that would appeal to me for a special occasion; his family not so much and I was filled with shame as his mother scornful went through the menu trying to find something she would enjoy. I've eaten with the family of the man, and I know they enjoy eating, so I think it's a failure of the menu that it is not accessible. the benming always blooming and garnish can appeal to some, but for others it is overcomplicated and it is necessary to find a balance between the two. we start with the starters and I go for venison sour wort pithvier. the venison was underheated and incredibly dry, to the happiness the sourded a little moisturizing and so saved the whole dish, but the aromen were quite not clear, except the garnitur of plastered mushrooms I thoroughly enjoyed. for the largest part we chose a fish dish for our main,- sea trout, smoked muddles, petersilien and coast herbs. where the starter fell, the main recording is getting back. the dish is rich and creamy, and each element adds the complexity of the taste as a whole, without disturbing. the concept is now an old one, and it would be deceptive if it had not worked, as it would essentially pay with this place. I enjoyed my meal in new chapter, although I do not agree with it is stellar status under the hierarchy of edinburgh eateries. it is top ten position is just a flash in the pan of hot popularity, and in time it will be plated in the upper half of the middle stage where it belongs. and that is where it belongs, the dishes can be plated with a michelin star in understood, and the venue and the supporting media has the clean lines and empty slate look of fine but eat the team has a long gone to go if that is their real aim. at the end, although it was a beautiful meal, and cheap (at the moment I would not be surprised to see their prices slowly rise) and the man’s mother found something they enjoyed and that is the most important."
